Advantages: gets rid of red patches in (almost) a flash
Disadvantages: stings a bit if the redness is too raw
Getting dry skin and eczema related problems, or red rashes during the cold months of winter are really bugging and annoying. When the wind affects your cheeks, making them look as if you have had a mistake with your blusher brush, or when it hits your hands, making them sting in the bath, then I advise this body lotion. It can moisturise and protect your body and face during the chilly months ahead of you.
When I get my colds, I end up with a red raw nose and it goes all flaky…how attractive to the members of the opposite sex at parties and dinner outings. Not really, and it stings quite a bit. So I use this body lotion at the first sign of a red dry area of skin, to get rid of it.
The packaging
There are many different bottles and mini travel tubes, but I have all of them. The big bottle for home use, the smaller bottle for my longer holidays, and my smaller tube for shorter breaks away. The one I have within my hand is the small tube that I take away on short breaks. It’s a 75ml tube, and it usually lasts me around six months for short breaks that I take. It’s a creamy colour and has the deep blue logo with Vaseline intensive care embedded within the square. It says on the front that it is meant for dry skin and is essential moisture. It also says multi-vitamin complex.
On the back it gives you a paragraph about what the lotion does; the address of the manufacturer, the ingredients, the price code, and the Vaseline intensive care log in a smaller version upon the back.
How to use and apply
When you get a red area appear on your skin, try and rub in the body lotion when you see it appearing, because otherwise if it becomes too red, it can sting when you rub it in. if possible, try rubbing the lotion in after every bath or shower you have, and that should add a lot of moisture within your skin, that way you are less likely to get a red patch appear.
1. Squeeze as much as you need to apply. For small areas, start off with a pea sized amount, for larger areas, apply more.
2. rub in with your hand and let it all soak in
3. Apply as often as required. If it is a deep red colour, try applying the lotion once every half an hour, for less red areas, apply every hour or two.
This takes a day to a week to rid of the red patches depending on how often I apply it to my skin, how bad the redness is and how much I use. If it wasn’t for this moisturiser, which I have used on my skin since I was ten, then I don’t know what I would do. I always seem to get colds right when I don’t want them, like for instance right now. I have a performance to act out at my local college on Saturday and I have a cold, I’m eating and drinking so much vitamin C it’s just not right, but with my nose beginning to turn red, this is what will help the redness go down which is good.
Conclusion
Overall, I give this lotion a ten out of ten because it works miracles with my skin. The only downside to it, is that some people can end up with allergic reactions with it, like my mum does, so it might be best to try a patch test before you use it more frequently, but bear in mind that it may sting for a bit, because its like when your hands freeze on a cold day, and then your warm them up and suddenly they hurt. It is likely to do so, so I advise that when using it, that you try and use it before it gets too red that it hurts so much. This product rocks, and I enjoy it.
