Advantages: Cheap.
Disadvantages: Usless, takes time and effort, smells horrid,
This product seems to be a 'love it, or hate it' type, much like Marmite. I've heard either very positive or very negative reviews, so I thought, after not having my legs professionally waxed for a month (disgusting, I know!), I'd give Veet In-Shower Hair Removal Cream a go.
Firstly, the price was extremely good, I got it for £1 (my professional waxing sessions costs around £25) from the local shop, but it is available in most supermarkets and pharmacists at around £2-£3, which is a good price, but is it worth it?
After reading the instructions, which are stupidly small, I began applying the cream, and the smell was revolting! Honestly, it was horrible and really strong, you'd think Veet would at least make the product smell nicer, of roses or violets or anything nicer then the current smell. So I applied the cream to my legs, and waited the 2 minutes said on the tube, after around 1 minute the product began stinging my legs quite badly, which got me scared, but kept thinking that waxing feels worse then this.
The tube said not to keep the cream on for more then 6 minutes exactly, still not quite sure why 6 minutes exact, but getting worried it'll kill me or burn my legs off I stuck to the instructions religiously, and stood in the shower for 1 more minute. Then began using the sponge to rub off the cream. This was way more effort then I thought it would be, mainly because the sponge is so small and is really difficult to clean afterwards (another negative).
This whole de-creaming my legs, took around 8 minutes or so, and involved me getting more and more annoyed with the little sponge. Afterwards (in the shower) I felt my legs, and though 'Wow, that's fantastic!', my legs felt really, really smooth, and I was very impressed. But while drying and moisturising, my legs after the shower, my legs still felt hairy, and I couldn't tell the difference between before and after my shower. I was pretty annoyed really, as I hoped this product would work, as I was desperate to wear a skirt tomorrow, but no, trousers it is and I went through a lot of effort for no results really. A real disappointment.
Summary: Don't bother trying this, better off shaving or getting waxed.
