Product: Veet Wax strips for cold waxing Producer: Veet Contains: 20 wax strips and 4 finishing wipes with mint extracts Price: £4.49 on an offer at Boots. For those of us who can actually prove the monkeys are our ancestors just by showing upp our amount of body hair, waxing is a good alternative. Done in the right way, it removes the hair perfectly and lets you have at least three or four weeks of hair-free legs before you have to start to worry again. When waxing with wax strips, you take a double strip (two pieces stuck together with wax in between) and rum it between your hand to heat it upp with the friction. Gently pull appart ... I first saw this product on a television advert. I was a 'wax virgin', shaving everyday to keep my stubble at bay. I was keen to try these so I went to my local boots and bought some that day. I have no clue how expensive they were, but I don't suppose they were very much at all (maybe around £6?). When I got home, I read the instructions a few times so I was sure I knew what I was doing. It seemed simple enough; Smooth the wax strip onto your skin in the direction of the hair growth, hold the skin taut and pull in the oposite direction. Sounds simple, right? It probably would have if it actually worked, but it didn't. If it was skin I was trying to ... Read the complete review

I picked these up because of the "sensitive" part on the blue box. I had been keeping my largely scarred "treasure trail" of ex-ingrown hairs very moistureised, clean, and un-irritated, so i could wax it. Brought these home, cut them to the right size, rubbed in between hands for about 30 seconds, and followed the direction. I pulled my skin straight, and waited for the pain. I felt nothing, looked at the strip, and there was like ONE hair on the wax! I ended up using 6 or 7 strips, trying to get one small area done. I now have a rash, and only half of the hairs are gone. Im getting this done professionally! it left a very sticky residue, i tried the ... Read the complete review

Until recently there was no way that I would have been writing a review about a waxing product, but here I am. So why the change of heart? Read on. BACKGROUND: For a long time I couldn't entertain the thought of hairs being ripped from my body. I mean, why? All that pain when shaving got pretty much the same result. However, a few months ago I was starting to get really annoyed by having to shave my bikini line as I was getting really bad ingrowing hairs and the area was getting painful. My friends kept on insisting that waxing really wasn't that bad. It took a while but eventually I decided to book myself in at a salon. My first ... Read the complete review

I hate shaving my legs, my hair grows back so quickly my legs look stubily after a few hours. Thank goodness for wax. I've been waxing my legs for a few years now and have tried many different brands and types of wax. Veet wax has been the best I've found so far, it's very easy to use and lasts for a few weeks. I have very dry sensitive skin so I use veet wax strips with vitamin E and Almond oil (especially for sensitive skin). But there are other varieties out there including - refreshing with mint (for normal skin) and moisturising with papaya oil (for dry skin). You can buy these strips from supermarkets, boots, superdrug and some pharmacies for around ... Read the complete review
