Advantages: None.
Disadvantages: It just doesn't work.
I first saw this product on a television advert. I was a 'wax virgin', shaving everyday to keep my stubble at bay. I was keen to try these so I went to my local boots and bought some that day.
I have no clue how expensive they were, but I don't suppose they were very much at all (maybe around £6?).
When I got home, I read the instructions a few times so I was sure I knew what I was doing. It seemed simple enough;
Smooth the wax strip onto your skin in the direction of the hair growth, hold the skin taut and pull in the oposite direction. Sounds simple, right? It probably would have if it actually worked, but it didn't. If it was skin I was trying to remove I think I would have been more successful. About 4 strands of hair came out. And it wasn't painless like the advert suggests. Definately not. It hurt, and while I was expecting a little pain, I wasn't prepared for THAT. I tried to continue and finish both legs but I ended up giving up, wiping away the excess wax left on my legs and jumping into the bath to shave.
I ended up with soft, smooth legs but it wasn't the wax's doing.
Summary: Maybe I'm just not a wax sort of girl :(

- 09/10/07 I had the same problem, they just dont work except on very course hairs (like my former flatmates chest) and even then they hurt more than you would expect. |
