I am a big fan of natural oils, for food, skincare and healing so I was more than a little excited to try these and I have to say that I was and continue to be very impressed. They are packaged in small yet solid glass bottles/vials, with a leaflet inside a cardboard box. They are excellent and convenient when traveling whether it be a holiday or simply commuting for work for those who like to carry a moisturizer with them. Only a little of any of the oils is necessary per application and 10ml can last for 1-2 applications if used on the body or a few weeks if just used for the face and neck or hands.

This set includes 5 mini oils:
1) Wild Rose Body Oil,
2) Lavender Relaxing Body Oil,
3) Pomegranate Regenerating Body Oil,
4) Weleda Sea Buckthorn Body Oil and
5) Weleda Citrus Refreshing Body Oil.
Below is a brief summary of my experience of each oil.

1) Wild Rose Body Oil
This was absolute favourite of the oils. It had an intoxicating smell which simply made me feel happier with a quick whiff. It absorbed quickly in comparison to most oils and was quite light yet had a superbly toning effect. I would recommend it for mature skin because of its decadent feel, tightening effect and enchanting smell - I received many compliments on it when used as a 'top up' during the day on my wrists.

2) Lavender Relaxing Body Oil
A mild form of lavender oil which may be preferable to many who usually find Lavender quite strong in effect or smell. Has the classic properties of Lavender including soothing sore or irritated skin and having a calming effect if feeling stressed. It didn't really give a visible appearance of softening but it did make the skin feel softer too.

3) Pomegranate Regenerating Body Oil
A full bodied oil combination of numerous 'superfood' oils, so very rich and took a while to absorb hence I found it worked best when used as an overnight moisturizer. I wasn't too keen on the smell, probably because of the many oils used, but the important point was that I did think that my skin's overall condition improved i.e. felt softer and smoother after using this.

4) Sea Buckthorn Body Oil
This was my second favourite oil in the set. It was rich, colourful and had a strong scent. It was the moist moisturizing and gave my skin a more youthful look and even a glow after the first use. This is an oil perfect for pampering and massage.

5) Citrus Refreshing Body Oil
Exactly as the title says, this oil was refreshing. The first things I noticed was the revitalizing and mood lifting smell, similar to the feeling I get when I walk into to a natural cosmetics store with vibrant scents filling the air. It's a light oil, quite mild and absorbs fairly quickly. I felt it was like a less medicinal version of the Lavender i.e. it was more of a mood enhancer than moisturizer and soothes the skin but more gently rather than in an anti-sceptic, anti-imflammatory way. It's great for as a refresher during the day if you need a pick me up e.g. if you've sat in front of a computer or in a stuffy environment for a while.

CONCLUSION:

As with all oils I found each of these were most effective after having moistened/washed the skin or blended with creams/lotions to speed up the absorbency time and reduce wastage i.e. when touching items it's easy for oil to rub off and leave marks, however they still worked well on dry skin.

I think this box set is perfect for sampling the Weleda oils especially if you're new to the brand and it would also make a lovely gift set.
