... Sword Extra II are a mid-priced disposable. It seems that they are sold in packs of 5 or 10. They are available in all supermarkets as well as most large chemists. Prices and packaging vary but on average, the cost of an individual razor comes out at 30p. The packagining I am most familiar with is a pink plastic packet with a clear window showing the razors smartly lined up like soldiers on parade.(Well - very pink soldiers on parade.) They are obviously packaged for the whole European market because there are no dire...more

Crowned Review Wilkinson Sword Extra II: Beauty and the Beast (898 words)

During the summer months I often find myself wanting to shave my arms and legs more often, especially because the summer heat leads to short skirts, and sleeveless tops. I’m not a huge fan of standard “replace the blade” razors, because I inevitably lose the holder to begin with, so generally buy disposable razors. Wilkinson Sword Extra II razors (5) are my current choice, and are available for £1.95 from Sainsbury’s, with other mainstream supermarkets also stocking them at a similar price. Their bright pink and jade packaging ensures they stand out from the more dowdy looking brands, and appeal to the girly side of me. They are currently classed as Wilkinson ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Getting to grips with hair removal (1257 words)

Over the years I have tried many ways of getting rid of unwanted hair on legs and under arms. Yet, I always seem to come back to using some type of disposable razor. I remember in my late teens being very excited as I received my first lady shave as a gift, yet after the initial excitement died down, it all seemed a bit too much bother. I think that first one was a mains rather than battery operated one, so you needed to be like a contortionist in the corner of your bedroom, with dry legs and getting knotted up in the curly wurly cord. The next one was battery operated . Fine until the batteries run down with just a half mowed armpit. By this time I ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Wilkinson Sword Extra II: 'Aloe ' & 'Goodbye' to Stubble! (1161 words)

I’m a bit of a flirt when it comes to razors. No less so, then when I visited my nearest Wilkinson’s shop ('Wilkos', not to be confused with the product company) a few weeks ago. 'Wilkos' had reduced the price of a lot of both male and female razors by quite sizeable amounts, so I ‘made hay while the sun shined’, and bagged myself a couple of different types. The razors I’m using at present, are Wilkinson Sword Extra II, which are normally priced in the region of £1.55-2.00 for five. In Wilko’s however, I bought them for just £1.09. I like disposable razors, as they are so handy and convenient, using them both at home, and on ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review The Lady Protector + stops you looking like a beast without ... (792 words)

I got the Lady Protector + (I can't find its own category so I'm copying jessyclown and putting my opinion here!) after removing most of my knees with ordinary razors. I was going to get the men's equivalent (the Protector 3D) but I succumbed to cunning advertising ploys and truly and honestly believed for a razor to shave my legs successfully it needed to be a pretty lilac colour. Okay, seriously, it was on special offer, £1.99 for a "trial razor", with 2 blades. I was impressed at first though, the blades being wire wrapped stops you taking big chunks out like I was accustomed to, it doesn't stop little tiny nicks but it does work. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Wilkinson Sword Extra II: Lady Protector+ (398 words)

When I was walking around a shop the other week I noticed an offer too good to resist. Try Me for Free on the Wilkinson sword Lady Protector+. I decided to invest in this razor for that reason only. I bought the package and bought it home. The packaging is very feminine with purple and mintgreen colouring and the razor is equally attractive. I opened the packet and took the holder and stuck it to the bathroom tiles with its handy suckers. The holder is well designed, it is a pearly cream colour which looks good on the wall by the bath, it is designed to hold the razor and the pack of spare blades. All looks good on the wall. How about its ...  Read the complete review
