Advantages: No need for gel/foam, no need to moisturise
Disadvantages: Price, hard to see which bits shaved
I was sent a Wilkinson Sword Intuition Plus to try for free as part of a Bzz campaign that I am taking part in.
I was actually surprised by the results I got from using it for the first time this morning and thought I would share this with you, my fellow dooyoo-ers!
The Packaging
------------------
As with most razors these days it comes in a plastic package, this particular one comes with a bluey green cardboard insert with the name written on it on the front with the words Aloe and Vitamin E also appearing. On the back of the packet it informs you it is fragrance free/hypo allergenic.
The Cost
-----------
Mine was free (hoorah!), but they usually retail at around £5.00 for the razor and around the same price for 3 replacement blades.
The Razor
-------------
It looks huge, this is because it is quite a clever design where the blades are pushed inside of a bar of soap, this means that you don't need any shaving gel or foam and therefore it is quicker to use. The head of the razor is quite flexible and went over my knees without any problems.
The razor is made out of white and the same bluey green plastic the cardboard is coloured. You get a suction cup device to hang the razor on to your bathroom wall when not in use.
How did it work?
----------------------
I must admit I was a little worried about using this with no shaving foam/gel as I have recently cut my legs to shreds using cheap disposables and didn't want to make my legs look any worse than they already were!
Anyway, I decided for the purpose of research to just get on with it and hope for the best! To my surprise the soap makes your legs quite slimy, but in a way that makes the razor glide up and down easily. The only problem I had was trying to work out which areas I had already done as when you use foam/gel it is clear that bits with white foam on have not been done yet.
When I got out of the shower my legs did feel lovely and soft so I would agree with the promotional stuff that it moisturises as it shaves and therefore you could step straight out of the shower into some clothes without the need to use a separate moisturiser.
The only drawback for me is that it did a patchy job, I'm not sure if this is because I missed bits or if I didn't have the razor at the right angle to get close enough. However, I didn't cut myself once with this, so it gets a thumbs up for being an easy to use razor.
As part of the campaign I have been asked to request people log onto chatthreads.co.uk and use the ID of 2014682696 to let them know how you feel about the product after reading this review, and Wilkinson Sword will donate £1.10 to a UK charity for each person that does this (that's 1p for each year Wilkinson Sword have made razors). Feel under no pressure to do so if you don't want to, just thought I would let you all know!
Thank you for reading.
Summary: Nice idea, price a bit too much for me!
