Advantages: Ergonomic design, Smooth legs

Disadvantages: Expensive replacement heads, Conditioning block makes it hard to shave sometimes

Well, finally - I've actually been really impressed by a shaving product!

The Intuition is something quite different and quite special - the three blades are surrounded by a 'Skin Conditioning Solid' which eliminates the need for shaving gel.

The pictorial instructions show all you have to do is wet the razor and then shave - the conditioning block will lather up and give you a shave which 'smoothes and soothes your skin in one easy step'.

Of course, I was sceptical, but at the same time hopeful, as I am with all of these products, that I might actually find one that works. And here we have it. The Wilkinson Sword Intuition.

The first time I used it the results were amazing, and they've been consistant. My legs feel really smooth each time and I'm amazed by the lack of irritation I get from using this razor. I've cut myself two, maybe three times in all the time I've had it (which has to be over a year).

So there has to be a snag somewhere - right? Well, it's true to say that both the razor and the replacement blades are hellishly expensive - the razor will set you back about £6.29, though for that you do get 2 blades, a shower hanger and a cap for travel.

A six-pack of replacement blades will set you back £11.99, while you'll have to spend about £6.25 for a pack of three. I find that I can make a blade last for about two to three weeks but the conditioning block will get used up fairly quickly. You probably have to replace them more often than with an ordinary razor just because the conditioning block wears out - but I wait until it's completely gone and that makes it last a bit longer! (I'm going to check this for definite and I'll update when I know for sure as this is me probably grossly underestimating!)

A disadvantage of the conditioning block is that sometimes it can get in the way a little bit - the blade contours well ensuring that you get a very close shave but because of this the blade falls back into the conditioning block sometimes - but this is a minor problem.

I find best results come when used in the shower or bath - you absolutely HAVE to wet it before you use it. Infact you need to make sure both the razor and your legs are very wet, otherwise you won't get as good a shave - the conditioning block will just go a little gooey. It needs to be very wet to get a good lather.
Also, despite the obvious advantages of not having to use shower gel, it does mean that it's a little hard to tell where you have shaved.

The blades come in 'Normal' or 'Sensitive' - both of which I've used and both of which smell very nice. They both leave your skin feeling smooth and silky.

So is the Intuition worth it? I'd have to say that it is - and I would strongly recommend it. I've already recommended it to a friend - both me and another friend told her that we thought it gave great results. This one really is worth a try - so next time you're in Boots or Superdrug and this is on offer - buy it!

Also - a quick tip, if you do buy one and you're looking for replacement blades - try looking in supermarkets - you can get them slightly cheaper (maybe by 25p or so) if you shop around!

**Thanks to magdaDH for the comment - I'd have to say that in my experience it's not great for using on your bikini line but it's fine for underarm usage**

Thanks for reading!

Good review. I would like to know how suitable it is for other areas (underarms; bikini line and surrounds) as often products that work well on legs coause irritation or rash when used elsewhere.
