Advantages: clean shave, tidier bathroom, saves time
Disadvantages: a little pricy for replacement blades
Intuition is the new women's shaving product from Wilkinson Sword. It is one of those buy the handle and keep replacing the head deals. Except it is different - this one is good!!! Let's face it shaving your legs (and other areas!) is a pain. It takes time. You need to use shaving gel or cream or oil. You need a razor that won't nick or scrape. You need blades that are sharp. You want it done quickly before work but it doesn't happen - your balde is blunt or you run out of shave gel, or you nick yourself so it's trousers again!!! Not with this baby. THE PRODUCT The Intuition as I said is a razor which you change the heads on. The handle is wide and fairly flat allowing you good control over it. It's made of plastic and has a blue rubbery grip area. It comes with a hole in it and a hook to stick to your tiles so you can hang it up. The shaving head is where the difference comes in. You do not need shaving creams or gels with this. As you look at the head you can see a triple blade razor with the usual lubri-strips on it (this looks very like the usual Wilkinson Sword Protector blades). The big difference is that outside the blades is a big pale bluish solid lump of a soapy substance. This is what Wilkinson Sword call their "Skin Conditioning Solid" it contains Aloe Vera, Vitamin E and Cocoa Butter to be kind to your skin. When you get this wet in the shower or bath the solid makes a light lubricating foam to allow you to shave in comfort. All you need is this razor and water and you're away with the mixer. The head also pivots to allow a comfortable shave to fit your contours. You can buy two different heads - one for sensitive skin and one for normal skin although I am unsure what the differences are. I was given my Intuition and it was for normal skin and I've had no problems. THE TRIAL I really gave this product a good trial run - I took it on holiday
with me bringing along a spare blade in case. I was very impressed with the product. It shaved closely. The solid smells nice and makes a little lather and leaves your skin soft and smooth. The no shave gel thing worked out well as it saves a couple of minutes every time and is far less messy - if you are anything like me you'll know that shave gel goes everywhere no matter how careful you are when you concentrate on putting gel on the back of your legs some always jumps off onto the side of the bath!!! I took a big gamble as I didn't pack my usual disposable razor and shave gel combination in case this product was rubbish. I'd seen the adverts and didn't expect the product to be this good. I got no nicks or cuts and had wonderful smooth legs all holiday. I used this product every other day for 2 weeks and the blade was still going strong and there was plenty of solid left. THE PRICE The razor with 2 blades goes for around £6.25, although as I write it is on a 1/2 price promotion in both Boots and Superdrug. Blades are £6.25 for 3 and these are again on promotion so I've stocked up!!! I think a couple of quid for each blade is pricey but as my current one is now 3 weeks old and going strong it may work out to be worth it. Plus it is a lot less messy having the Intuition in the bathroom than a pack of disposable razors and a can of shave gel. Also you get less nicks and so more skirt wearable days with the Intuition which seems like a good excuse to buy more shoes!!! I know it sounds crazy but I luurrrve this razor. It's the daddy of all razors. Over the years I have tried mens razors, womens razors, different brands etc and nothing has performed like the Intuition. A Gold Star for the geniuses at Wilkinson Sword, please. Oh, ladies, the Intuitition works extremely well on more sensitive areas as well!!!
