I believe that this new product from Wilkinson Sword retails for around £8-9 full price, which is a lot for what is effectively a fancy womens razor.

However, this product is actually so much more than that and because I won one in a competition I was lucky enough to try it for free! I do think its well worth the price tag, but even so, a lot of retailers have had it on special introductory offers recently so you might be able to pick it up for nearer a fiver if you shop around.

The main selling point of this razor is that it is two things in one. At one end it is a standard wilkinson quattro razor blade and at the other it is a battery operated bikini trimmer. This, as any woman will tell you, is actually quite handy because it means it enables us to do what we do best (ie multitask!) whilst in the shower. To my mind anything which makes the business of hair removal quicker and easier has got to be a good thing, right!?

In the packet you will find the razor itself, one AAA battery and a nifty plastic holder for the razor to sit in snugly. I managed to follow the instructions and insert the battery as necessery very quickly and simply and switched it on to test with the bikini trimmer button located at that end of the device, it worked perfectly but the button is cleverly placed so that there is no chance of accidentally switching it on when you are using the other end.

The holder is a great little piece of kit because it has two suction pads on the back of it, this enables you to stick it firmly and securely onto the wall (or shower screen as I have done) at a height which suits you and there it will hang, out of the way but easy to reach when you want it.

I have to say that never having tried the Wilkinson range of womens razors before (i've always been a Gilette girl to date!) I was really impressed with how close the Quattro blade shaves. Having 4 blades makes for quite a wide blade but the angled head is very responsive to the curves of your body so it is very easy to use. Under my arms I was actually astonished at how clean shaven the area was left, I would say it put my usual blades to shame.

The feel of this blade is so light on your skin, when doing my legs I have to keep checking that it has worked because it feels so unlike any other razor I have previously used, there is no drag on the skin at all, it just really seems to glide over the skin with a really silky feel to it. Again with my legs I was mighty impressed with the result once my legs were dry, they were smooth and didnt feel as dry or irritated as they sometimes can post shaving.

I love having the bikini function on the other end as usually I would use a seperate bikini trimmer away from the shower but this allows you to clip and trim easily without worrying about getting it wet and the smaller bikini head allows for close and tidy trimming to exactly how you want it. It just makes the whole process so convenient.

A lot of thought has evidently gone in to the ergonomics of this product as it fits so perfectly in your hand and is light and easy to hold and use. I really like it and actually enjoy using it. I will most definitely be buying the replacement blades when this one runs out. That was my only downer on the product to be honest - that it only came with one blade, however, I do think this is worth buying the replacement blades for, because it is, without doubt, the best womens razor I have ever tried and I would be loathe to give it up now at all.

I highly recommend this product for an effective, close shave and as a very convenient way to remove unwanted hair.
