Advantages: a great razor
Disadvantages: price
I don't tend to change my razors very often, and after many disastrous years of using disposable razors, I bought myself a reusable razor and never looked back.
Wilkinson Sword is a well known trusted brand and has been trading for years. I opted for a razor by them for this reason, and also my other half always used them as well.
The Quattro for women is a nice girly pink colour, and it's teemed well with splashed of mint green. As the model suggests, the razor has four blades attached to it. These are well protected behind thin barriers to stop you cutting yourself to shreds.
The razor itself is fairly lightweight, and contoured to fit your hands well without feeling awkward. It curves in all the right places, much like women.
I have found in the years I have used this razor, it has held its price well, and still costs around £5, with replaceable blades costing about the same price for three.
With the original razor you will usually receive two blades. Sometimes if you can find this on offer, it can be cheaper to buy a new razor each time instead of a pack of blades.
Using the razor, I would always suggest using some form of shaving foam or shower gel, as without you will get a very dry shave, and this razor doesn't have a moisturising agent attached to it.
I find that each blade will last around a month with average usage being based on every other day.
Once my legs are soaped up, I find the razor glides well against my skin, and do an admirable job or removing hairs. You will find that not all hair will be removed on first movement, and you may need to re apply a couple of times to ensure a smooth leg emerges at the end. This will also be affected by the sharpness of the blade as well, but I still do this with a brand new blade.
After care for this razor isn't a lot. I have always found my skin to be well cared for after using this razor. It doesn't dry my legs out too much as long as I don't dry shave. On the odd occasion that I am in a rush, I have found that I will be left with a few ingrown hairs and dry skin patches after a day or so.
My legs will stay smooth for a good 48 hours after shaving, so I am confident the blades do a good job at giving a close shave.
Replacing the blades is done easily. There is a small catch on each side of the razor's head and when you pull these the blade can be removed. A new blade is simply clicked onto the head of the razor, and as long as you have it facing the correct way, it will fit on easily.
I hugely recommend this razor to any woman thinking of getting a reusable razor. It has done me proud in the past and touch wood I have come out unscathed with no nicks or scratches from using it.
Summary: a good reusable razor
