I am a sucker when it comes to buying new toiletries and am always keen to try something new. On holiday in France recently I came across an Yves Rocher shop. I have shopped with this company before using their website but have never seen an actual shop so was keen to see what they had of offer.
Yves Rocher is a French skincare company based in France. They sell worldwide through their on line shop, with products mainly aimed at women. The products are fairly inexpensive and they always have items on special offer.
However on this occasion I was just browsing for nothing in particular. The shop was very brightly lit although small with not the full range of products on offer. I love Yves Rocher's shower gels and have tried several in the past. Keen to try something new I spotted a bright yellow shower gel with a picture of a honeysuckle on the front of the bottle. The name Fraicheur, invigorating shampoo and shower gel also sounded promising. A cool invigorating shower gel was just what I needed in the heat! I paid my 2 euros and left.
The shower gel is sold as a 2 in 1 product meaning it can be used both as a shower gel and shampoo. The gel comes in a plastic bottle with a picture of some honeysuckle. The flip top lid is a bit awkward to open especially with wet hands. I had expected this gel to have a strong scent as other Yves Rocher shower gels have had. However I was disappointed to discover no detectable scent of Honeysuckle. The gel does have a very faint floral scent but I really couldn't say it was anything I could identify.
I also found this gel quite runny and it is all too easy to get far more that you intended as the gel runs out of the bottle very quickly. However it did lather well. After my shower my skin did feel soft but I couldn't detect any lovely scent of Honeysuckle as I had hoped.
I have tried to use this gel as a shampoo but found it left my hair feeling very dry so won't be using it again. As a shampoo it did lather well and was easy to rinse out.
Yves Rocher say this shower gel is has a Ph neutral formula enriched with softening and hydrating ingredients that respect the natural balance of skin and hair. Whilst the gel did leave my skin feeling soft I was very disappointed with the scent. I also found it very runny and not at all like a gel.
If you want to try this for yourself then it is available form the Yves Rocher web site. At the moment it is of offer for ½ price at £1 90 for a 200 ml bottle.
