Soap and Glory The Scrub of Your Life
by Sassy29
I have recently just started using lot's of Soap and Glory products and I must say I absolutely love them. I was lucky enough to get a massive goody bag of Soap and Glory products for Christmas and one of the items in the bag was The Scrub Of Your Life. This is a body scrub which you can use in the bath/shower to buff your skin. ...
Like all Soap and Glory products it comes in a trade mark baby pink coloured, squeezy, tube. To use the tube you simply flip open the hinge-type lid and squeeze the desire amount of scrub into your hand. The consistency of the scrub is very thick and creamy which lathers up with ease once in contact with the skin. The scrub is clear, with pink little exfoliation beads in it, which are rubbed into the skin to remove impurities and dead skin. The beads are not too rough on my skin and I would say it is more of a light exfoliation, which is all I need.
Once I have used this scrub my skin feels incredibly soft and smooth. I have psoriasis and this products does not irritate my skin at all. In fact I wold go as far as to say that it actually helps to remove excess skin. I have found many scrubs where the exfoliation is just not enough to make my skin feel smooth but this one certainly does the job. After I have used this scrub I normally use Sugar Crush Body Butter Cream which is also part of the Soap and Glory range. On the tube it says, ' We'd suggest you to follow all this with a Soap & Glory body moisturizer, but were biased'. I love the little witty quips which are on all Soap and Glory products, it is great reading material in the shower.
All of Soap and Glory's products have a lovely sweet, fruity smell and this once is no exception. Even after a couple of hours after use I can still smell the lovely scent of this scrub on my skin.
You can purchase this body scrub (200ml) in Boots for £7.00. This is quite expensive for a body scrub, but is well worth it. I have had my body scrub since Christmas, I probably use it three times a week, and it is only just starting to come to the end of its life. I don't tend to use much on my skin as a small dollop of scrub seems to go a long way, as it foams up really well.
Soap and Glory put a number of different quotes on there products, which I think are witty and amusing. On this body scrub Soap and Glory states:
'The ultimate super-smoothing body buffer, How you'll know it's 'the one':
* once rough elbows go suddenly silky
*dry shims become suspiciously shimmery
*the bumps are gone from the back of your arms
*you start to believe scrub can conquer all'
Overall I would definitely recommend this scrub if you want a mild exfoliation, maybe not so much if you are after a more deep exfoliation. The smell is delicious and it leaves my skin feeling smooth and soft. I love all Soap and Glory products and this one it definitely one of my favorites. Read the complete review |

Superdrug Detoxifying Dead Sea Mineral Mask
by missrarr
My day-off pampering bath times continue, my "me time" with a glass of wine and a good book (regardless of the time of day - I'm well rebellious, me).
Today was time for another one after a busy and productive day yesterday. Well, it was productive until I started quaffing wine, scoffing pizza and yelling "what ... the hell were you thinking?!" at Eurovision. Feeling slightly worse for wear, and reaching for hair of the dog, I decided it was time for a face mask.
Recently I picked up four of Superdrug's own range face masks as a break from my usual Montagne Jeunesse. The first experience I had with them was quite pleasant, so I decided to pinch another one out of my stash today. I went for the Detoxifying Dead Sea Mineral Mask. Here's how we got on...
***THE MASK***
Own-brand mask from Superdrug, so you can probably guess where I got it. These are 99p per sachet or usually on a 4-for-3 offer. They come in one-use measures in sachets with a little wave to the top and this particular one had a grey-purple type gradient of colour, the basic info, and feature a relaxed-looking woman with the usual perfectly-applied product on her face, lying down and generally looking chilled.
What's the deal with this one? Well it's a Dead Sea Mud product, renowned for its cleansing properties across most ranges of face masks and ever-popular. Those purifying qualities are matched with "nutrient-rich seaweed" to deep-cleanse the skin and Lavender oil is added to leave skin "relaxed and de-stressed".
The product is suitable for vegetarians, paraben free, and approved by the happy-bunny society.
***ANY GOOD?***
Well, having been impressed by the first Superdrug mask I used, I am amazed by this one.
To use, you cleanse and dry the face, then apply this and massage into the skin before relaxing for 10-15 minutes.
The product is a grey, slightly wetter mix than a lot of dead sea masks I have used, but doesn't run. It applies nicely and stays where you put it. On application, I enjoyed the cool, soothing feel that comes with it and the massage was pleasant - the lavender oil isn't overpowering but it certainly was present and it was relaxing and enjoyable, also taking the edge off that "muddy" sea scent that a lot of these masks have (for fairly obvious reasons!).
I sat back with my book and the 15 minutes were soon up - the mask had almost entirely dried but it didn't have that uncomfortable tight feeling and there was still flexion in it enough so that my face wasn't experiencing the delights of rigor mortis. Another plus.
At this stage the scent was still present - the oils must have been quite generous as using the mask was still enjoyable and I could happily have sat there even longer. Alas, I was now bereft over the emptiness of my wine glass so I figured I'd get off my backside and get out of the bath and in the shower to get rid of both this and my hair treatment. It rinsed away quickly and thoroughly under the shower (although being clay-based, I do have some cleaning up to do where some lumps of it have fallen and decided they like the shower basin - this stuff coats the bottom of oceans for a reason, and my shower is not Atlantic in its water pressure, I assure you).
The thing that really made me fall in love with this product is how smooth my skin felt after use. I have been concerned about my skin tone for a while - a combination of age, stress and London has left me feeling really low about my appearance lately. But after use not only did I have no tightness or dryness, my skin felt soft, smooth and healthy. REALLY smooth. I really felt like all my stressed pores had been cleansed deeply and with respect. I was so impressed, and sure enough my usual moisturiser and foundation went on a dream.
So overall, a relaxing and enjoyable treat which also really does what it is meant to, for 99p or even less if bought on offer...if this isn't worth giving the bath a wipe later, I don't know what is. I am amazed by the quality of this face mask and in the Montagne Jeunesse-style product ranges of this world, this is definitely my new favourite and I shall certainly be using it again. It is advised that you use it regularly and if that suggests that the effects can be even better over time then I shall be one very happy Miss Rarr indeed. Go forth, slap this on your face, and buy me a drink later. Read the complete review |

Montagne Jeunesse Very Berry Face Masque
by sparkle1004
I am fast becoming a fan of the Montagne Jeunesse range because they offer fun product with natural ingredients which nourish and condition the skin. One of my latest choices was the Very Berry Face Masque.
What does the product do?
The product promises to nourish the skin with the vitamins and minerals of a whole host ... of fruit including Cranberries, Peach, Blueberry and Grape. It contains Aloe Vera which soothes the skin as well as helping to leave it feeling cleansed and refreshed. The product contains antioxidants which eliminate toxins from the skin which would have otherwise caused premature aging of the skin. It is suitable for use on any skin type.
How do you use the product?
The product is to be applied to cleansed skin that has been dry. It needs to be applied all over the face, carefully avoiding the eye and mouth are, and then you leave it to get to work for between 10 and 15 minutes. You then need to rinse the product back off again with a warm flannel or warm water and then pat the skin dry. You can then follow it up with your usual moisturiser.
Packaging and Price
The product comes contained within the usual Montagne Jeunesse packaging with is a sachet. On the front there is a picture of a lady's face who is wearing the purple mask and her eyes are covered by some leaves and some blueberries. There is some more information about the product on the back of the sachet. Each one of these masques will cost you around £1 and it can be bought from stores such as Superdrug, large supermarkets and a range of online websites.
Application and Performance
The product is a beautiful pale purple colour which looks really pretty and almost matches the one on the lady's face of the packaging. It smells delicious fruity as you would expect from the name and it is a real treat to leave on the face near the nose making this a particularly summery masque. It has a thick consistency, even thicket than that of a night lotion and so you need to tear the top of the sachet wide open in order to get all of it out.
Despite its thick consistency, it is still easy to apply the product to the face and it glides over the skin without any pulling or dragging. It feel refreshing on the face immediately and it instantly removes feeling of tightness or dryness. It feels completely comfortable on the skin and didn't cause any irritations or discomfort. It smells delicious the whole time that it is on the skin and it is very easy to leave the product on the face for the whole 15 minutes. The mask doesn't harden on the face and it's a bit like leaving a thick cream on the face.
The product is a bit troublesome to remove and I found that using warm water alone takes ages. It is easier to get the majority off with a damp warm flannel and then splashing away the excess with warm water. After patting my skin dry, I noticed that my skin feel a lot smoother and softer before so this is really hydrating. It would be a good one to use after a summer holiday to get some moisture back into the skin. It leaves my complexion looking brighter and healthier, and it removes all signs of dull or flaky skin. My face feels fresh and clean after use and it didn't cause me to develop any blemishes.
Conclusion
All in all, this is lovely fruity face masque which contains lots of natural ingredients which hydrate and soften the skin. It leaves my face feeling fresh and nourished, and my complexion looking brighter and healthier. It looks pretty and smells completely delicious and I will definitely be buying this one again.
