Boots Naturals Wild Strawberry Face Mask
by Abski2001
Boots Naturals Wild Strawberry Face Mask
I love anything strawberry flavoured, be it food, drinks or beauty products. I was roaming around Boots and saw this wild strawberry face mask on the shelf and couldn't resist. I am not a regular face mask user but try and do one every couple of months being as they are meant to be ... beneficial to your skin.
The face mask comes in a single plastic sealed sachet, this has a pale pink background with a face painted on the front. The face has the face mask plastered on and there are cute little strawberries painted onto this. This is from the Boots Natural Collection range and costs £1 for a 10 ml sachet which is intended for a single use.
To use the face mask you tear open the sachet, there is a small slit in the top of the packet, but I find it is easier and less messy to just cut across the top. You obviously apply this face mask to clean and dry skin so I make sure that all of my make-up is removed and most often put these on when I am having a bath so that I can leave it on for a while without worrying about touching it.
The face mask cream itself is made up of a light coloured pink clayey substance. It is very smooth and silky feeling and smells amazing of lovely summer wild strawberries, nice and sweet and fragrant. The instructions state that you should apply this evenly over your entire face, making sure that you avoid contact with your eyes and mouth and leave it on for around twenty minutes. I tend to leave mine on for longer than this just to get the full benefits (and my money's worth!).
The face mask feels smooth and cooling on my skin and it left my skin feeling refreshed and hydrated. You can smell the lovely strawberries whilst it is working its magic on your face. The ingredients include the wild strawberry which is meant to help smooth and soften your skin and the clay draws out any impurities and excess oil. To remove the mask you simply wash it off completely and this is very easy and hassle free. The results are good, my skin does feel enriched and smooth after using this, but I have used better face masks. The bonus with this is the lovely smells you get whilst wearing it!
Overall I probably won't be buying this face mask too often, it was pleasant enough and left my skin feeling nice but I think there are better quality face masks on the market. This is only available in Boots and costs £1 which is quite good for a refreshing and fruity face mask. Read the complete review |

Boots No 7 Beautiful Skin Cleansing Lotion
by Simba1805
The first time I used this product was when I was snooping around in my mums room looking at all of her cosmetic products and looking to see what new products she had got that I could test out. My mum has always sworn by No7 products, and I was interested to see what all of the fuss was about. After using this just once, I was converted! ... it felt so nice on my skin, more like it was being moisturised than cleaned, but it still managed to leave it make-up free and looking clean and fresh.
It has a delicate clean fragrance, I can't really pin down what it smells like, but it is definitely a pleasant one! Whilst this is for normal/dry skin, No7 has a range for all skin types. Although I have only used cleansers to remove make-up in the past, I remember using this on my skin after wearing no make-up and being astonished to find that the cotton pad still came off really quite dirty - something which I really hadn't expected and has prompted me to cleanse everyday without fail, irrespective of whether I have worn make-up that day! At £9 for a bottle, it is more expensive than make-up wipes that I had been buying, but I find myself buying it so much more infrequently than make-up wipes that I believe it works out cheaper, although perhaps not as cheap as cleansers from other ranges. Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula
by kat1234
When I was pregnant with my son I was determined to look after my skin and avoid any stretch marks. I read lots of reviews on products to use and also welcomed recommendations from friends and family. A couple of suggestions seemed more popular than others and one of those was this cocoa butter body lotion from Palmers.
At ... around £3 for a 250ml bottle (currently £3.77 in Boots) it was also one of the cheapest options available too. The lotion is described as a 'rich and creamy lotion made from pure cocoa butter enriched with vitamin E'. The bottle is white plastic with a flip lid to squeeze the lotion through. To me, the packaging and labelling is very basic and a little old fashioned looking too. The lotion itself is a creamy consistency and a yellow cream in colour. It smells very sweet, almost sickly, which is the smell of the cocoa butter. It feels quite rich on the skin and takes some time to rub in and to be absorbed entirely, which isn't terribly convenient but does feel quite luxurious. The sweet smell also remains quite strongly on the skin for several hours after use which , personally, I wasn't too keen on as it was so sweet.
Over time, using this every night, my skin definitely felt softer and much more moisturised. I didn't get any stretch marks either but I wouldn't attribute this directly to my use of this lotion although I am sure it helped. The lotion is also said to help blend marks and scars although I can not comment on it's effectiveness in this area as I didn't use it for this purpose. I personally preferred to use a body butter on my expanding belly as these felt richer and I could choose different scents. However, this lotion is a good price and certainly does moisture the skin well so I would recommend it, if you like sweet scents! Read the complete review |
