Avon Clearskin Blemish Clearing Peel Off Mask
by little-star
As an avon representative I tend to buy a lot of products to try out so when my customers ask me about the products I can give them a truthful opinion rather than them sending back products which they didn't like. So I decided to try this new blemish clearing peel off mask as I do get a few spots so hoped this would help and I prefer ... peel off masks as they aren't as messy as normal face masks. This product was on offer for £1.75 so I thought I'd give it a try.
The clearskin range are all good priced products but I was hoping that this wouldn't be reflected in the quality. They are all the same simple design, white with the purple clearskin logo. The peel off mask came in a 75ml tube with the lid at the bottom which makes it easier to get out all the remaining product from the bottom. The problem which I did have with the lid though was that it was very stiff to open and close. I ended up having to leave it slightly open and stand the tube upside down leaning against my other products so that I didn't have the same trouble again trying to get into it when I next used it. As the lid was left open that meant that the face mask had dried up on the end so I had to peel it off before using it.
It says on the instructions to apply to your skin at night and leave on overnight and peel off the following morning, I was shocked to discover it should be left on for such a long time as all other face masks I've used needed to be removed within 20 minutes. It was easy to squeeze the liquid out onto my finger so that I could apply it to my face and it spread easily and evenly over my skin. The liquid looked clear but with a slight shade of lilac to it. It had dried within about 15 minutes but as soon as I moved my mouth it started peeling off all around my mouth so I could feel the mask hanging off my face. It was irritating me being able to feel it not suck down so I had to tear off the part which wasn't stuck down. I went to bed and left it on but when I woke up the next day most of it was already peeled off over my pillow and hair so all that was left was odd strips mostly near my hairline. The leftover bits were easily peeled off but when looking in the mirror my skin didn't look any different than the day before, it felt slightly softer but not much.
Overall I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone. It didn't help to clear any blemishes and was a lot of fuss having to keep it on overnight. Maybe if it only had to be left on for 20 minutes then I would of preferred it as I did like how it wasn't messy like when washing off a clay mask and was easily peeled off but I didn't like it on for too long as I could feel it stretching over my skin. Avon Clearskin Blemish Clearing Peel Off Mask
by Leanne1418
I, like a lot of women, like to take care of my skin and I often try out different face masks, face scrubs, cleansers etc. When I was flicking through the Avon catalogue I came across the clearskin blemish clearing peel off mask. I often get breakouts so I thought I would try it out. When I brought the product it was on offer (like a ... lot of Avon products are most of the time) and cost me £2 instead of £4.
When it came it was in a 75ml squeezey plastic bottle with the lid on the bottom. It is good that the lid is on the bottom as the contents comes out easily without having to shake or squeeze the bottle too hard. However the lid was quite stiff to open and then to close again, so if you didn't close it properly it could quite easily squeeze out. The bottle is a simple design but does the job; it is just white with purple writing telling you what the product is, it also has a small purple logo. On the back of the bottle is all of the relevant information that you need including the ingredients and a clear description of how to use.
The product itself is clear in colour and quite thick and sticky. It has quite a strong smell that isn't very nice, it smells (to me) like chemicals or glue, it definitely does not smell like something you would use on your face.
In the instructions is says to use every evening and leave on your face over night to dry. I used exactly as the instructions said and applied a thin layer before going to bed. I soon realised that I was in for quite a messy night. I climbed into bed and tried to go to sleep, trying to keep all of my hair (which is fairly long) away from my face so that it didn't stick to my face. I also had to try and keep my head still so that I didn't smear the sticky, wet mask all over the pillow. It wasn't the most comfortable night sleep and I got fed up with it when I woke up for about the 10th time at around 4am and peeled it off. When I got up in the morning my skin felt oily and greasy. I looked in the mirror, i wasn't expecting miricales but i saw no difference in fact my skin looked worse because it now looked greasey as well.
I have tried the product a couple more times but got the same result. Overall I was not impressed with this product and would not use it again or recommend any one else to use it either. Read the complete review |

Avon Care Rich Moisture Face Cream
by MsTricia
I am generally quite particular about what I put on my face, and for the past few years or so I have been using Avon care rich moisture range on my face as it is gentle, and really cheap! Ages ago now Avon had an offer on these tubs so I have about 3 lined up ready to use as they take me ages to get through!
The face cream ... comes in a simple blue and green tub, with a basic label and has a screw top deep blue lid. The lid is easy to open and secure, so no fuss about trying to get into it! I prefer tubs, as it is really easy to dip a hand in and get cream with ease - being able to wipe the tub clean also means no wastage!
The colour of the face cream is white with a slight green tint to it and smells quite neutral with a soft perfumed smell. The texture of it is not particularly solid, it is quite light and gentle, and has a slightly whipped texture to it. It's slightly runny so that if you were to drop the tub, guaranteed, the face cream would all plop to the floor! However, I do not mind this consistency too much and it doesn't feel all watery and like a waste of money.
The face cream is really quite soft and gentle upon application on my skin and it absorbs in really easily leaving my face feel well nourished and moisturised. After washing my face, it always feels really dry and strained, and I feel this cream helps to restore natural moisture and gentleness to my skin. It isn't greasy and doesn't leave my face shiny so it strikes a really optimum balance. A little of this cream actually goes a really long way, as I merely dip 2 fingers in and gather a bit on the tips and this is more than enough to apply all over my face - so the longevity of the tub is really worth the 99p I paid as it lasts ages!
Overall, I love this face cream and have had no problems using it. It doesn't irritate or have any harsh qualities, but is a gentle, neutral face cream which is cheap and helps my skin retain moisture and is a brilliant base for when I apply makeup. It prevents my face feeling dry all day, leaves my face soft and smooth and a 200ml tub only costs me 99p! (When it was on offer in the brochure I should add!) I couldn't ask for much else, so I would recommend this. Read the complete review |
