Boots No 7 Protect and Perfect Night Cream
by anwar7
I have always been a fan of the No7 make up and skin care range as I think it is equally as good as many of the top end brands. In 2009 the Horizon TV programme featured an article about the No 7 protect and perfect anti aging cream from Boots. Research undertaken by Manchester University had showed that 1/5 of women using the range for ... 6 months or more would actually see an improvement in their skin. This caused a run of the range with it selling out in both stores and online.
The cream
**********
The protect and perfect night cream is part of the Boots anti aging skin care range aimed at women in the 25-35 year age bracket. For older women there is the intense range (35-45) or the lift and laminate range (45-60). All three ranges feature a number of products including beauty serum, eye cream, lip cream and day and night time moisturisers. I have been using both the beauty serum and day moisturisers for several years now and really feel they help keep wrinkles at bay. Recently I decided to give the night time moisturiser a try as my skin was feeling in need of a bit more nurturing after a dose of the flu.
Like the day moisturisers the night version comes in a clear plastic jar with a black lid. The jar actually looks like glass. The white cream can be viewed through the jar. I like the packaging as although simple, it looks stylish.
The cream is quick thick and has a faint clean smell to it. It is hypo allergenic and so is suitable for all skin types.
My opinion.

I apply this cream every night before I go to bed. I first clean my skin with a face wash and then pat it dry. This removes all traces of make up and grime. Then I apply a small amount of the cream and massage it into my face and neck area gently. It is really easily absorbed and doesn't feel greasy or heavy. I really like the thought that this cream is helping my skin as I sleep!
After several weeks use I my skin really does feel and look better. It is certainly less dry than it was and feels soft and smooth. Overall I can recommend this night cream as it is equally as good as the other products in the range. It is not the cheapest night cream on the market and a 50 ml jar will set you back by £23. However it is often on promotion. Read the complete review |

Boots No7 Beautiful Skin BB Cream Normal / Oily
by misslopi
I first heard about BB creams a year or so ago and was immediately interested as I liked the idea of a light coverage with all the benefits of a facial cream. The first bb cream that I tried was from number 7 as I bought it when it was on promotion for 3 number 7 products for the price of two.
I usually like number 7 make-up ... and skin creams but this wasn't nearly as nice as I had hoped it was going to be. It was okay but I couldn't see what all the fuss was about to be honest and it wasn't until I tried another brand that I really seen the benefits of using a bb cream instead of a foundation.
It isn't even that the number 7 bb cream is cheap as it isn't because it costs £12.95 and I think this is taking it into the territory of more expensive designer brands. I bought the bb cream which is for normal to oily skin as my skin can be a little greasy looking when I have moisturiser on it but it also comes in formula for dryer skin.
I actually wish that I had got the one for dryer skin to try first as I thought this was a little bit thick and not really greasy enough to apply to my skin easily. It was really thick and at first I couldn't see much difference between this and a proper foundation as it was really thick and clagy.
I bought the medium and although I tried it on my hand before buying it I should probably have plumped for the light as the medium was a little dark and even though my natural skin tone is not that fair it was still a little bit dark for me.
Although it felt thick and heavy when it was actually all rubbed in I thought it gave me a nice looking complexion. My complexion was noticeably improved while wearing it and looked much softer and almost dewy. The dewy look was nice as it wasn't shiny as such just a little bit glowing.
I just wish it had been a little bit less thick as I bought it because I wanted something that was going to be light feeling on my skin for spring but still give me a little bit of coverage. I could actually feel this on my skin and although I liked how it looked I didn't like the heavy feeling especially when I could get better coverage from my normal foundation which actually didn't even feel as heavy as this did.
The number 7 bb cream gave a nice level of coverage for my skin and evened it out while giving a nice glow but I just didn't like how heavy and thick it was as I was expecting something lightweight and this didn't do that. Read the complete review |

Boots No7 For Men Energising Face Scrub
by DanteCubit
I have been using this Boots No 7 facial scrub for a good few years now. I keep coming back to it because quite simply it works well for me. It is usually pretty expensive in my opinion anyway at around £7.50 for a 150ml. You're best to pick it up when Boots run the £5 off No 7 products offer on and off throughout the year (usually you ... are given a voucher when you buy anything in store and if you are going to buy 2 of these just buy 2 of anything really cheap and pay separately to score two vouchers). My skin can be pretty oily at times and prone to blocked pores if I have been doing a lot of manual work. I find that by given my face a good wash / scrub with this every few days improves my skin no end and leaves me feeling really fresh faced and confident. Also I find when scrubbing with this it is good at freeing up any in grown hairs I may have as I'm usually a borderline dog faced boy. Almost forgot to mention that the packaging has also recently changed so look for a black tube with yellow and white writing. Spent ages searching the shop when I hadn't realised the packaging was no longer bronze coloured. Not as keen on the new packaging as it feels cheaper to the touch and looks like a poor haircare product now as does the whole of the mens No 7 range.
Compared to many other scrubs designed for male skin it is very thick which makes it very to work firmly into my skin and just doesn't run off my face like most of the cheaper watery alternatives. It leaves my face looking fresh and weirdly almost glowing like when my wife was pregnant! After using it I also find that I achieve a far closer shave than normal. It also smells good ; a masculine menthol hit though it doesn't linger or over power whatsoever. It can leave your skin feeling a little tight afterwords but this can easily be countered by a good moisturiser. Macho I know. Read the complete review |
