Caudalie Vinexpert Anti Ageing Serum Eyes & Lips
by busybeeme
I received this Caudalie Anti-Aging serum for lips and eyes about 6 months ago as a present from my lovely sister, who clearly felt I was looking older having become a mum! I believe she paid around 35 pounds for the product from a chemist in Covent Garden, and it comes in a 15 ml pump pot, so this is clearly not a cheap product. ...
The serum contains camomile, buckwheat wax and white lily for dark circles, as well as Caudalie's wonder ingredient, resveratrol from the grapevine, which is supposed to contain amazing anti-ageing properties. The product has been designed to target fine lines and wrinkles, and so is an ideal 'first' anti-aging product.
How does it feel? Well, it is an incredibly lightweight serum, and a little goes a long way, so half a pump is plenty for both eyes. It feels deliciously cool and refreshing when applied to around my eyes, and I can honestly say that I noticed that under-eye puffiness decreased quite dramatically when I used this in the morning. I also used it around my top lips, mostly to soothe them as I have quite sore and dry lips, but this product didn't really help and I found my normal Organic lipbalm to work much better.
The product has a light scent similar to many other Caudalie products, and it is refreshing and not at all overpowering.
I liked that the product contains good quality, natural ingredients and natural extracts, and it is so light, easily absorbed and soothing that I think it would definitely be suitable for sensitive skins.
However, on the anti-aging front I can't honestly say that I noticed any difference, even after using the product most mornings for a month. The effects were also temporary, if I forgot to use the product, the puffiness returned, so I can't honestly say that the product has made any longterm improvement to my puffiness, lines or dark circles. It's also an extra product to have to remember to put on the morning, and according to the instructions some lymph massage around the area is also recommended. Well....that's just not going to happen when I'm trying to get two little boys ready in the morning! Therefore, I have been using the product less and less not because I dislike it, but simply because it's not amazing enough for me to put in the extra effort to use it, and I tend to just stick on my moisturiser instead in the morning ( and I'm quite happy if I can find the time to do that!).
Would I spend 35 pounds of my own money on it? No, for the price, I don't think the results are good enough. But for my child-free Caudalie loving sister, who is getting a first few wrinkles and has the time to massage in the morning and put on 6 products, it might just make a good present. Caudalie Cleansing Water

Caudalie Cleansing Water (30ml)
I received this product as part of a starter set from Caudalie which contained five minis and the set was priced at just under £10 I think and this product was included. I have been using this product as a toner and like all of the other caudalie products I have tried - it is great!
- ... Product description (from salonskincare.co.uk)
"Cleansing Water cleanses and removes makeup perfectly. Its non-irritating formula filled with active ingredients leaves the skin soothed and moisturized with a perfect clean feeling. For all skin types: even the most sensitive. Ideal for those wanting an effective cleansing and moisturizing lotion in one."
- About the product
I received this product as part of a starter/mini set and it is the 30ml bottle, which would be great for travelling. The cleansing water is suitable for all skin types and sensitive eyes. The product is made in France, it is soap free, it doesn't contain parabens and it is ophthalmologically and dermatologically tested.
- Using the product and results
I have been using this product as a toner after my cleanser and before my moisturiser. The product itself does look just like water, it is very runny and it is clear - but it smells like cucumbers, which I like but others may not. To use as a toner I have been dispensing some of the water onto a cotton pad and sweeping it over my face, eyes and neck before I apply my moisturiser. The first couple of times I used this product I did experience very slight irritation but it really wasn't anything major and it definitely didn't stop me from using this product and after those first couple of times I then didn't experience any irritation. This product works well as a toner I find as it just clears and refreshes the skin and makes sure that all of my cleanser or face mask has been removed before I apply my moisturiser.
The toner feels really light, fresh and refreshing on the skin which makes it nice to use and it is a quick and easy process. The scent of the product is evident when using but when the cleansing water has dried off the skin the scent isn't noticeable. I have tried using this product as a makeup remover too and it does remove some of my makeup really well but it doesn't get rid of all of it and it is best used as a toner, in my opinion. I have now used this product up and I think I would buy it again although I am happy with my Lush Eau Roma Water Toner instead but I would recommend this product for use as a toner.
- Price and availability
I bought this product as part of a mini/travel set which was priced at around £10 and this product can be bought individually from feelunique.co.uk for £13.50 for the 200ml bottle. This product can also be bought for a similar priced at: cult beauty, Boots (for £15), Hqhair (£18 for 400ml) and ebay.

Caudalie Beauty Elixir
by rachieb123
I have recently heard this product raved about by many beauty bloggers, so decided to give it whirl and see if it really does live up to the hype.
Caudalie are a leading french skincare brand, with french skincare generally being considered to be of a high standard, I had good hopes for this product. It is inspire by the ... 'elixir of youth' used by Queen Isabelle of Hungary, adding to the allure of product as being a luxurious treatment. The product boasts many benefits, such as smoothing the skin, tightening the pores and providing radiance to the complexion of the wearer. The main ingredients are: extracts of grape essential oil of rosemary, orange blossom and rose extracts, benzoin, myrrh essential oils of oraganic balm mint and mint. The mint leads to a very strongly scented product, which on initial application is a little to strong for my liking, however it does fade quickly into a much softer scent which is great.
So does it fulfill all of its beauty claims? Yes and no, the product definitely refreshes the face and over time it begins to provide more radiance to the skin, likely because it has ingredients which promote clearing and rejuvenating of the skin. In terms of tightening pores, I have some large pores around my nose area and I cannot say I have seen any noticeable difference from using this product, which was a shame as it was one of the benefits I was really hoping would happen! The product does promote smoother skin, it is very nourishing and provides some moisturising affects, which helps maintain soft skin.
Overall I would say the product is worth some hype, but perhaps not quite the amount it has been receiving recently. It is a good product, but I cannot say it provided such stunning effects that I would continue to spend around £10 for a 30ml bottle. If used everyday, the product wont last longer then a month and if you are using it as a facial spray in the day it will run out even quicker! So, the beauty elixir gets a 3/5 from me, with a point lost for price and one for not having any effect on my pore size.
This product can be bought from many online retailers, as well as most larger boots stores. Read the complete review |
