Eve Lom Cleanser
by Busybell
I really wanted to like this product, afterall the vast majority of reviews for the Eve Lom cleanser, say what a wonder product it is.
In the past I had always been put off by the cost of it, however on a trip to Space NK I got seduced into trying it, after the assistant has said it would help with exfoliation. So, excitedly ... off I trotted with a three day sample. My skin is classic combination with an oily t zone and I do tend to use oil free moisturisers as anything too rich can give me breakouts. I have to admit within the first few days my skin looked ok and I like the fact that I didn't need to use a moisturiser.
So, it was the time to treat myself to a 50ml pot of it and on reflection I am glad I went for the smallest pot. I have never had such a bad reaction to a skincare product before. Within a couple of days I had the largest painful boils appear on my chin; it felt like they were multiplying by the hour. I continued to use the cleanser for a further four days, hoping that I was having an odd hormonal blip, but the spots just got worse and worse. I can only put it down to the high percentage of mineral oil in this product which must clog pores! I am so disappointed that I spent so much money on a product that had such a terrible reaction for me. I can't even say to try this first as obviously I did this, but perhaps not for long enough.
One week on from ceasing using the cleanser my skin is clearing up, but where the large boils were, I now have tons of blackheads.
This cleanser clearly works for many people, as there wouldn't be so many great reviews, but for me it is probably the worst cleanser I have ever used. Read the complete review |

Eve Lom Cleanser

I don't usually review products, even though I am a complete product junkie and have tried them at all. However I am going to write one today. The reason being that this product is totally worth the money. This cleanser made an immediate difference. So I was hooked. But my obession with 'the next big thing' never ended. So I tried more ... cleansers of the same ilk, but they were never really the same. To date I've tried:-
- Liz Earle
- Darphin
- Elemental Herbology
- Vaishaly(Stung my eyes out!)
- Clarins
- Soap & Glory
But I always come back to Eve Lom and there is a very good reason for that - nothing has ever come close to the way my skin feels after cleansing with Eve Lom cleanser. Now I use it with my Clarisonic and I see a big difference. Smooth, clean skin, no spots. Read the complete review |

Eve Lom Cleanser

I tried the Eve Lom Cleanser two days ago as I was given a sample and had heard rave reviews about it. Now wish I hadn't.
I have normal skin, and my eyes are slightly sensitive.
Immediately on using it my eyes started burning and this lasted a good 20 minutes or so. On drying my face after wiping away the cream ... with the muslin cloth, my skin tightened uncomfortably, like it would when you have a mud mask on. This continued for an hour or so. Finally, severe dry patches showed up, and the rest of my skin felt greasy.
Finally 48 hours later, I have tiny spots come up on my face, & since nothing else in my regime has changed, I can only assume it's the Eve Lom.
I'm going straight back to my trusted Chanel cleanser - I'm not saying that Eve Lom is completely rubbish, but it obviously does depend on your skintype and it won't necessarily suit you. I now have my fingers crossed that my normally almost flawless skin clears up quickly. Read the complete review |
