Garnier B.B. Cream Miracle Skin Perfector Light
by xxfoxyredxx
For a long time now I've been reading and hearing alot about BB Creams and the likes. Intrigued and impressed by what I heard I decided it was about time I tried it to see what all the fuss was about and I opted in the end to buy Garnier B.B Cream in the Light option as I have a very fair skin-tone.
What is B.B ... Cream?:
Basically it can be used as in place of moistuiser, as a make up base, a concealer or as a foundation! Its a very versatile product.
The Packaging:
The tube comes in a black and dark green box with a picture of the tube on the front of it and we are clearly told what it is and who it is by and that it can be used daily and is meant to give immediately perfected skin 'Evens tone + boosts glow, Blurs imperfections, Smoothes fine lines, Gives 24h hydration and contains an SPF 15 UV protection' and that it contains Vitamin C + mineral Pigments and that it is Dermatologically Tested and then other information listed on the other sides of the box includes being told a bit more about the product, the ingredients are listed, I am told that my tube is 50ml in size and contact details for the manufacturer are clearly given. Inside the box you get a squeezy light bronze coloured plastic tube and on that again we are told what it is and who it is by on the front of it, on the back we are told in many languages what it is, the size is stated (as I have listed already) and contact details for the manufacturer are again given and it has a white plastic flip top opening to the base of it and the product is easy to squeeze out of the small hole it has which is concealed by that.
Using It:
I use this instead of a plain moisturiser or in place of my usual foundation and I find the B.B Cream is quite thick however a little does go a long way and it has no fragrance to it at all and is really simple and straightforward to blend leaving my skin with a dewy look which is not one bit and my skin feels really smooth to the touch and it feels hydrated too for ages.
This product makes claims that it 'can help' with dullness issues, covering up imperfections, help to tone down redness and sunspots and to help with the appearance of wrinkles.
However although I find this ok at making my general skin-tone look a bit more even it doesn't really help with any redness I have and although I think my skin looks brighter and slightly fresher for using it and for a good few hours too this doesn't lighten up some discoloured skin I have on my forehead or to lighten and even up the skin that is rather freckled and dark on certain areas of my face which is why I bought this in the first place to be honest.
For me this is simply a tinted moisturiser that is pleasant enough to use on a day to day basis rather than heavy enough for evening wear, it does stay put rather well and it does make my skin feel nice and soft and its easy enough to remove at the end of the day with my usual make up removing routine however I am not overly impressed with this product and was expecting more from it!
This is available in various sizes and this tube cost me £6.66 for my 50ml tube from Amazon and it is stocked in Boots and Superdrug and the likes. Read the complete review |

Garnier Skin Naturals Moisture Match
by Helrobs
I have always liked Garnier face creams and I had been itchy to try this new range since it was first launched. As I was trying to be very good with my pennies after Christmas I told myself I couldn't buy any as I had been given another product as a present and so I had to wait. By the time the end of January came round however, my ... resolve had broken, and with £2 off the RRP of £5.99 I felt that fate was telling me I should try.
What's all the fuss?
So, why was I so desperate to try this? It's surely just a mid range moisturiser I hear you say. But no! The whole premise behind this range is that the five creams within it are completely different and tailored exactly to different skincare problems, hence being called the Moisture Match series. Garnier claim that they can match the right kind of moisture to the right issues. The moisturisers available are:
-Protect and Glow Illuminting Light Lotion
-Goodbye Dry Ultra Hydrating Rich Cream
-Shine Be Gone Matifying Fresh Cream
-Wake Me Up Revitalising Gel
-Start Afresh Light Softening Cream
The variety of Gels, lotions and Creams means there should literally be something for everyone. After much deliberation I went for the Wake me up Revitalising Gel as my skin looked really dull due to the cold winter months dragging on.
The Product:
Wake me Up Revitalising Gel comes in a box, and then a short squat orange tube with a white flip top (well bottom) It is 50mls and the packaging is just plain and simple, the Garnier logo on the top and the information about the product covering the rest of the tube. As I say I was attracted to this as at the time I had dull skin and I wanted something that would moisturise but also make my skin look fresh. The gel is enriched with citrus extract and hibiscus flowers and has particles which are supposed to burst on contact with the skin to offer extra hydration.
The gel has a lovely, fresh citrus scent which is just lovely, its like a mini wake up call for your face when you first apply it but the scent disappears quickly once it's rubbed in, exactly what you want from a gel. As it is a gel rather than a cream it is quite a wet product in consistency. This means it take a bit longer to sink into your skin and it is quite easy to put too much on. It's a consistency I have found a little odd to be honest, I find it hard to judge how much to use and often find that parts of my face feel sticky and greasy whilst others feel like they haven't been moisturised at all. Personally I don't like the feel of this gel on my skin and I am conscious of it on my skin all day, I can really feel the trace of it under the rest of my makeup. This may be my fault as maybe another product in the range would be better for me, I do have quite dry skin and so Goodbye dry may have been better.
The Verdict:
Whilst the Gel has a lovely smell, for me it is not the ideal product. Rather than brightening my face it makes it look greasy, an issue I have never had before. However, I could see this Gel working on other skin types. Perhaps if your skin is less dry and just a little dull it would work well. As for me, I think I will stick to creams. Garnier B.B. Cream Miracle Skin Perfector Light
by shirleyleunicorn
I am a light user of foundation and concealer from time to time. Following all this craze about BB creams that has lasted ages, I decided to try this Garnier BB Cream which I thought would be a good way to save time and, well, the way people were going on about it I thought that I really could
One small 50ml tube of BB cream ... cost me almost £10 (£9.99 to be exact) at my Boots store; expensive for a foundation, but surprisingly cheap for a miracle.
The BB cream is packaged in a tube (once you remove it from its cardboard box outer packaging) with a flip open and flip close lid. There is the Garnier logo on the top front and the product name below on the back is basically BB cream translated into 9 different languages. Overall, quite average looking, nothing that really stands out, either good or bad, about it. There are no instructions for use on the actual tube and by the time I realised I had already thrown the cardboard packaging away. Still, it looked pretty simple to operate. You simply squeeze to push the cream out. It is not quite as formal as you maybe would have expected from a foundation; this reminds me more of a facial moisturiser or cleanser tube. But that doesn't bother me. What bothers me is that I find this BB cream quite ineffective.
The texture is just like you would find with foundation, so I applied it just like I would with foundation. The cream blends in to your face after a while, but with no visible difference. I thought that the mixture was a tiny bit on the greasy side and all day I felt like there was something on my face (particularly with my forehead) that I didn't want to be there. Not a particularly comfortable experience I can tell you.
I have a problem. On the tube it states that it is a 'Miracle Skin Perfector', in quite big green letters as well. I really don't see it. I think most low end concealers could have done a better job, and really, I see no visible difference. So in effect, this is nothing but an overpriced, not that effective foundation which I could obtain for a few pounds at most. That is no miracle. And the worst thing is, I still have an almost full tube of near useless Garnier BB cream at hand which I paid quite a handsome sum for.
My only praise for it is its smell, which smells lightly sweet and fruity which beats some of the horrible chemical smelling foundations available. But if I wanted a nice scent, I would have bought some perfume instead.
Maybe it's just me that doesn't like it, as I have friends who have raved on about its usefulness. However, judging by the number of low star ratings for this product on Dooyoo, I have to conclude that this is indeed an overrated product not worth the trouble of dealing with. It just doesn't live up to its expectations. With that in mind, I would not recommend this product and would give it 1 out of 5 stars. The 1 star is for trying. Read the complete review |
