Garnier Skin Naturals Moisture Match
by xxfoxyredxx
Recently I have been been running down my face moisturiser collection on purpose......I simply had loads of tubes and bottles half used or ones that I wasn't keen on and kept avoiding using and they really needed sorting through so pleased I was when I actually had none as it meant that I could go out and treat myself with no guilt to ... something that I did feel that I needed!
I'm quite often in Superdrug due to going there once a week for quitting smoking from an adviser and whilst she sorts out my nicotene replacement supply I go off looking instore nd the other week I went to have a look at the moiturisers and spotted this range I hadn't actually seen before costing only £3.99 a tube on offer from the usual price of £5.99 and I actually bought a couple of different tubes and the one I am reviewing here is called 'Protect & Glow though there were a few different formulations to choose from and I really had no clue what to go for so it was a bit of a punt on my part.
The Packaging:
This comes in a yellow and white oblong box and on the front of it we are clearly told that it is Garnier Moisture Match Protect & Glow and that it has an SPF of 20 and then other information on the box includes being told a bit about the product and how to use it, the ingredients are listed, the size is stated which is 50ml and contact details for the manufacturer are stated. The tube looks similar to the box, is a squeezy plastic tube and contains much the same information as stated on the box too. Nice enough packaging this is and its aneasy to use tube it is too with a lid/cap to the bottom of it which conceals a small hole and twists on/off with ease.
Using It:
Well I do is apply this to my clean face, morning or evening whenever I want to. I can use this on its own, under a primer, under a moisturiser.
The cream is a cream in colour, pretty unscented apart from a really, really light scent of fruit to it which is pleasantly but slightly sweet. I need a seriously small amount to smear over my skin, I dot it about my face and gently massage it in......a little goes a very long way indeed but it isn't greasy but it does take a while to sink in.
This really does moisturise and soften my skin, I think it does brighten my complexion but only a bit but sadly once make up is applied over the top of it this doesn't seem to do much at all apart from make my skin feel hydrated and for a good while too.
I do think this is softening though I don't feel this softens my fine lines and wrinkles at all or does it keep them at bay but my skin does feel supple but only when this is on my skin and I don't feel that it offers me any long term effects.
I'm on the fence with this one. Its an ok moisturiser and makes my skin feel nice and not as tight when its on but it doesn't really add much brightness to my face and it does take a while for it to sink into my skin even though I only use a few dots of it per use. I think its not a bad product for the price I paid but not worth almost six quid....unless you like it lol.
Available from all good supermarkets and chemists and so on. Read the complete review |

Garnier Youthful Radiance Caffeine Anti Dark Circles 2 in 1 Tinted Eye Roll On
by KittyKate100
I bought this not for my extra dark circles, but I do have a bit of shadowing that I wanted covering. I wouldn't say it was the most expensive under-eye product out there but for £9.99 I expected it to work a little better. I have since seen it on offer, but after this current one runs out, I can't say I'll rush to buy another, even at a ... reduced price.
The packaging looks great; it's quite elegant looking, the long curved 'tube' is easy to hold and is quite ergonomic, and it is a seductive (a creamy gold). It doesn't look like there's much in it, especially for the price, but there seems to be quite a good few uses in there. I've had mine for a good four months (granted, I don't use it every day) and I still have over a quarter left. I'd say you get approximately 140 'swpies' out of it. Of course, this container is the type that makes it difficult to see the level inside, so you may find yourself running out without much warning!
The roller-ball design is great, but I feel a little too much cream comes out with each swipe. I tend to do a half swipe and then blend along the length of my undereye. That seems to be a good amount. When the liquid is applied it feels cool and refreshing - I'm assuming that's mostly down to the caffiene in the product, and it feels like it's moisturising my skin straightaway.
The trouble I get with most skin care products, is that they look great once applied, but after a while it has an undesirable effect on my skin. This is no different. Immediately I feel the coverage is good (the light colour actually matches my skin tone very well), it feels refreshing and moisturising, and my dark circles looked a little lighter. However, after time (and I mean 30 minutes, not hours) it seems to get into my fine lines, and look dry and 'obvious'. My dark circles look no better, in fact they look worse due to the dry matt layer of concealer this product leaves.
If I could make suggestions to Garnier, I'd advise them to lower the price, make the roller ball slightly tighter/fitted so that not so much cream escapes, and (apart from making the anti-dark active ingredient work better!) make the cream dry to a more sheer finish so it reflects more light and looks less obvious and caked on (even with a thin layer).
Good try, Garnier, but nothing beats a good night's sleep (a perhaps another brand's concealer!!) Read the complete review |
