Lacura Multi Intensive Serum
by taramorg23 I wanted to try a serum for a long time but I was always put off by the hefty price tags, looking in Boots their serums were around the £20 mark. It was only while browsing in an out of date magazine in the dentist that I saw this serum. I already have the Lacura eye cream and I found this really good. The serum only costs £3.49 for ... 50ml. The bottle is frosted glass and has a pump dispenser at the top. It comes in a box which details the ingredients and how to use the serum. The serum contains ingredients found in more expensive brands such as hyaluronic acid which is said to help with an it ageing it helps to keep the skin lubricated and soft. The serum also contains sea minerals which help to promote skin regeneration and elasticity. The serum also contains vitamin e and macadamia oil which are emollients preventing moisture loss. The serum can be used alone or under normal moisturiser. The first time you use the serum you are directed to pump it a few times before use. Afterwards you only need to pump it once. The serum has a gel like consistency, it is a white colour.it spreads on the skin easily. You are advised to apply twice daily after cleansing to the face and neck. The serum spreads in easily. You can feel the gel moisturising the skin. It absorbs in really quickly into the skin and almost straight away you can apply another moisturiser if you want. I have been using this serum daily for a month now and I am really pleased with the results within a few days of use my skin was glowing and looking healthy. It also feels a lot smoother to touch and very soft. I am 28 so I don't have any fine lines or wrinkles yet but I do like to try and do as much as possible to prevent these. The serum has no SPF so I always apply a day cream separately then my make up if I am wearing any. However since using this my skin condition has improved vastly so I hardly ever need to use anything other than a BB or CC cream. I love this serum for the money you can't go wrong, my skin has felt a lot healthier since I started using it. I would recommend this serum the price is so good even if you don't like it you haven't wasted a lot of money. Read the complete review |

Aldi's Lacura Multi Intensive Serum
by Elaineee Previous to this face serum I'd been using The Body Shop's Vit E night cream. On hearing the great reviews about Aldi's face serums I thought I'd try it- at £3.49 for 50ml it was a lot cheaper. Their web site boasts this cream is 'Sunday Mirror 'Celebs on Sunday' 1st 2010', they reckon it's clinically proven to visibly reduce the ... appearance of fine lines, so I was hopeful. I popped in especially to buy it, they sell a variety of creams to suit your needs, but I choose the Multi-Intensive Serum with Coenzyme Q10 in it (only because I'd heard of Q10 on Tele). The packaging is posh it looks like a certain other expensive brand. Multi Intensive Serum with Q10 'Anti Wrinkle' is in a blue and white box, the 'Anti Ageing Serum' is in a pink and white box. It tells us that it contains Peptide Complex, Coenzyme Q10 and Aquarich, sounds good. The box has the ingredients and explains how it works- bio peptide mimox promotesactive skin relaxation, Coenzyme stimulates the skins biological functions and Aquarich deeply moisturises. I was excited- it said I was going to look radiant and youthful and I was looking forward to being ID'd when out. After getting it home I got to work, the bottle is thick glass and about 5 inches in height it looks like good quality, some of the info off the box is repeated on it. It has a pump action dispenser, you're instructed to press the pump three times to eliminate air, this was a bit tricky I thought it was broke but eventually it depressed and worked fine. The cream inside is white and with the bottle being glass you can see how much is left. I've been using this for a couple of months and it's still more than half full. Two pumps is enough to cover my face, a little goes along way. I squirted a bit out on to my finger, it doesn't come gushing so you have control over the amount you need. The consistency is quite thin, thinner than toothpaste but thicker than double cream. It's cool and light and sinks in after a good rub and a few minutes, I can still feel it on my face though but not in a sticky way. This isn't stated as a night cream, so I put it on in the morning, I don't wear foundation but would imagine it wouldn't interfere with it's application. The smell is light, fortunately it doesn't smell like the 70's as the Body Shop cream does- more kind of lemony but not really! anyway it's not strong. I've been using this for a couple of months everyday. I can't really see much improvement in my wrinkles and fine lines myself but saying that other people have commented on how my skin looks smoother. It does feel smoother, and I suppose the fine lines around my eyes do seem less obvious, the problem I have are deeper lines at the side of my mouth and these look no different at all so a bit disappointing on that front. As I say though other people have mentioned that my face definitely looks smoother. It has improved the condition of my skin and I think it's reduced the appearance of fine lines a tiny bit, but for deeper lines it's probably too late. It has caused no irritation and no more spots than usual. Would I recommend it- yes it has similar ingredients to very expensive creams at a fraction of the price. 4 Stars from me for the price. Aldi's Lacura Multi Intensive Serum
by xxfoxyredxx For quite a long time now I have been hearing a lot (on various blogs, magazine articles, and of course reviews!) about how great the Aldi range of Lacura beauty products are. I have way back tried a couple items and been rather pleased but Aldi isn't a place I frequent and so forget about them. However a couple of weeks back ... I was reading an article, (I'm not sure where now) about this product and thought it sounded excellent but forgot all about it...well that was until I popped into Aldi with my mate who wanted to go get some offers she had seen advertised on the television! I then found myself looking at the Lacura range and remembered this being referred to as amazing and at only £1.99 for a day time moisturiser opted to buy it. The Packaging: The packaging of this product is very basic indeed. It comes in a white plastic, dumpy kind of tub with a see through lid/cap that fits nicely over the pump action push down dispenser to the top of it. Around the bottle there is a white and navy coloured label with navy writing and on the front of it we are told that it is Lacura 'Face Care' Shimmering Day Cream 'With Pro-Vitamin B5, Defensil And Botanical Oils' and that it is 'Soothing And Moisturising' and is meant for Normal/Sensitive skin. On the back of the bottle other information listed includes being told a little bit about the product and how to use it, the ingredients are listed as is the size (which is 50ml and the only size this is available to purchase in) and contact details for Aldi are given. A Bit About The Product According To The Information On The Back Of The Tub: Lavura products are carefully formulated with the finest ingredients to provide the perfect daily skincare routine. You can trust Lacura to gently care for your skin as each product is dermatologically tested. This shimmering day cream contains light pigments which will give a silky-shimmering effect, making the skin appear more even and radiant and is enriched with Defensil, a special complex which will help protect sensitive skin. The Moisturiser Itself: Well we are told on the back of the tub of this to use it after cleansing the face and neck and that it is ideal for use under foundation. The liquid is pure white and to me smells delicious and of natural pears. I really like the fresh fragrance of this one and once applied that fragrance does linger for an hour or so freshly on the skin before disappearing. I find that one pumpful of this which is actually a very small amount covers my face and neck really easily and it feels cool and soothing when being applied with no agitation given to my very sensitive skin at all. However this is actually the worst product I have ever applied to my face! Its simply disgusting! The liquid is very smooth and silky and with body to it but its still an easy to apply lotion. There is no glitter in it and it looks just like a moisturising lotion and nothing more than that....at first. However on contact with the skin you get a heavy gold shimmer....and I mean really heavy. Think like a gold glitter ball it looks so unnatural and the more you apply to the skin the more it cakes up and really sits on the skin looking patchy and giving a bad overall shine to the face and nothing about this looks natural on even if applying the smallest amount. If I remove it, it comes off on my make up removing wipes gold (or on cotton wool and with cleanser and toner or whatever). Under foundation is a deffo no no for me. Its so shiny it shows through my foundation but my liquid foundation will not sit on it and I go even more patchy with big clumps of mess I can't blend into my face, it looks awful. This makes me look so shiny and shows every imperfection I have on my face such as open pores and the odd spot and actually makes my face feel grimy and feels as greasy as it looks. With the added shimmer I just can't see how this is good for my skin at all. Its like a make up with that crap in it that makes the shimmer and it certainly doesn't soften my skin and although I tried using it for a few days my skin really didn't feel healthier I just got a comment off an ex boyfriend that asked if I'd gone a bit overboard on fake tan! I expected to like this as I wanted a dewy complextion plus a little gentle moisturising but I really didn't get it and this is now heading straight for the dustbin at a hundred miles an hour. Its simply awful and I really do recommend not even looking at this. Its not often I hate a beauty product with a passion and I can usually find a way of using even the not best of my purchases but this....well! Only available in Aldo stores costing £1.99 a tub.
