Nivea Daily Essentials BB Cream
by karlsm93
I had been using Garnier BB cream which I had very much liked, however when it was running low recently, I went to get more and noticed that TEsco were selling this Nivea BB cream for a fiver for the same quantity as the Garnier I usually buy but for a lot cheaper, and I thought, with Nivea being a reputable company, it was worth a try ... at a fiver for a 50ml tube.
On the front of the box, this Nivea BB cream makes 5 claims (a 5 in 1 product!) - to even, cover, illuminate, moisturise and protect your skin from premature ageing(SPF 10). It also claims to include minerals and provitamin B5 and be quickly absorbed on the skin.
There are two different tones of this BB cream, but since my skin is reasonable fair, I decided light would be better (the same as the Garnier BB cream). THis however is probably the biggest flaw with the product, and something that needs to be corrected in order to compete with other big branded BB creams. that do get the skin tone right. I wouldn't say my skin is very very fair but neither is it sallow in tone, however, when I apply this product, there is an orange tinge to it which I hate, and part of the reason I hate wearing foundation, is that orangey look that can reside on the skin. Even when I try to apply it very carefully and lightly, most of the time I can see that faint orange tint, particularly around my jaw line and forehead. This for me is the biggest issue with this product.
In terms of its ability to illuminate the skin, this is where I think it is onto a winner. When I apply this to my skin, it instantly makes my face look brighter, and even later in the day, it still looks illuminated and fresh and healthy. I didn't get that with the Garnier BB cream.
In regards to evening the skin, I think it does a fairly good job. I had a touch of acne as a teenager and there are parts of my skin particularly around the lower cheek that still bare the damage from me poking at my spots, before I learnt not to! I do think when I applied this product, it did my skin look smoother and more even and I certainly felt more confident that it hid the blemishes left behind from the acne.
The other claim relates to moisturising the skin and my skin certainly doesn't feel dry after I take this off before I go to bed, in fact, my skin does feel healthy and moisturised. However, it would be interesting to try this out in the middle of the winter when my skin is more likely to suffer from dryness to see if it still offers the same moisturising.
I do find this easy to apply and there is no doubt my skin looks far better with this product than without it, and I would purchase it again if only it would sort out its tone - the light simply is too dark for my skin and anyone with very fair skin would really look bright orange! I will keep using it until the tube runs out simply because of the other factors I like, but I won't purchase it again as I don't want that orange look! Read the complete review |

Nivea Visage Pure & Natural Moisturising Day Cream
by dooberry77
I have this product in my toiletries box but must admit that I haven't used it for a while since finding a different face cream that I really liked. However I have decided to review it as I found it in my box amongst my other lotions and potions over the last couple of days. I also have the pure and natural night cream which I am ... currently using.
The packaging.
The product comes in a small round clear glass jar that is 50ml in size. and has a white plastic screw top lid. On the front of the jar the Nivea Visage brand logo is clearly visible. At the side of that in green and blue lettering it tells you that it is pure and natural moisturising day cream. There is also a small leaf logo with a circle around it which confirms that it is 95% of natural origin. On the back of the jar it gives the jar size (50ml), the shelf life, (12 months) and some contact information for the brand.
The product.
The product itself is a white cream with quite a thick consistency. It smells really nice, fresh and clean. It is easy to apply and absorbs into the skin easily. To apply simply twist the lid to unscrew and remove, use the fingertips to get the desired amount and apply to the face and neck area after thoroughly cleansing the face. I find that I only need to apply a tiny amount because the cream is quite rich applying too much makes my skin look slightly greasy and I always leave it to fully absorb before applying any make up.
The benefits.

- Enriches skin's natural healthy glow

Price and availability.
This product is available from most beauty stores, supermarkets and online and usually retails around £5.39 however Asda currently have it priced at £3 for the 50ml jar.
My verdict.
I like this cream, it leaves my skin feeling fresh and soft but it can feel a bit greasy if too much is applied. For the price it is great value for money and I would recommend it. Read the complete review |
