Nivea Visage Refreshing 2 in 1 Cleanser & Toner
by abbiej1711
I don't have extremely oily skin, however I find that whenever I wash my face with soap and water, the few days following I come out with terrible spots and blemishes! I was told it was because the soap disrupted my oil levels, making my skin dry and causing my face to let out a large number of oil to retain back the oils lost- causing ... larger number of spots and boils. Because of this, I now never use any sort of soap or face wash. This may sound dirty to some people, but I get by through using makeup removers and face wipes, which for years now has proven to be great for me.
It wasn't until a few months ago that I felt I needed something more for my skin, as I used different face wipes going by whatever was on offer, and not all of them left me feeling clean and fresh.
I found when I woke up in the mornings, usually throughout the warmer months, my face felt and looked greasy and I just did not want to apply my makeup to my face which felt so dirty! Because of this, I went on a hunt for some sort of cleanser.
I was very worried about using something new, as in the past I have had bad experiences using cleansers. I was looking for something which wouldn't make my skin feel sore or dry, yet made me feel clean and helped remove dirt and left over make up.
I wanted a cleanser to help cleanse my face, but I understood I also needed a toner to apply afterwards to replace any oil removed through the cleansing, which made the choice twice as hard. I now needed to pick a right cleanser, and a right cleanser and expected to have to go through many different products to find something which would suit me.
On one of our big shopping trips to tesco, I had a quick nip down the beauty isle thinking I may aswell start trial and errors somewhere. I went on price more than anything, expecting to have to go through quite a few. After picking up a few and looking for ages, I came across the Nivea range. Unfortunately, in my local tesco store, they don't put all of the cleansers together, and all of the toners together, they put them in brand order so I had to go through each brand looking for the cleansers!
I came across this bottle of Nivea which said it was a cleanser and toner in 1. This, and the amazing price sold me straight away. I picked up my first bottle for around £1.60 as it was currently on offer.
I went back to tesco the other day and whilst browsing I noticed this product was still at a great price, of only £1.99! So I grabbed another!
This product can also be found in Boots for £3.59, which although is more expensive, I would still pay that price if I had to.
The product.
The liquid isn't too thick, nor too watery. I apply using two cotton pads, applying a generous amount and rubbing it in a circular motion on my skin. The feeling of this cleanser/toner is instantly refreshing, and to my relief it dries quickly and does not leave a sticky or gluey feeling on my skin.
Even after using make up remover and facial wipes, this cleanser/toner still picks up traces of dirty from my skin, and my skin feels much more cleaner and refreshed after use.
The bottle is light blue in colour, and is shaped in a quite thin bottle which makes it very easy to grasp and squeeze out the liquid.
The lid snaps open and shut easily, even with wet or slippery hands and so far I have never had any problems with it leaking, which is great as I am forever throwing it onto my bed.
I personally don't think this product smells too strong, although it has a slight floral perfume fragrance to it which doesn't make my skin sting or itch, but does leave a slight nice smell on my face (according to my partner anyway).
Overall
My partner is quite picky when it comes to creams or what goes on his face, in fact he hates anything fragranced or girly going near his skin! However when it comes to this cleaner/toner, he loves me using this on him! He also has no complaints and loves the way it leaves his skin.
I will certainly continue to use this cleanser/toner, it is a fantastic price and considering I also don't need to buy a toner to apply afterwards, I would consider this a fantastic buy!
I only need to leave my face a matter of minutes before I am able to apply my makeup in the morning, as it sinks into my skin so quick. My skin has never felt dry or itchy after using this product, and it has actually helped decrease the levels of spots I get. I don't suffer from acne or huge levels of spots, however I have seen a difference! After using this product for about 2 months now, I am almost coming to the end of my first bottle. Considering the cost and the length of use, I would say this is great value!
I can not recommend this product enough! Definite 5 out of 5 from me!

Nivea Body Rich Care Body Moisturiser
by jeanclifford
I like to use nice moisturisers and think it's very important to use the right one, especially as the skin ages and becomes more mature. I like Nivea and use a lot of Nivea products and I have done so for years. They sold the Nivea Rich Nourishing Body Moisturiser for only 99p a bottle from the Home Bargains shop a little while back. ... I don't' know if these were old stock or not but the bottles were all very dusty. The bottle I bought was large and had 250ml of thick white moisturiser in. I bought the second bottle the next time I went to that shop as I was very impressed at how well it works, especially considering the price was so low.
This cream, says it gives 24 hour moisture to the body and it's suitable for all skin types. It also has almond oil, which is meant to be good for the skin, and has healing and soothing properties. It says it has Hydra IQ technology, though I am less impressed with this claim as I sometimes think cosmetic manufactures like to use long words to both impress and bamboozle us into thinking we are getting a scientific product that is going to work wonders and quite often it doesn't. I believe in results I can see for myself and not just what I am told.
This has a pleasant smelling fragrance which is quite strong when it's first used from the bottle but it very quickly fades so that no smell is detected at all after about thirty minutes. This was a little disappointing as I like the smell to last. At first it's a strong sort of soapy fresh smell, which reminds me of a lot of Nivea products. It is absorbed quickly into the skin especially on the drier areas of the body ad it's rich and creamy but sinks in fast and leaves no wet tacky areas behind. I don't have to wait about for a long time to get dressed if I have used this lotion. I never use this on my face, only for my body. It doesn't tone or firm the skin and makes no claims to do this, it just adds a lot of much needed moisturiser. I would also imagine that this might act well as an after sun cream because it has quite a cooling feeling on the skin, especially if you keep it in the fridge between uses.
It's a lovely rich moisturiser to use and I have been really pleased with the results because the skin on my abdomen and legs especially looks and feels smoother since I have been using it.
I recommend this Read the complete review |

Nivea Creme General Purpose Cream
by Kirsty_89
DESCRIPTION
I've always loved Nivea Crème. I remember my Nan always having a little pot on her bedside table and I'd always try to make up an excuse to use some. These days I too always have a pot of Nivea to hand and I'll use it for anything from moisturising my face & lips to applying to cuts or sores to help soothe ... them. My Nivea pot is a 200ml example but you can get them in smaller 50ml pots and I've also seen larger pots although I don't know the precise quantity of those. Nivea doesn't make a huge list of claims which I like. It is a cream free from preservatives and suitable for any skin type.
PACKAGING
Nivea crème usually comes within a navy blue coloured plastic tub with "Nivea" printed on the top in white sometimes with the word "crème" underneath and on the bottom there is a sticker with all the relevant details. You can sometimes pick up the smaller 50ml tubs though which have a white coloured plastic bottom. The tubs/pots have a simple screw top lid which can be twisted to reveal the purely white cream.
PRICE
The prices of nivea products greatly vary I find, I picked up my most recent tub (200ml) for just under £3 from Superdrug. I've sometimes purchased a 50ml tub from Wilkinsons for a pound though and I've also found the 200ml tubs on offer in several chemists, it is definitely worth having a search around before purchasing to get the best deal.
PERFORMANCE
I cannot fault this cream from nivea I really can't, it's my favourite moisturiser by far and it's what I use in my nightly routine on a daily basis. The consistency of the cream is quite thick and when first applied to the skin it almost feels as though it won't sink in.
Using the fingertips though to rub in an upwards and outwards motion on the face I find it soaks into the skin easily and immediately gives me a fresh and moisturised feeling. Nivea crème also has a slight smell to it I can't really describe it other than being that sort of "clean" smell. I like this because I don't really enjoy facial moisturisers with strong smells but I appreciate a tiny scent addition.
The cream is not greasy and feels as though it is getting to work straight away. The moisturising feel also lasts a very long time, I will usually sit up in bed watching TV etc for a couple of hours before sleeping after applying the product and my face will still feel very moisturised.
I also find it works very well as a lip moisturiser, I will often apply this as a base before applying lipstick and again it moisturises and soothes the lips making them feel lovely and soft.
OVERALL
Overall this is one of my all time favourite beauty products, it's simple and does exactly what it says it will. It's usually quite cheap to buy if you look in the right places and is also very versatile, I would recommend to everybody! Read the complete review |
