Philosophy Purity One Step Facial Cleanser
by Chippytarka
I have used the product many times over the years, as I love the Philosophy brand overall, whether that would be the fragrance, bodycare or skincare. What I like about this product is its simple and easy to use.Anyone with a busy life kids, work, other commitments would know that if you want to take care of your skin and have nice ... products, sometimes it can take time and many lotions and potions. I do not have the time for that. Anything I use I want to be quick and fast, and this is a good product for that as it is multi purpose, as the title suggests on the packaging, 3 in 1 cleanser for the face. On this picture it does not say 3 in 1 but maybe this is older packaging/formulation shown in the picture above.
The smell of the product is fresh and clean, very unisex as there is not a specific smell, note to make you feel its a woman or a mans product, which is good for the whole family. You simply wash it off with warm water, so I easily do this in the showerIt does not sting the face or dry it out, and the texture is not too thick and does actually go quite along way so you do not need a huge amount.
To be honest, it does not dramatically change my skin, but it makes it feel and look clean without tightening, ready for whatever other product I want to put on.

Philosophy Microdelivery Exfoliating Wash
by katyj10
This is a review of Philosophy Microdelivery Exfoliating Wash, a product which was included in the beauty advent calendar I worked my way through in December. I have seen the Philosophy brand on QVC before and know it is very highly regarded brand so was looking forward to trying it.
Packaging
The Philosophy branding is ... very distinctive with black lettering over a white background and generally, some sort of quote or dictionary definition on the front of the product. This one says "... these micro moments make a lasting difference to our well-being. Micro efforts can smooth the bumpy road of time..." well that's one way of looking at our skin!!
In use
I use this in the shower 2-3 times per week and have found it to be quite nice and gentle on the skin without feeling like I am removing a layer of skin each time! It has a clean soapy smell to it, quite strong and is easy to rinse off the skin (I hate it when you can still feel grains on your skin after exfoliating).
My thoughts
I quite liked using this product, it felt nice on my skin and I definitely noticed a brighter and clearer skin with no problem break outs or anything bad. Whilst I was pleased to get the chance to try it, I am conscious that this exfoliating wash is really expensive so that puts me off a bit as I feel there are other cheaper products out there that work just as well for me.
Price
The cheapest price I have found online is at John Lewis who charge £19.80 for 240ml.
Final word
I am glad that I got the chance to try the Philosophy brand but to be honest, I wasn't really blown away by it. I thought it was OK but it didn't work any better than an ordinary exfoliator product I could buy for under a fiver. For me it is not a repurchase but not because it was rubbish, mainly because I think it is far too expensive for what it is. Read the complete review |

Philosophy Purity Made Simple
by stickyangel
This is a product I've heard so much about and really wanted to try, it was only the hefty pricetag that was stopping me, so I was thrilled to receive a 30ml bottle in my beauty advent calendar before Christmas. The usual price for this product is £8 for 90ml, £17.50 for 236ml or £28.50 for 471ml.
It comes in a clear plastic ... bottle so you can always easily see when it's running out, and it has a flip top lid that makes it really easy and convenient to use even in the shower with wet hands. I do like the design of the bottle, it's clean and simple but it still manages to look high quality without being fancy.
The cleanser is like a mid-consistency lotion with a creamy colour and an unusual herbal type scent. It can be applied to damp or dry skin and should be massaged in for 60 seconds before rinsing. I always use it on damp skin as I just feel with all cleansers that they give a better clean when used with water than using them dry. I find it is easy to massage into my skin and I don't need to use much, even though they suggest using 'a generous amount', I think they just say that to make you use more and therefore spend more money with them.
I do find it cleans my skin well and it feels refreshed after using it. My skin also feels smooth and quite soft, but I don't find I get any particularly special results from this, and I don't find it keeps my skin as clear as some other cleansers. However, it doesn't dry my skin out, even in this horrible wintery weather we're having at the moment, which is a major plus.
All in all, although I do like this cleanser I don't think I'll be buying it because I just don't think it's special enough to justify the price, so I'll just stick to cheaper options that are just as good or even better. Read the complete review |
