Sanctuary Creme Souffle
by walsha11
I was given this as part of a Sanctuary set for Christmas and was immediately keen to use it as I know their products are meant to be of a high standard.
This souffle moisturiser comes in a huge tub which is made from a frosted clear plastic and has a frosted orange plastic lid. The orange colour is synonymous with the ... sanctuary brand so though ordinarily might put me off it just fits well with the overall look. On top and around the circular edge of the tub there are stickers which tell you a little bit more about this product, what is in it and what it claims to do.
As soon as you open the tub there is an instantly a heavily perfumed scent that comes from the tub. In the information provided it simply says softening oils and mango are used in this which put me off a little because it smells so strongly of anything but these things. Having had a look at the ingredients it does have jojoba in it and also parfum so this does go some way to explaining the strong smell but I still find it a little odd. underneath the strong perfumey smell there is a light creamy scent which gives you a hint of what the cream is like.
To look at when you first open it the cream appears to be quite smooth but when you dig your hand in there is a little surprise. Just like a real souffle this cream is aerated so that it has bubbles of air in it - as if it has actually been whipped. The sensation then when you reach in to take some out is as if you are reaching into a decadent chocolate mousse which certainly gives the sense of a luxury product.
So then my main issue really lies with the cream itself. Due to the thick bouncy nature of it when you remove it from the pot, probably in part because of the pockets or air, I expected this be a thick and decadent cream. Instead almost immediately as you apply it to your skin the bubbles disappear and the cream becomes very thin, light and frankly not very luxurious at all.
I have read other reviews of this product on here and pretty much all of them are positive apart from one express review. I think this is probably down to personal preference for cream consistency as I much prefer a very thick and almost sticky cream whereas this is extremely light and thin. It would make it a nice cream for summer I suppose but when I moisturise I really like to feel as though I have fully hydrated and moisturised my skin. I quite like the feeling of sitting in thick cream so when this sinks in immediately that bothers me slightly and doesn't feel like I'm getting a luxurious moisturising.
Once the cream has soaked in there is a slight oiliness to the skin which isn't particularly nice feelings and the heavy perfumed smells lingers instead of the creamy smell so you are left feeling like a walking incense stick. My skin doesn't immediately feel moisturised with this cream either, I would say initially it actually feels more dried out than before but after a couple of hours it begins to work and my skin feels soft. This is a weird sensation and I have to say I'd rather it just worked straight away.
This cram costs £10.50 for 475ml. Now that price is huge but admittedly you do get a lot of cream (and air) for your money. I have to say I wouldn't personally be paying that because I don't like this product all that much, but as it was free I'll continue using my current pot until it is finished.
Overall, this might be a nice cream for some but it is too thin and heavily perfumed for me. Read the complete review |

Sanctuary Radiance Exfoliator
by Mayfair1985
As previously mentioned, I have very dry skin. I exfoliate 2-3 times a week, sometimes more. I have been an avid user of this exfoliator for a few years now. I've tried and tested many, and will always try something new, but I just keep coming back to this one.
I always get mine from boots, and only ever when there is a 3 for ... 2 on Sanctuary product on, as at around about £10.00 for 100ml, it's not cheap. One tube does usually last me about 3 months though, so it is quite economical.
Okay, so it's not pretty. It's a bit reminiscent of muddy, wet, sand. And what's with the minty green lid? Bit clinical isn't it?
The claims:
''Ultra-fine apricot granules and grape seed exfoliate and refine, while a trio of pumpkin, pineapple and papaya extracts work naturally to help increase cell renewal. Skin is left feeling smooth and glowing with radiance.''
What it does
It smells a bit sour. It looks a bit rubbish. But by god does it work. I use a pea sized blob on my finger, and scrub away. The actual beads are quite large so go easy. If you're too enthusiastic with your scrubbing then it's likely to have a cheese grater effect. I think you're only mean to use it once a week but I use it more. After, my skin is dry patch free, smooth and silky. I'm not sure if it's meant to but also, my pores are most definitely smaller immediately after using this.
I really can't recommend this product enough. Having been completely around the block with exfoliators, if you need something for very dry skin this is your one. I'll continue to try new ones, but I think I may always come back to this. 10/10. Read the complete review |

MY EXPERIENCE
_____________
It comes in a nice pale blue tube with a white cap, it stands upside down and has black writing on it. The wash itself is a pearly white colour which is thick in consisteny and is naturally fragranced with plant extracts and essential oils. To me the smell is hard to pinpoint wht is in it, but it is a pleasent smell. Although it does smell quite strong when you are wearing it. when using the wash it lathers up nicley to a smooth bubbly white wash, after washing it off, which is easy enough it makes my skin tingle, and my skin feels really fresh and clean.
Directions of use-
1- wet face with warm water
2- work the wash over the face in upwards circular motions using your fingertips.
3- rinse thoroughly with warm water.
*do not get in eyes*
MY OPINION
___________
I find this wash works very well for me. The day after Iv used it I notice my skin to be brighter and clearer. It has a really nice consistency to it and its actually easy to wash off without leaving any of it behind. The smell is pleasent but can be strong. I also love the tinglely clean feeling I get aftewards and the matte appearence it gives my skin. I have problematic skin and using some products really flares it up, but this one doesnt. i would say it actually calmes it. The price is a bit steep Ithink however a little goes a long way and after 6 months of every other day use, Iv still got a third of the tube left.
Well worth the money and i would recommend you to try.
Thanks for reading and rating.
Also on ciao under the same username.
