Thalgo Melt Away Mask
by MEL0611
Since hitting the age of 30 I have taken much better care of my skin. I have a really good cleansing and toning and routine but I have also learned that I need to buy products that are suited to my skin as opposed to ones that are cheap on offer! I also now have a night per week where I treat my skin to a face mask. The face mask that I ... am going to be reviewing today is my Thalgo Melt Away Mask. I was first introduced to the Thalgo brand when I was at a Spa day, they had a large range of the products on offer and they were also really good quality as it was their products that were used when I was having a facial so I took advantage of the reduced price and here are my thoughts.
The Thalgo product will cost you around the £25.00 mark which I can appreciate is quite a high price tag for a face mask. The Thalgo brand is one of high quality though and this is reflected in their prices. The Thalgo brand is also one that is not readily available so there are a certain number of place that you can purchase it from. I find that the internet is often the best place to purchase the face mask from, that or if you are at a Salon and there is an offer on. The Thalgo brand can be found in some larger department stores but they are also likely to be a higher price tag.
The face mask arrives and it is in a white cardboard box with blue writing on it. There is all you need to know on the product on the packaging, there is the Thalgo logo and the name of the mask as well as the size of the bottle,. We are told by the brand that ' as soon as the mask is applied, the fresh mask will melt into your skin to offer it a nourishing bath, your skin will then be perfectly nourished to recover suppleness and softness'. we are recommended to use the mask once to twice a week but my personal preference is to use it just the once, it feels more of a treat then to me.
The face mask is in a white plastic tube with a blue base, this has a flip lid and a small opening on it which is where you dispense the mask from by squeezing the bottle. There is an amazing scent that comes with the face mask, it is a mixture of mango butter, rose oil and Borage oil amongst other things, light and refreshing but so soothing and light, its just a stunning smell. You need to apply a layer of the mask to cleansed skin, I usually put it on when I am sat in the bath, you just need to lie down then and let the mask do its work! You are recommended to leave it on 10- 15 minutes and then rinse it off, off apply a slightly thinner layer and remove after 15- 20 minutes, its just down to personal preference. The mask goes on really evenly and it isn't messy or sticky to touch.
I don't notice that the mask is on, my skin doesn't itch or feel really tight like other masks do. My skin just feels refreshed, even with the mask on. After removing the mask, my skin just felt really soft and revived. The main thing that the mask does is give your skin the boost, without being to harsh as it is designed for weekly use. My skin had a smoothness about it and it was left with a lovely glow to it as well.
Whilst this is an expensive product, I am more than happy to recommend it. The face mask will last a good amount of time, especially if you are apply a thin layer each time. It has amazing qualities, even with my cleanse and tone routine, I think my skin is given that bit extra by using this.
4 out of 5 from me on this one

Thalgo Aroma-Detox Essential Oil
by MEL0611
I am used to walking, in fact I quite like it and I am often known to be striding to and from work as well as walking into town, however, every now and then I do find that the muscles in the back of my legs will ache and that I feel a little tired from it. I always try and have a soak in the bath as well as resting if I have slightly ... over done it with the walking but when I was lucky enough to be treated to a body massage at a spa I found that the essential oil that they used was really good and so I was keen to purchase some and use it at home. I appreciated that I am not a trained in massage but anything that made my legs feel a bit better after a long walk would be a great help so here are my thoughts on the Thalgo Aroma Detox Essential oil.
The essential oil is by the Thalgo brand and it is one that I am not that familiar with. I have used some Thalgo products before but I have never used the essential oil. The bottle that I have is the 150ml in size and even though this sounds small, it will certainly last a long time and a little will go a long way. The Thalgo oil that I have will cost you around the £37.00 mark but I was able to take advantage of the spa discount price and paid about £25.00 for mine. I can see why you may look at it and think that it is pricey but I have seen the benefit from it and it is worth every penny for me but I will explain why now!
The essential oil is described by Thalgo as an oil that will 'Relieve and relax tired and heavy legs and encourage detoxification, it will also help to relieve water retention which I think is sometimes the issue with the pain in the back of my legs. The bottle is actually not that special to look at. It narrows towards the top and has a white lid that needs to be removed. The bottle is see through so you can see the oil quite through it. There is the name of the product on the bottle in white writing as well as the Thalgo logo. On the reverse of the bottle is the ingredients that have been used as well as directions for use.
The oil is made up from a number of different scents. This one is a mixture of Basil, Carrot and Wintergreen as well as a couple of names that I can't pronounce! The scent really does hit you and what I do is add a couple of drops to my bath water and take myself for a relaxing bath. I find that this is a lovely way to relax and the oil really does help getting rid of the aches and pains.
The oil may sound expensive when you read the start of this review but it is something that is really good for relaxing my legs and for the small amount that you need each time, it really will go and last for a long time. The smell is not to over powering but it is certainly quite strong and I like the fragrance but it is worth testing other as it is a personal choice. The oil certainly is different to the bubble baths; it is good on your skin and leaves it so soft and subtle. On the odd occasion I have rubbed it onto my skin but prefer it in the bath water.
In summary, I am happy to recommend this product and it certainly works wonders for me

Thalgo Moisturising Eye Care
by MEL0611
I am sure for those of you that have read my last few reviews will know that I have been lucky enough to go to a couple of day spas. At these places there are usually a number of different products for you to try, products that are not always available on the high street. Whilst I love having a go with them all, when I have had facials, ... you get a prescription of the products that are best suited to you; one of these was the Thalgo Moisturising Eye care creams. The therapist will only advise you on what your needs are and there has never been any pressure to buy the product. With a reduction on the price available I made a purchase of this Thalgo product and as I take very little care of the skin around my eye it was about time I paid a little bit more attention and so I went away pleased with my product and eager to give it ago.
At full price the eye cream will cost you around the £20.00 mark. I actually don't think that this is too high a price to have to pay. That is the price that I would expect to pay for some high street brands such as Clarins or Estee Lauder. The Thalgo brand is not one that you can just pick up on the high street though, I know John Lewis and House of Fraser stock the product and that you can also buy the eye cream direct from the Thalgo website or from places like Amazon and Cheap Smells.
The eye cream comes in a white plastic tube with the Thalgo logo on the top. There is also the name of the product on the front of the tube. On the reverse is information on the eye cream as well as an ingredient listing and directions for use. This may look a small tube and there is nothing that fancy about the packaging to be honest but it is one of those products that will last a long time and a little will go a long way. You really do need the smallest of amounts.
The Thalgo eye cream is designed to 'remove wrinkles' as it contains anti-ageing ingredients, it is also designed to tighten the skin around the eye area. We are told that this needs to be used morning and night but I tend to use it just on the evening, it is the only time I seem to remember to apply it but it can be used as a base to make up and applied of the morning as Thalgo suggest.
To apply is very easy, you just need to squeeze the tube and the gel will appear. The first thing that I noticed was the refreshing marine scent; it is not too heavy and really quite pleasant. The gel is really easy to apply; I put a little onto my finger and then put it on the eye area. It had a very smooth consistency and it wasn't as thick as I thought it would be, it wasn't runny but it was easy to move around my skin.
The gel certainly tightens the skin. I did a review on my Estee Lauder eye cream the other day and it was fair to say that it wasn't that impressive as there was no sign if any results but my skin did feel better for using this eye cream. I liked that a small amount was required and it suited my skin really well.
Even though I don't know the Thalgo brand that well, it has certainly impressed me, I would be tempted to look at the other products that they offer!
A 5 out of 5 from me
