Since my last product from Alpha H Triple Action Cleanser, I am now onto Alpha H's Micro Cleanse.
Micro Cleanse is effectively an exfoliater but with a difference. This product comes with 12% Glycolic Acid, which is in a category called Hydroxy Acids (AHA). Glycolic Acid naturally occurs in sugar cane, other AHA can occur from fruits and dairy products. Glycolic Acid is a well known ingredient to help with skin dryness, acne, ageing as well as other skin complaints. As Glycolic Acid is so small it is able to penetrate deeper into the skins pores for a more dramatic result. Usual products like exfoliators just scratch the surface of the skin and remove dead skin cells where as Glycolic Acid targets problems deeper in your skin while lifting out impurities.
Glycolic Acid is widely used for skin problems such as, acne, brown spots, uneven skin tone, ageing, facial circulation and small scar reduction caused by acne.
Micro Cleanse is brilliant for removing dead skin cells with its small micro beads and botanical ingredients. Micro Cleanse works to smooth brighten and restore your skin, overtime the product will improve your skins appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, whilst minimising open pores. With cucumber extract this also helps with keeping moisture locked in your skin, whilst soothing, tightening, and softening with anti-inflammatory properties, which is also good for skin redness. Micro Cleanse is also known to radiate skins health and vitality.
Please note it is advised if you have extremely sensitive skin to do a patch test first as it is manly due to the small size of Glycolic Acid, which can penetrate deeper and irritate delicate skins.
I received 50ml of Micro Cleanse in my Clear Skin Kit but if you want to purchase it as an individual it costs £22.00 for 100ml from hqhair.com.
Micro Cleanse is recommended for skins which are normal, dry, oily, acne, blemished and combination skin.
This product comes in the same packaging of Triple Action Cleanser and the rest of the Alpha H range. It comes in a bland white and black white tube with a flip top lid, which it stands on. Micro Cleanse is white in colour and so are the beads. The product is creamy, yet feels light at the same time. The beads are small so it is easy to see this being a deep down cleaning product that will lift impurities out of your pores. It smells a lot like cucumber and almost a minty smell, it smells refreshing and light.
Apply Micro Cleanse two to three times a week or even weekly. Squeeze a small amount into the palm of your hand and apply a little water or make sure your skin is damp. Rubbing both hands together you can feel there are lots of micro beads, which feel quite hard. Normally my skin is all over the place but generally it is a problem skin, with a tendency to become very sensitive at times. I have to say at first I was worried about using this product on my face due to 12% Glycolic Acid and the small beads, I was worried with sensitivity, which may flare my skin up a little. Gently rubbing it into my face in circular movements avoiding my eye contour area it doesn't feel like any other exfoliator I have used in the past, for a start I can feel all beads that don't dissolve when in contact with skin or water, it does feel rough when rubbed onto my cheeks but this is due to the shear amount of micro beads, I just make sure I rub more gentle on this area. Even though the product feels rough I would not call it a harsh product.
Micro Cleanse is white when rubbed into the skin it goes transparent and you can smell how refreshing and minty it is, brings a lovely deep down clean feel to mind and body.
Unlike exfoliators with bigger beads it is hard to get them into all folds of the skins pores and remove dead skin cells efficiently; this is not a problem with Micro Cleanse and its micro beads. They get into all parts easy and very effectively lifting out dirt and grime.
When I have finished rubbing it into my skin, because of the Glycolic Acid I like to leave the product on for one minute to let Glycolic Acid work deeper down into my skin, this is when I can feel Glycolic Acid working, my skins feels tingly but not in a bad way. Rinsing off is easy, personally I use a sponge but you can use water. After rinsing the product away there is no residue left on, including micro beads that I sometimes find with other products and the tingling subsides.
Afterwards skin looks very smooth, clean and bright. The back of the tube states stop using if you experience any stinging, itching or burning. You will experience a tingling sensation but this is completely normal with Glycolic Acid products and this subsides very quickly, also with my sensitive skin afterwards my skin looks a little red on my cheeks, forehead, nose and chin. Again this subsides after five minutes or so it is because of the product working deeper down than other products and not just scratching the surface.
After month of using Micro Cleanse I have got used to how the product works, I am very happy with it. My skin has never become dry; my oily skin is reduced even though my skin still feels always hydrated, and smooth. Open pores around my nose have reduced in size; blackheads are reduced on my nose and chin and my skin looks a lot brighter. Its an amazing product.
Even though the product is working for me I am still experiencing spots (not acne spots) but this is due to my underlying congestion that has to come to the surface first.
Alpha H don't just do products for acne skin, they address problems such as ageing, pigmentation as well as other skin needs.
Even though in the kit I had 50ml of product it is lasting longer than a month and the tube lasts 24 months so it is great value for money, this is a product I will be re-purchasing.
