Alpha H is an Australian brand that I had never heard of before until watching QVCUK one day, while watching QVC there was a woman on there called Michelle Doherty, she said when she was a teenager into her early 20's she suffered server acne and couldn't see away out until one of her friends gave her some samples from Alpha H to try. Within a month she could see a way out of her problem skin. Michelle was so impressed with the brand as well as her brand new skin she bought Alpha H and moved to Australia to continue to make the brand what it is today with herself and Dean as Directors.
Through my teenage years I was lucky enough to have okay skin, my early 20's was the same although I got the odd spot. My skin is generally blemish/spot prone that only formed underneath the skin with blackheads, since the birth of my daughter in 2008 my skin has gradually got worse. I remember watching QVCUK and hearing Michelle's story and how Alpha H changed her life, although the products sounded wonderful they are also expensive so I just watched and didn't purchase anything.
Since then I am suffering with more blackheads, more spots and acne like spots, which I am not used to getting with scars. My skin has become very sensitive and generally all over the place. Because of my skin getting worse and not really used to it I bought more face masks, cleansers, moisturisers, spot gels and creams with the hope something would suit my skin and help me. Unfortunately for me these products didn't work and make my skin worse, more congested, oilier and larger pores.
Even though I knew Alpha H products are expensive I thought if Michelle had brilliants results with the products maybe the price is worth it, especially if I am going to get lovely, glowing, spot free skin.
I went onto Alpha H's website alpha-h.com as well as QVCUK.com to see what products we're available to me and the problems I was experiencing. All reviews on QVCUK are raving about Alpha H and how brilliant it made their skin; I was beginning to be more sold by the minute. To my surprise on Alpha H's site you can contact a fully trained beauty therapist in Alpha H products; you can either email her or fill in a Client Consultation Card, which in turn you fill in your problems with your skin, your lifestyle and what you want to achieve at the end of the treatments. I received a reply the day after telling me with the information I had given she recommended to me a kit called Clear Skin Kit. The kit from Alpha H will set you back $89.95, £59.51 for five products; I found it cheaper at salonskincare.co.uk for £37.95 a lovely £21.56 saving.
Although I received a five piece kit all containing 50ml of product, I am going to review the products one at a time so it makes it easier.
The beauty therapist said the products will last a month and I will see a difference in my skin within this time or after depending on my skin and how congested it is.
First off is the Triple Action Cleanser, which contains bacteria fighting Triclosan, which helps the spread of bacteria and infection of acne and problem skin, whilst breaking down the repetitive cycle of acne. This cleanser is not like the other cleaners I have used in the past, this is an none foaming cleanser and it took a while to get used to using. It helps with unclogging pores, removes all traces of makeup and eye makeup, while balances the pH of your skin while addressing surface bacteria and breakouts. Triple Action Cleaner is recommended for skins which are normal, oily, acne, blemished and combination skin.
Upon flipping the bland white and black white tube with a flip top lid I was surprised to see the cleanser was clear in colour, I was expecting a little colour so this was a nice surprise there is hardly any smell either, which I wasn't expecting. It is almost a gel like texture but a little more watery.
To apply this cleanser squeeze a small amount into the palm of your hand and apply a little water or make sure your skin is damp. Rubbing both hands together the cleanser feels very light and you're left wondering if it will actually do anything. On the back of the tube it states to stop using this product if you experience adverse reactions like stinging, itching or burning. Because of this statement and my ever so sensitive skin I was a little worried about using it. Thankfully when applying it to my face it feels very gentle, light and refreshing yet you need such a small amount. As it is none foaming your left thinking if it is doing anything, however when I take my muslin cloth afterwards and wipe it away you will be surprised at how much makeup has left your face. I found it was good with eye makeup but it didn't remove all my mascara, but more importantly there was no stinging, itching or burning anywhere on my face. After washing it away my face felt tingly like it was working deep down.
Afterwards my face was left looking clean and fresh. I also felt like I had really cleaned my face. I have found for me it is best to double cleanse especially when wearing makeup, I cleanse my face with a regular cleanser and then I use Triple Action Cleanser, as I know my makeup has all ready been removed so this can get into my pores deeper and quicker without no tightness that you can find happening my skin is also left feeling very soft. In the morning I just use this.
With time Triple Action Cleanser can help with hormonal spots as it treats breakouts from the base of the spot and not the top as well as killing bacteria. I have still been getting hormonal spots but I am happy to say they quickly clear away.
After a week or so of using this product and applying my mineral foundation afterwards I could see an absolute difference, my skin looked very bright and healthy. This is something I have never achieved before.
After nearly a month of using this cleanser I have got used to how it works and I find it fantastic.
I did go back to the Alpha H website and contact the beauty therapist I originally asked as I am still experiencing spots underneath the skin but thankfully no acne spots. The response I got was, if you have underlying congestion that has to come to the surface first to clear then I will continue to experience spots as a result. Acne/breakout skin doesn't form overnight and may take weeks to months to clear but continuing with Alpha H will see your results grow.
Normally I would say, yeah right she's saying that to get me to stay with the range but personally I really do believe her. My skin is so much brighter, softer, and cleaner and I believe I have much smaller pores than before I am also finding my skin is less oily than before and is a product I will continue to use and the best thing is Alpha H don't just do products for acne skin, they address problems such as ageing, pigmentation as well as other products.
Even though in the kit I had 50ml of product it is lasting longer than a month.
For a 200ml tube from qvcuk.com it will cost £18.75 and £3.45 postage and packaging, yes it is expensive but I believe this cleanser is worth it and something I will be keeping.
