      Very pleased with this product.

I had run out of my usual Clean & Clear Exfoliating Daily Wash by Johnsons. I was in Asda looking at the many, very pricey facial washes there were. Some were four pounds and above for the brand name products and they were only 150 ml. I spotted the Asda brand products which were two for three pounds. They were also 150ml; it was cheaper buying two of the Asda brand products than an expensive one. It was a very good price, but were the products any good? I purchased this product along with another that was the same only it was for deep cleansing not not exfoliating.

The product looks like most of the other facial wash tubes, very professional and looks like a brand name apart from the small 'Asda Essential Care' in the top left hand corner. The product is suitable for all skin types, mine being sensitive. The product claims to help prevent spots and leave skin feeling toned. The product is supposed to unclog pores, remove dead skin cells, dirt and oil.

It also contains anti-bacterial ingredients to penetrate into the skin. Tea tree and witch hazel are included in this product. These 'ingredients' are usually used in most brand name products. But does it do all these things?

The cream itself is pure white and comes out of the tube easily and cleanly. You squeeze it into the palm of your hand with a bit of warm water and work it into a lather, make sure none of if falls into the sink! Massage it over your face (and neck if you wish). You then just massage it over your face (and neck) and rinse thoroughly. Instead of rubbing you face in a towel just pat it. You should feel a tingling sensation in your skin.

My skin is softer and I am almost certain after using this product my spots are less red and visible. This is a great facial wash, half the price of some of the other expensive products out there. I will be buying this again instead of my previous one. At the end of this review I can honestly say that this Asda's product lives up to its claims AND it was a bargain. Thanks Asda, buying this product was a pleasant surprise!

      Great!

I was in need of some face wash and decided to have a look in Asda as I was doing my weekly food shop from there at the time anyway. I did already have face wash at home but it was the exfoliating type, and I don't think that using something as harsh everyday is good for the skin on my face.

I was looking for something simple, just a normal daily facial wash. Whilst I am careful with my skin, I do not have a very strict regime when it comes facial care, and I do not have the kind of money it takes to buy some of the higher end products that cost a small fortune.

Whilst browsing the shelves of the 'health and beauty' aisle in Asda (I think that's what the aisle was called), I came across the facial wash made by Asda, called 'Clear Skin Daily'. For 150 ml of this product, it was £1.83. This was actually a 'roll-back' price and I could see that it usually cost over £2.00.

I had a look at some other similar products and found them to be quite pricey in comparison to the Asda Daily wash. For example, some of the branded facial washes cost over £4.00 for the same volume of product. As I had never tried the Asda Daily wash before, and because it was priced very reasonably, I decided to try it out. If I liked it, I'd save myself a lot of money in the future.

So, on to product performance...the facial wash comes in a semi-transparent tube, and sits upside down on its head, as shown by the picture displayed on the top of this page. I quite like the fact that you can see exactly how much is left in the tube, and the fact that it sits on its head is great because it means you don't have to squeeze quite so hard when you only have a little left, as gravity does the hard work for you!

The product smells nice. It contains tea-tree, which means it has that crisp, clean smell to it. In addition because of the tea-tree it makes your skin tingle slightly after use. I like this sensation as it contributes to the overall 'clean' feel.

After use, I find that my skin does feel nice and soft. I do not have sensitive skin, but if I were to wash my face with normal bath soap for example, it does feel very tight afterwards, and needs to be moisturised quickly. With the Asda Daily wash, I find that there is not that feeling of immediate tightness in my skin, although after maybe 10 minutes without any moisturiser, I do feel like I need to put something on my face to moisturise it as it does feel a little tight.

All in all, I would say that cost-wise, this is a great buy. It is around £3.00 cheaper than some branded washes, and therefore can save anyone a decent amount of money in the long-term. Those with more sensitive skin than me however might find that it is not quite for them.
