“ Brand: Asda / Type: Cleansing Wipes / Suitable for: Face / Skin type: for dry skin and for all types / What it does: Cleanses / Product line: Asda Skin System „
When it comes to skin care, as a customer you're always directed towards the more expensive products as you're made to think that you're buying the best quality. I always used to buy Johnson's or Garnier face wipes to remove my make up at night, and when I started university and started paying digs I couldn't afford to splash out on those kind of brands anymore. I was in Asda one day pining over the big brands and came across asda's own brand 'skin system' face wipes.
For £1 you get 25 wipes and often there are promotions on in Asda so that you can get 5 for £3. The packaging is very basic although doesn't look cheap or nasty, which is what directed me to the product in the first place (I'm a bit of a magpie when it comes to products) it's got a 'sciencey' look about it which suggests to the customer that thought has gone in to designing and manufacturing the product (or am I looking into things too much?)
Now, the wipes themselves feel like they're very good quality and would definitely like Garnier a run for their money. They feel soft and gentle yet sturdy enough to get off waterproof mascara, and I was impressed that even after a good night out I was able to get a full face of make up off with just one wipe without the cloth distorting or my fingers poking through the material. Due to the quality of the packaging the wipes don't dry out either which is a plus, I had a pack in my bag for weeks and I was pleasantly surprised that they were still useable!
As far as I'm aware, you can buy different wipes for different skin types and I'm particularly drawn to the wipes for dry skin and wipes for sensitive skin. You can choose whether they're scented or not, but I've found that the wipes that I've tried smell really nice and don't smell cheap at all, in fact quite the opposite. They smell quite expensive! They're incredibly quick and easy to use and I've used them every night as part of my facial routine and found that they fit in quite nicely.
I would definitely recommend these wipes as they're affordable and incredibly good quality. I feel that they definitely rival the wipes of top scale marketers and I'll definitely be trying out more from the skinsystem range so look out for the reviews!
I have been using this brand for their Eye Make Up remover wipes for a good while now as I find them to be alright and the pruce was always good. However the price seemed to have rocketed over the last few months and the Eye Wipes have went up gradually and now cost an extra 60p for the same size pack, but that's for another review.
I spotted these as they were near to where the Eye Wipes were and when I got these around a month ago they were on a special offer price of £1. Not sure what the right price for these are as the Rollback price stood out but that was a good price I though.
The benefits of these which provide 4 in 1 cleansing and the 4 things these do are Tone, Cleanse, Remove Make Up and Moisturise so all the things you would want to do to your face with a quick wipe. I know that Wipes do work out more expensive than a bottle and some Cotton Wool, but I just find it so much easier to give a quick sweep and there is no excuse for me not to do it.
The pack looks like the picture on here. Just open up the sealed bit in the middle, pull a wipe out and then reseal. Although I do find that the wipes do dry out a little bit they are still Moist enough and still do the job. There is a slight light scent from these but it is just a touch of a Creamy kind of scent. These are for Sensitive skin afterall.
The Wipes were quite thin but they were a bit thicker than I was expecting. They are slightly textured and soft enough to have a good wipe with these. After use my face felt soft enough and all over my face felt cleansed so I feel that they done a good job.
I will buy these wipes again. They don't look fancy but they do the job and the price is good.
I have always been a firm believer that you don't need to spend a fortune on facial wipes to get a reasonable quality product therefore I have tried most supermarket brands out there and ASDA's are by far my favourite. They claim to provide your skin with 4 benefits. These are toning, moisturising, removing make-up and cleansing your skin. In my experience they are a reasonable toner, they remove even waterproof make-up with minimal effort and they left my skin feeling soft after using them, unlike many other facial wipes I've tried, which have left my skin feeling dry and irritated. I also felt they cleansed my skin reasonably well. The wipes are also nice and thick for a low cost brand which means if you've taken your mascara off, it doesn't smudge all over your face from the wipe when you use the other side of the wipe on the rest of your face.
The facial wipes are only £1 a pack which for 33 wipes is a fantastic price you just can't beat. I have sensitive skin and was not disappointed with these wipes as they don't contain any product that could irritate your skin such as alcohol or a perfume to provide them with a fragrance. I had no experience of irritation, stinging or redness whilst using them. They can also be used if you're not wearing make-up to give your skin a bit of a lift if it's feeling tired and heavy.
Overall, I think these wipes are a great make-up remover and leave your skin feeling soft and nourished and are also an excellent price for what they are, but if you have a full skin regime that includes toning and cleansing with other products, I would continue to do so, as the cleansing and toning provided with these wipes is unlikely to match your current regimes results.
These are Asda branded face wipes and therefore they are only available in Asda. There are 33 wipes in the packet and the pack states that it is a bigger pack so I would imagine there are more wipes in here than there were previously. They cost just £1 and are sometimes on offer for 4 packs for £3 which are well worth a buy!
The wipes are 4 in 1. They cleanse, tone and moisturise as well as moving make up. They contain no soap, colour, fragrance or alcohol so they are perfect for sensitive skin.
I always use the wipes to freshen up my face or to remove make up. In the morning when my skin is feeling a bit tired the wipes really help to freshen me up and make my skin feel much more awake before putting on my make up. They are brilliant for removing make up, just a simple wipe helps to get it all off including waterproof mascara which sometimes proves tricky to remove.
I have very sensitive skin and these have proven to be perfectly compatible with my skin. Since using these I have noticed my skin is soft and smooth and I have been getting less spots and less blemishes and I love the softness of my skin after using these.
Here are the ingredients - Aqua, Cetearyl Isononanoate, Ceteareth-20, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glycerin, Glyceryl Stearate, Polysorbate 20, Glycereth-8 Shea Butter Esters, Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil, Maris Aqua, Tocopheryl Acetate, PEG-35 Castor Oil, Panthenol, Ceteareth-12, Chlorphenesin, Disodium EDTA, Sodium Citrate, Citric Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, 2-Bromo-2-Nitropropane-1
Asda do not test on animals and these wipes are manufactured in the UK.
At £1 for 33 wipes they are definitely worth a try. I dont think these would be as beneficial as a complete skincare regime however for anyone who is either in a rush or is a little bit lazy like I am it is a brilliant alternative. They remove make up easily and look after my skin and ensure I go to bed with a cleansed, make up free face!
I don't have anything bad to say about these facewipes at all. They are by far the best ones I've tried, and certainly the cheapest.
I basically use facewipes to remove my makeup (foundation, powder, blusher - and eye makeup too if I'm not wearing much) before washing my face as I find otherwise traces of makeup are left after washing with a cleanser. My skin is fairly sensitive and I've never had any reactions or irritations with these Asda wipes. They are alcohol free, which is something I find important as wipes containing alcohol tend to dry out my skin. The texture of the wipes is also nice, soft and not scratchy (which I find some wipes to be) - and they also feel moister than some brands.
The packaging is pretty standard for facewipes - a package with a peel-back opening which you can stick down again after opening so that the wipes don't dry up. Although I've found sometimes this 'unsticks' itself, this has never caused the wipes to dry out - or at least not so as I've noticed. Usually it takes me at least 6 weeks to get through a whole pack, and they have always stayed moist until the very last wipe.
On my last purchase, these cost £1 a packet, which contains 25 wipes [updated 6/4/13 - packaging has changed but it appears to be the same product, although number of wipes has gone down from the original 30 per packet]. Sometimes when I'm not wearing tons of makeup I tear a wipe in half (a cash-saving tip for which I must credit the moneysavingexpert.com forum!) and this works fine. If I'm wearing a lot of eye makeup, I go over my eyes with one of these wipes after taking of my foundation, but prefer to use a separate eye makeup remover to make sure all my mascara is off properly. If you're of the one-stop-shop cleansing school that may be annoying for you but for me it's not a problem as I don't often wear that much eye makeup.
So - gentle, effective, practical, cheaper and better than 'name' brands I've tried, and easy to get hold of in Asda supermarkets. They are hands-down the winning facewipe for me!
Thanks for reading!
Whilst shopping in Asda I came across their own brand Sensitive Face Wipes. The wipes are said to give your skin 4 benefits from one product, cleansing your skin, toning, moisturising, aswell as removing make-up. Being a bloke I very rarely find the need to remove make-up, but at only £1 a pack I decided they were worth buying, as the other 3 benefits offered value enough. The pack states that it contains 33 wipes and there were some kind of value offer on the packaging, I think they have increased the pack size recently. For only a pound i thought they were worth buying, and I added them to my shopping trolley awaiting their use at a later date.
When I tried the facial wipes out I found them of an adequate size to cover my hand, so I had an effective hold of the wipe as I were cleansing my face with the wipes. As these are the sensitive wipes, they are ideal for my skin type, as I am quite sensitive when it comes to soap products. As they also contain no soap, alcohol, fragrance or colour they are also perfect for me, as soap always makes me sneeze!
You can use the wipes like I do to cleanse your face and neck before bed, or to freshen up with on a morning. personally, I always shower in the morning anyway, so using them on a night time is what I always do. I find that at the end of the day my face can have a little greasy surface on it, so cleansing your face before bed is a must if you want clear skin. Since I started using the pack of wipes I have already found my skin to be much softer, especially in the morning after using them.
As I found out Asda do not test on animals, this product is great for anyone wanting reassurance of this from a product they use regularly. I think this product will be especially useful to women who wear make-up every day, but they are also ideal for men, as men generally don't have as much of a skin regime as women do, and this simple to use product is perfect for those in a hurry. value for money and well worth a try, the results will begin to show almost immediately!
I constantly get told by both my mum and my friends that I should have a skin care regime. However, I'm quite lazy when it comes to skin care and even though I have all the products I rarely use them. I'm well aware that by starting skin care now it will help me later on in life but for some reason I just cant get into it! Therefore, when my Mum saw these in Asda she decided to grab me a packet. I use wipes to remove my make up anyway she she thought the added benefits from the 4 in 1 aspect wouldn't do any harm.
==Where can I find these, how much do they cost and whats in the pack?==
These are Asda wipes and therefore they are only available in Asda. There are 33 wipes in the packet and the pack states that it is a bigger pack so I would imagine there are more wipes in here than there were previously. They cost just £1.
==What are the wipes for?==
The wipes are 4 in 1. They cleanse, tone and moisturise as well as moving make up. They contain no soap, colour, fragrance or alcohol so they are perfect for sensitive skin.
==How do I use the wipes?==
Using the wipes is so simple, even I dont mind doing it daily! You simply wipe the wipe over your face and your done!
I always use the wipes to freshen up my face or to remove make up. In the morning when my skin is feeling a bit tired the wipes really help to freshen me up and make my skin feel much more awake. They are also brilliant for removing make up, just a simple wipe helps to get it all off including waterproof mascara. In the past I have found some wipes do not remove all traces of make up and the next morning I find more traces on the skin. However, this is not the case with these wipes and the next morning no make up from the previous day comes off on the wipes.
==How do the wipes affect my skin?==
I have very sensitive skin and these are fine with my skin. Since using these I have noticed my skin is soft and smooth and I have been getting less spots and less blemishes.

==Would I recommend them?==
Absolutely. For £1 for 33 wipes they are definitely worth a try. I dont think these would be as beneficial as a complete skincare regime however for anyone who is either in a rush or is a little bit lazy like I am it is a brilliant alternative. They remove make up easily and look after my skin.
While shopping at Asda, these wipes were on special offer for a 4 packs for only £3 and so I bought 4 as I use a lot of facial wipes and I thought I would then have lots to keep me going for some time, and these are a brilliant wipe and they suit my sensitive skin perfectly.
The packaging is a nice plastic to keep the wipes nice and moist, and the wipes inside the pack are moist and a thick one, they are a very good quality wipe and they feel nice and smooth on my skin, they have a really nice soft texture and are very easy to hold and do not slip from my hand while using them as I have found with some other brands.
These are free from fragrance and so are very kind to the skin, they are also alcohol, soap and colour free too, which is good for my skin and I found they did not irritate it at all and left it nice and clean and very soft.
They moisturise the skin as they are being used and they remove my make up perfectly and my skin has not felt too dry after using them, it has been in a good condition and I have had no irritation at all since using them.
They also contain Jojoba and Shea butter and they just glide across the skin in such a nice way for my liking, I can feel it working the minute I use these and I have found that I only need to use 1 or 2 if I am removing my make up and just one if I am just cleansing my face, they also contain pro- vitamin B5 and Vitamin E and so they nourish the skin too.
There are 33 wipes in each pack and that is a very good amount for the very cheap price and they are a 4 in 1 wipe, and they moisturise, tone, cleanse and are specially designed to remove make up perfectly without having to rub or irritate the skin.
I absolutely love the texture of these wipes and the amount of moisture each one holds and I love the softness of them and they feel beautiful while using them too.
They are also dermatologically tested and I am very pleased with the way my skin has felt since using them and I highly recommend them for anyone to give them a go as I do not think anyone would be disappointed with these facial wipes at all and they are well worth the price and they are a very good price while on special offer and so I suggest buying the 4 for £3 and save yourself lots of money and I will buy them again in the future, especially when I see them on offer as it makes sense as they suit my skin very well.
I give these 5 stars.
Thank you for reading my review.
ALthough I usually stick rigidly to my St Ives facial scrub to cleanse my face, I tend to always keep a packet of facial wipes in the cupboard, usually to take up mascara and any othe eye make up, or on those occasions when I am so tired that I cannot muster the energy to wash my facial properly before falling asleep.
I have previously been using Tesco wipes, but on a recent visit to Asda, I picked up this pack of Asda own brand Skin System 4 in 1 sensitive skin facial wipes for £1.
It states on the pack that it is now a bigger pack containing 33 wipes. On the front it states that these facial wipes contain active ingredients pro vitamin B5 and vitamin E. As it states on the product name, these wipes are sensitive, which is ideal for me, as I have quite sensitive skin.
On the reverse of the pack, it says that these facial wipes have been 'specially formulated to cleanse, tone and moisturise all in one and are perfect for removing make up too'. They are also 'fragrance, soap, colour and alcohol free'. Shea butter and jojoba have also been added for moisturisation, nourishment and to aid the condition fo delicate skin.
Reassuringly, on the back, it also claims that Asda will refund and replace these if you are not 100% happy.
I have been using these wipes, predominantly to remove eye make uo for the last couple of weeksand so far I have been very pleased with the results. Although I find that you need to wipe the eye area a few times before all the mascara is removed, I am very pleased with these wipes. Not once has there been any irritation after using them, and I do feel that my eye area is being moisturised when I use them. I think they are great value for the price that you pay and they are perfect for those with sensitive skin. My oily skin couldn't rely on these all the time for cleaning my whole face, but they are perfect for removing make up or simply giving your face a quick wipe at the end of a tiring day.
Asda Sensitive 4in1 Facial Wipes
What are they?
A pack of facial wipes by ASDA.
Especially formulated for sensitive skin and have four functions - to cleanse, tone, moisturise and also removes eye make-up.
What do I think?
These are fantastic, probably one of the best on the market. Extremely great value for money and they work! The wipes are 100% fragrance and colour free and have been dermatologically approved. I have quite sensitive skin myself and I have not really had any problems with using these.
Each moist wipe is about the right size and thickness and really effectively removes all the surface make-up off your face, even eye-make up. It's probably not brilliant at removing every last trace of make-up though especially if you have a lot on. The wipe itself is also not as moist as I'd like it to be, so it does take a bit more of an effort to remove the make-up and can 'drag' the skin a bit. The wipes are not meant to replace normal lotion cleansing anyway, but it still is good at what it does, is to remove almost all of the surface make-up off the face.
These are especially good for the eyes as it isn't as moist as it could be, in case any of the residue ends up in the eyes, but still it is only just about enough for the face. It's really strange, on the packet it says keep away from contact from the eyes, but it is also supposed to help you remove eye make up!
There are 30 wipes in a pack, which is more than many other brands, and only around 85p per pack! It is unbelievable at that price, and you would expect the quality to be compromised, but the wipes are very effective at removing make-up and are also enriched with vitamin E, provitamin B7 and some sea minerals!
