Astral All Over Moisturizer
Advantages: A trustworthy, natural cream
Disadvantages: a little greasy at first
There are certain products which I have stuck with for years, if I like a brand I do tend to stick with it and this is definitely one of those. This is a very thick, white all over moisturiser which really agrees with my skin and for this reason I haven't felt the need to try any new or fancy brands of moisturiser. It is recommended for mature and ageing skin but is great for all ages.
My daughter works in healthcare and spends a lot of time wearing gloves which really does dry out the hands. I always pick her up a tub of this when I'm buying it and she has followed in my footsteps and constantly carries one of the smaller pots in her handbag (the 50ml is a nice little size to carry around). I also always pack one for my holidays as its very moisturising all over the body when the sun has left my skin feeling a little dry.
I mainly use this as a hand cream these days but it does work well all over, it is also good on the legs if you experience any dry skin from shaving.
The pots haven't changed much over the years, for as long as I can remember they have been in the bright blue tub as pictured with a screw off lid, the range of sizes available are 50ml, 200ml and 500ml.
It is widely available in chemists and supermarkets, I find the larger the pot you buy the better the value, I keep a 500ml pot at home but also the smaller ones for when I'm on the go.
The 200ml is currently half price in Tesco at £1.85.
The moisturiser is very thick and rich, it rubs into the skin and absorbs well and the largest pot lasts a very long time. My daughter goes through the 50ml tub pretty quickly as she uses it so often but insists it is the best cream she has used on her hands.
There is a pleasant scent from the cream which isn't strong and soon fades.
I would highly recommend this product, it hasn't been around for years and remained unchanged for no reason. It is a reliable and trustworthy brand and a firm favourite of mine.
There is only one negative with this, which is when it is first applied it can leave your skin a small bit greasy but it does absorb and is fine in a couple of minutes.
There is also a light and creamy version in a pale blue pot which I haven't tried as the original works fine for me. *Not tested on animals.
Joanna Lumley once said she uses this product to remove make up as she is allergic to lots of products, if it's good enough for Joanna..........
Summary: A brand I will be sticking with
