      Disadvantages

Great gel cleanser - I will be purchasing it again

My skin type: Dry/ Very dry and sensitive
I occasionally have large patches of eczema on my face

I first tried Avene Eau Thermale Gentle Gel Cleanser after seeing positive reviews about the product from people with the same skin type as me. I wanted to start to use a wash-off cleanser but have always struggled to find ones that do not make my skin flare up.

On receiving the product I thought that the package was nice. It comes in a tall, thin, slightly clear bottle which is helpful to see how much product is left. It also has a pump on the top which I am very fond of - it just makes washing your face easier when you don't have to unscrew the cap. The negative is that the bottle did not come with a cap or lid so I'm like to take extra precaution when travelling in case the bottle gets pressed on and pumps any gel out.

The gel is nicely scented and is very gentle on skin. I use this in my regular nightly routine and also after exfoliating my face and find it doesn't sting at all.
I am very happy with the product and will be buying it again.

A amazing product - calmed my eczema - highly recommended! :)

Avene Eau Thermale Gentle Gel Cleanser

I have just received this today thought the post this morning as a sample with two other avene samples and I didn't expect them and I am very happy with them. I have not tried avene before and I signed up to their news email and I got these samples which is amazing!

They make loads of products that are great for sensitive skin and they also make anti shine products and they make anti redness products (which I am so going to buy shortly).

I do have sensitive skin and over the past week my eczema has gotten really bad and the small patches of eczema on my face have been very red and irritated and I could not use my lush angels on bare skin as it has been so irritated (not by the cleanser). So I tried this, this morning and I am so happy with it.

This past week my skin has even been irritated by my simple moisturizer, my angels on bare skin - which both are natural and have no chemicals in which could have irritated my skin. But using this did not irritate my eczema at all and it was great on the rest of my skin too. It left my skin very gently cleansed, soften and smoothed. And also a bit moisturized too! It stopped my eczema from feeling like my skin was burning and it stopped my eczema from being irritated all day - and I was so surprised at the results, but this is the only product that has stopped the burning sensation. It is amazing just after one use, but this is just my skin, and other people may get different results.

I can't wait to use this again when my eczema has cleared up and I can use it on my normal skin. It is also hypoallergenic and it is non comedogenic - so it does not clog pores! Which is great.

It is a creamy white colour with small orange coloured microparticles in it which have vitamin E in them and they also have moisturiser in them too, to soften the skin. The appearance of the product reminds me of the sanctuary body wash with the orange particles in it. Also I think that the cleanser and all of the other products that this company makes uses spring water from France too - which is supposed to be really good for the skin.

I got this as a 25ml sample which is amazing and I am so happy with it but you can buy it from boots for £11.50 for 200ml which is good value. I will so buy buying this product when my angles on bare skin runs out.

        Conclusions
        Good points
        *Hypoallergenic and non comedogenic
        *Calmed by eczema
        *Very gentle but effective
        *Good make up remover
*Great for sensitive skin and combined skin
*Made by specific dermatology labs in France
        *Available to buy from www.boots.com
*cleansed, softened and smoothed my skin

I can't wait to use it when my eczema has cleared up too because it is great!

Thank you for reading my review

        **Update** 10/07/2010
I have been using this product for three days now and it is still really great (unlike my eczmea) but I will continue to use this, as it is really gentle and cleansing.
