I have been using a number of the Avene products for about three weeks now and I have to say I am very impressed. I have the awful problem of combination skin with irritability and redness.

Avene products, unlike any others I have found (and believe me I have tried everything, Gatineau, Elemis, Liz Earle, Molton Brown etc)give soothing qualities but also attack oily patches but without drying them out. Of course you have to get the right combination of products.

I have used, the Rinse off Gentle gel cleanser which is much less drying than most and allows you to use water, which I know many prefer to tissue off cleanser. In addition, I am a great advocate of some kind of toner to rebalance the PH of the skin. The Avene thermal water is great as a spray toner because it gives you the calming anti-irritant properties of the spring water which you can apply to the areas you require. I then tissue dry. I live in a very hard water area which I think is exacerbating the irritability and this product has really started to work wonders.

The anti-redness cream for hot weather is also great since it has a slight beige tint which covers any remaining pinkiness but this progressively reduces over the course of the day. The cream leger is also nice and reduces shininess.

I have also used some of the body products which have had equally remarkable results. Again due to sensitivity, I had large red patches on my arms after coming out of the shower. These then turned into very dry patches later in the day. I use a combination of the Avene ultra rich soap free cleansing bar and the Avene AKERAT body care cream. Applying just once a day every day for about a week and the skin is now incredibly soft and nourished, something I haven't been able to achieve even with direct application of top quality shea butter.

oduct range which smells pure.
