Advantages: leaves my face soft and smooth, moisturises well, good for my partners dry cheeks

Disadvantages: none for us!

I don't really have dry skin on my face, but as a general preference I am quite fond of Avon's range of face creams. Some time ago Avon had an offer on and I probably paid about £1.50 for this 200ml tub which seemed good value!

It comes in a rather large, white, plastic tub, with a basic orange design as shown in the picture. It has a blue screw top lid, which I prefer as I am able to dip my hands in and gather as much of the face cream as I need and apply it directly to my face.

The colour of the face cream is white with a slight orange/cream tinge to it and smells quite neutral with a soft perfumed smell. The texture of it is not particularly solid, it is quite light and gentle, and has a slightly whipped texture to it. If you were to hold the tub upside down guaranteed, the face cream would all plop to the floor! Whilst this may not be to everyone's liking, I like this consistency, and I feel this makes it quite soft and gentle upon application on my skin and it absorbs in really easily. It isn't greasy and doesn't leave my face shiny and it leaves my face rather soft and smooth. A little of this cream actually goes a really long way, I merely dip 2 fingers in and gather a bit on the tips and this is more than enough to apply all over my face - so the longevity of the tub is really worth the £1.50 I paid as I have had this probably coming to 4 months or so now (although I do alternate using this with my face, hands and body cream depending which is nearest my reach in the bathroom lol.

Avon advertise it's properties as "Soothes chapped flaky, irritated skin. With moisturising Pro-vitamin B5 and Rice Bran Oil to provide relief, and help skin retain its own moisture. Save severely dry skin with gentle moisture that relieves itching and roughness." I do find this face cream locks in moisture, as my face stays well moisturised and nourished throughout the day, but no more impressively so than any other face cream I have owned, so I am not sure how well it is for particularly dry skin. My partner gets quite dry skin in the winter, and he likes using this as he gets quite dry patches on his cheeks and he has said this helps, so it does seem to aid roughness and patches.

Overall, I quite like this face cream and have had no problems using it. It doesn't have fancy claims like reducing wrinkles, or rejuvenating my face, just to soothe flaky skin and help skin retain moisture. It prevents my face feeling dry all day (which for me is the main purpose of a face cream anyway!), leaves my face soft and smooth and it was a mere £1.50! I couldn't ask for much else, so I would recommend this.

Summary: a decent face cream from Avon
