“ Brand: Avon / Subcategory: Cleanser / Oil free: yes / What it does: Cleanses, blemish control / Product line: Avon Clearskin „
I'm not typically one of those girls who will have a beauty routine and who consistently looks after their skin well. However there came a point where my skin was getting to the state that I couldn't handle, being on a budget I ordered this product from the sale booklet in the Avon catalogue a long with a few other products, I paid £1.50 for the product but I think it retails at around £3-4 at full price.
The idea of the product is to use it daily and it will reduce and remove any blemishes on your skin and just leave it feeling and looking a whole lot healthier. My expectations of the product was that it probably wouldn't work very well and if it did it would take a few weeks to start showing visible effects.
The packaging of the product looked nice enough, there is a fresh blue theme that looks encouraging to those who don't really feel comfortable using products like this and the flip cap makes it easy to keep clean and minimises spillages and leaking. To apply the product I usually put a reasonable amount of it onto my hand and then apply it to my face in a circular motion until my face is covered in a thin layer of the blue gel. The gel is fairly firm and not at all runny which made it easier to apply.
Whilst the gel is on my face I feel a cold tingling feeling, it's not a painful feeling but it does feel as if the product is in fact doing something to my skin. after 2-3 minutes I rinse the gel off my face which didn't turn out to be as hard as I thought it would be, the product removes in just a few wipes from a wet flannel or using your hands over the sink.
The results of the product are quite impressive, there was a visible reduction in spots and redness and it also left my skin looking moisturised and not oily. There were still parts of my face which weren't improved so much however for £1.50 any improvements were great.
Overall this product can be bought cheaply if yo wait for the right time and can offer great results for those who suffer with less than perfect skin and would like to bring it back to life a little. I would definately recommend this at the sale price and the retail price seeing as other products on the market that don't work so well can go up to triple the price of this one!
I am a big fan of Avon clear skin range and am very sad to see that it is no longer going to be available in there books any more so will be stocking up whilst it is on clearance, at the moment this is £2 for a 125ml tube.
I associate the word cleanser to be a product I use on cotton wool to clean my face after having already washed my face so thought I better start by telling you that this is actually a cleansing face wash.
It comes in a tube with a flip top lid so is really easy to get out and use, to use you first need to wet your face and then apply to the skin massaging all areas, leave it on your skin for 30 seconds then rinse with clean water.
It feels ice on my skin, its not too harsh like others I have tried and doesn't sting my skin, it does sting your eyes so be wary of getting it in your eyes, it is easy enough to rinse off and after using my skin feels great, it feels really balanced and fresh, it no longer feels greasy any more and doesn't feel too dry either.
This is a nice face wash that does help with blemishes, it calms down and soothes the redness from spots and helps to stop them reappearing.
I work in a hot, oily, greasy environment and even without that my skin can by prone to becoming rather oily but at the same time rather dry in other areas. Combination skin - most definitely. So finding the best thing to wash my face with in the morning is difficult, I want something that will keep the oil under control without causing my skin to dry out any further. After trying many different high street brands, I decided to give this a go and it does an excellent job!
I had originally used this as I had used any other facial wash; wet my face, apply a small amount to my face, lather and rinse - and it did a reasonable job. However, it was only when I fully read the back of the bottle that I started getting the best result from it. Once applied to the face, you are meant to leave it on for 30 seconds before rinsing off and since I started doing that my skin has improved a lot - it is significantly less greasy and whilst I still have some dry skin, which I still moisturise for, it certainly hasn't made it any worse, which is a definite plus in my book!
The cleanser itself is fairly thick, though not as much as some I've come across and you don't need very much to get a good lather on your face; this is particularly handy as it means each container lasts quite a while! It has no strong smell, just a slighty soapy fragrance which doesn't hang around once you've washed it off your face.
At £1.50 on eBay I'd say it's a real bargain, I think it's about the same through Avon too, although I don't have a catalogue to hand to verify this.
