“ Brand: Avon / Texture: Cream / Type: Moisturiser / What it does: Moisturizes / Product line: Avon Clearskin „
I have combination skin so i have to be careful with what i put on my skin especially Moisturiser. as i've mentioned in other reviews avon has the only skin care ranges i can use compared to other popular high priced brands. I'm also in the middle of using a very strong cream to help with big pores which dries my skin out terrible if i don't Moisturise properly. This Moisturiser is basically okay for anyone to use no matter what skin type you have but, most people with combination or oily skin opt for it. It helps to soak up oil from the skin but at the same time keeps your skin hydrated. This isnt the brand from avon i use everyday but i do keep a few bottles incase i run out of my other Moisturisers because it isn't the best thing... but, it's the next best thing. It comes in a little bottle with a spring disepenser just a little pressure and you'll get a blob about the size of a 20p which is enough for your whole face. Is it a pretty a weird colour a very light blue. At first it seems like it's very thick but, it's actully quite thin. It's applies easy and takes about five minutes to sink into the skin. I wouldn't reccomend using it at night if you have oily skin or get spots easily it's more of a day cream. Also even though it soaks up alot of oil on and from the skin your skin can still seem abit greasy if it's not left to dry long enough. The prices vary but it's usually about £3.50 to buy but you can get it cheaper in sale books for as little as £1.00. I would suggest it to a friend but I wouldn't claim it's a miracle product although it does do more than enough considering the price. It's great for in the summer because of the hydrating effect it has. Price rating 5/5 Packing 4/5 Overall rating 3/5
I bought 'Avon Clearskin - Mattifying Moisturiser' from an Avon catalogue a few months ago. I have to admit, after a few failed products from other Avon ranges, i was skeptical to whether it would work or not. The price When i bought it, it was on sale at around £1.75. The price varies from time to time and is included in a lot of the Avon sales. It's normal price is £4.00. It's best to check out online and in the catalogue regularly to snatch the best deal when it comes! The Packaging It comes in a dainty, minature 50ml bottle which has a little blue pump at the top that you push down on and the cream comes squirting out. It's quite a sensitive pump, and requires minimal effort, so be gentle when squeezing so you don't get too much product projecting out! The moisturiser itself is held in a little white bottle, which in a way is useless, as it's much more handier to see how much product is left so you know when to stock up on some more. The white bottle has 'Avon clearskin mattifying moisturiser' printed on the front, and a little circle logo at the bottom. It has a warning on the back to 'Avoid contact with eyes', which is written in English then many different other languages, which is rather considerate and practical of Avon, as not all of their consumers will be able to understand English. I find this is where many other products fail in meeting their consumers needs. The bottle is recyclable also. It's made of plastic and is very sturdy, there would be no chance of the bottle breaking. It's minature, so it's easy to slip into your bag and transport around but the lock on the pump really needs a good twist to lock it and if you don't lock it correctly or the lock becomes unlocked by itself, it can spill the contents out into your bag (personal experience). The Product The moisturiser itself is a light, mint green shade. The green combats any red of your skin tone to produce a balanced complexion! It's of a very thin consistency and feels very wet and oily, although it gives very good coverage. The only way i can explain the smell is 'fresh and clean'. It has like a clinical, medicated aroma to it, but it's in no way over powering or sickly. It's surprisingly quite soothing. It claims to moisturise your skin while combating oily areas! The Application To apply you simply squeeze the pump and use the amount it gave you to massage into your face. Remember to keep it as even as possible for maximum results, and use only the amount the pump gave you as to not over-use the product, unless you feel your skin really requires it. It should dry in within a few minutes and then your ready to go! You can use it before applying foundation to give you a flawless, even complexion. The Results I found that the cream drastically reduced the red areas of my skin. Not only did my skin look more even and healthier, it was more radiant! As for moisturising my skin, it did slightly, but it made no difference to the oily areas of my skin. Downfalls It didn't make any difference to the oily areas of my skin and although it did moisturise i wasn't overly amazed at the results. The pump can sometimes create spillages. Overall I found that this product is good for combating an uneven complexion and giving you a more flawless, even looking skin tone. I use this during the day before i apply my make-up to help out my uneven complexion and to try to combat my make-up drying out my skin. As a daily/nightly moistuiser, this would not be my first choice, as it only moisturises to a small extent and the results do not last as long as i hoped, so i use this along with my normal moisturising cream to try to keep my skin healthy. For daily use with around 1-2 pumps, it should last a month or two at least. All in all, it failed to do what it said it would, but provided me with a product that helped me combat my uneven skintone, so for that reason, i will continue to purchase it. I guess it's dependant on what type of skin you have if this product will work on you or not. If your looking for a product that can combat oily skin, then i'm doubtful this is the product for you. If your looking for a product that can moisturise your skin, then this perhaps could be the product for you. If your looking for a product that can balance out your skintone, then this is definetely the product for you and i would without doubt recommend it!
I originally used Clean & Clear Morning Burst moisturiser but I ordered this as I like trying different moisturisers. This one is hit and miss, sometimes it only *just* hydrates my skin and I can still feel a little bit of dry skin but it is unnoticeable when I get out of the house (but we all have different skin). It is a lovely blue/green colour and this has a purpose! The green counteracts any red on the skin and help even out skin tone. So if you have a giant red spot between your eyes and you use this moisturiser then the red should look less red and underneath any make-up the spot should effectively look none existent. Just like those green concealer sticks you see that are green. I used to wonder what on Earth they were for but you use green concealer under your eyes and on top of spots to neutralise the red on the spot. I love the smell, it smells like fresh plastic bags as weird as that sounds. It is amazing for the price, if your skin is pretty neutral hydration wise after a shower/wash then this would be perfect for you. My skin is very very dry, I haven't gone more than 15 minutes after a wash without moisturiser for years. The price does fluctuate between £1 (when Avon feels generous) and £4 max I have seen it at but very rarely. I but my last for about £2. It lasts around a month and a half. If you were using one pump twice a day.
Avon Clearskin Mattifying Moisturiser: Avon Clearskin Mattifying Moisturiser is actually my biggest beauty secret. It's cheap as chips but it works perfectly and my make-up routine is quicker and simpler than ever since I discovered this wonder-product. After a couple of years of keeping it to myself I've decided to share my secret with you. This marvellous product doesn't look much, it comes in a dinky 50ml tube, (white plastic), with a very useful blue plastic pump on the top. This like the rest of the Clearskin range looks like proper medicated skincare while still looking fresh and quite cool. It's size means I can fit it in my bag easily but the pump dispenser doesn't seem to lock properly and I'm always worried that it is going to leak everywhere. It never has actually leaked though so maybe it's fine after all! The pump only dispenses a small amount which is great to minimise wastage and I normally use 3-4 pumps to cover my face and neck. A tub lasts me about five months but then I don't use it every day either so if you did it wouldn't last as long. The main thing is what's inside the tub in the form of a thick green lotion. It's not too rich or heavy and sinks into my skin within minutes. The greenness is not noticeable at all once it's sunk into the skin and it helps to eliminate any reddish from your complexion. It isn't the best moisturiser in the world so I do use a separate night cream too but it is great for daytime and stops the other make-up drying my face out too much. The real magic of this though is it's ability to prevent all shine for a whole day! I am lucky enough to have clear skin with a very pale even skin tone so I actually don't use foundation anymore unless I want to feel "made-up" for a special occasion. All I use is this and a light dusting of pressed powder! The time and hassle of applying foundation always annoyed me so I am glad to no longer have to faff about every time I put make-up on. Even the other half says I look "noticeably matte" when I have this on. I've used it with just a touch of concealer before as well and it looked fine. Since using this I have stopped getting spots almost all together; I'm not sure how much that has to do with this moisturiser and how much is to do with the fact that I have stopped clogging up my pores with foundation but either way it's good news. This little miracle costs £4.00 normally, (buy from avonshop.co.uk or your local representative), but it is often on offer and currently is half price at just £2.00! it has to be the best beauty bargain ever!
I have always had very inbalanced skin and have spent years waiting for it to sort it self out and trying varous products in the mean time to help with the fact i have very oily t zones and dry patches else where on my face, i find this a particularly bad problem when wearing foundation as there are areas particluarly on my chin and around my nose that look shiny just a few hours after applying my makeup. When i saw this in the avon book on offer at just £2 half its usual price i thought it was worth giving it a try as if it didnt work i wouldnt have wasted loads of money on it. It comes in a nice little pump action bottle containing 50ml of cream which lasts quite a while even with daily use as all you need is one pump of the bottle to do your whole face each day, the cream is a pale blue colour with a nice clean smell to it that doesn realy have a distinct scent to it. The cream claimed to dry out your oily patches and keep them dry all day and moisturise the dry areas of your face, well i was very sceptical about this as i had never heard of a cream that dryed and moisturised before so was very pleasantly surprised when it lived up to its claims, Used on its own without makeup it gives my skin a nice even look about it that lasts all day and a nice dry touch to the skin but feels lovely and soft, with foundation it stops the oily patches appearing and leaves my skin feeling lovely and fresh at the end of the day. I would definately recomend this to anyone with unbalanced skin like mine
I'm a big fan of the Avon clearskin range. All the products I have tried from it have worked well, and left my skin feeling smooth and healthy. I've been using the Mattifying moisturiser for about a year or so now, and I noticed a huge different in the amount of spots on my face after I started using it. Having oily skin, the mousturiser also helped to get rid of excess grease (yes, disgusting, isn't it?), which stopped my face being shiny all day. It comes in a small bottle with a pump-like dispenser, which does tend to jam a lot (very annoying, I'll tell you!) but when it's not sticking it works very well, pumping out a vaguely greenish cream, which looks disgusting but smells lovely, I think it's tea tree in it. The bottle holds 50ml, which lasted me on average a couple of months using it day and night. Once you put the cream on (you only really need a little bit), it sinks into the skin quickly and easily, leaving a nice tingle feeling, which makes me feel like my skin is lovely and clean. Then you can put on your usual make-up on over it, and I've noticed it's a very good base for putting foundation, blusher, powder etc. on over, as the make-up stays on much longer than it would if I used baby lotion instead. And I stopped using the Mattifying Moisturiser a few months ago when I had run out, and I noticed the spots returning, so it definately does help with removing acne. It currently retails on the Avon website for £4 a bottle, an excellent bargin, when you think of all the high end moisturisers which cost three times the price or more, and don't really do much different. I highly reccommend this product.
Being truthful, I absolutely DETEST the Avon Clearskin range. Everything i've ordered from there has either given me more spots, or dried out my skin. This product was more of an experiment. I've always suffered from oily skin in the T-Zone, and there's only so much powder a girl can use. It was on offer for £2 so I thought if it didn't work, it's not too much of a waste. Honestly, I could not live without this moisturiser. I absolutely LOVE it. After applying this under my foundation, I have no oil for the entire day. It does exactly what it says on the bottle. It's a baby blue colour and smells really pleasant. The little pump means you only get a small amount of product, so none is wasted. I usually use around 3/4 pumps. The only bad thing is, as I said the Avon Clearskin range does tend to break me out so sadly I can't use this moisturiser on my face of a night time as I will wake up with a few spots! I strictly use it when I use foundation. It really is worth buying if you suffer from excess oil. If you're slightly sceptical of paying full price £4 for this, then wait until it's on offer as it's been in quite a few of the sales this year.
I've always read good things about Avon's Clearskin range, and I came across their mattifying moisturiser when I was looking for a soothing moisturiser that hydrated but reduced shine. Clearskin Mattifying Moisturiser can be found in their catalogue or online shop and is described as "an essential step in keeping blemishes at bay. Absorb excess oil while providing light hydration". Perfectly matched what I wanted and I managed to bag it when it was on sale (and currently still is) at £2. That's half the usual price of £4, but even at full price I think it still compares well to similar products in places like Boots. I think it rarely pays to splash out on an expencive product because there's plenty out there for a fraction of the price that does the same thing (just without a brand name or fancy packaging). It comes boxes with instructions for use and ingredients on the outside so it feels a bit more professional; I think it's good knowing you're putting your skin in the safe hands of a producer who knows what they're doing, especially if you have fairly sensitive skin. The plastic white bottle is relatively small and lightweight, so you can easily pop it in your bag, and has a blue push down top. You get 50ml of white moisturiser which in my opinion is just the right consistency - not runny but not too thick. I had a slight problem getting the push down mechanism to work and nearly broke it in the process, so it was a little tricky to get it started, but then it's easy to dispense after that. You don't need to use much, so one little blob will probably suffice. The guidelines on the box suggest you apply a thin layer on your face after cleansing 3 times daily. I personally only use this once in the morning and that keeps my face oil-free but moisturised for most of the day quite well. It also means the bottle will last quite a while so it's good value for money. It absorbs into the skin easily without being greasy and is nice & light. I wouldn't say it's really purfumed either, it's just pleasant so there's nothing really to dislike about it. Overall I would definitely recommend this if you're looking for a light moisturiser that keeps shine and oil at bay. I think I'll stick to Avon from now on rather than branded products that cost more and don't seem to live up to their claims. It's a good price (especially when on offer), not much is needed so it should last you a while and it does what it says on the box.
When it comes to facial care products for the past few years I have chosen Avon Clearskin products because mainly it was convenient.. My neighbour is an Avon lady and she brings the products I use directly to my door, and the fact that it isn't too expensive with constant offers on, it is a bargain most of the time.. ~~ What is the product? ~~ This product is the Avon Clearskin Mattifying Moisturiser.. The actual moisturiser comes in a little 50ml bottle in plain white with the writing written on in blue and green, the normal colours for a product of this section of the catalogue.. With a warning written on the back in numerous different languages.. The moisturiser actually comes in a box with the ingredients on the back.. However as unlucky as it is a cant find the box! ~~ Texture and smell of the product ~~ This product actually is a very pale blue in the pump bottle and when expressed onto your fingers to be massaged into your face.. The product itself is obviously wet.. With it being a liquid, but unlike water its not runny it has the right consistency to be applied to the face without making it look wet or greasy.. It has a thickness that when rubbed into the skin thins to spread evenly.. The product has that usual chemical smell of moisturiser but is not too chemical that you wouldn't want to apply it.. The smell is definitely not pungent so that when applied that's all you can smell.. ~~ So is it any good? ~~ Well I do happen to use this product everyday, on top of and under my make-up.. It is quite good to help blend in a foundation that is maybe a shade too dark, which means less wastage on a foundation and helps the coverage too as some foundations can be a little too solid for my liking.. For those of you who use powder foundation this is also good for underneath your foundation as if you apply a thicker layer to problem areas it can help cover those blemishes! As for the effect it has on your skin.. Worry not about greasy patches and nasty shiny bits on your face were you have applied the moisturiser, it just blends in a is absorbed right before your eyes.. I haven't had a problem with more spots than usual because of it, however that is just my skin.. It leaves my skin suitably refreshed and moisturised until I take my make up off.. ~~ Price ~~ Available exclusively from Avon.. Singly this product is £4 but at the moment the range is on 3 for £5..
