The Liiv Botanicals range are perfect for those who like to look naturally beautiful and avoid using too many harsh chemicals while doing some good for the environment too. Liiv Botanicals products are dermatologically tested (as are most skincare products in truth!) and are also 100% free from dyes, preservatives and use 100% recyclable packaging too. I think they are a little bit like the simple range although I note that these products do not claim to be hypoallergenic so although they may well suit sensitive skin, it is not guaranteed.
The products in this range at present include a vitalising eye cream, revitalising body scrub, a vital body moisturiser, a rejuvenating body wash, a rejuvenating facial cleanser, a revitalising facial scrub, a vital night moisturiser, a vital day cream and Sensuality, the Botanicals EDT spray.
The products I personally have tried recently are the facial scrub, the eye cream, the body scrub and the day cream. The facial scrub was one of the best I ever used and has actually converted me onto using this product full time. It seems a little bit expensive at £5 for a 75ml tube but this is an extremely effective product that is crammed full of exfoliating beads and not watered down as some of the cheaper facial scrubs are. I loved how deep down this cleansed my skin and am pleased to say this only costs £3.50 in brochure 18 so it is an ideal time to try it.
The eye cream was another product I was very impressed with. It is actually my daughter that has this cream, which costs £4 for 12ml and includes SPF15 for daytime use, but I used this for a few days recently rather than open a new product while I was waiting for a new delivery. I have trouble with some eye creams but this one is super gentle and very quick to absorb. It is sometimes on offer though I happy to pay £4 for this as it is just so gentle and effective.
The body scrub I personally was not so keen on. It was very effective but I found the scent a little plain and boring. This may appeal to those who prefer clean scents but I do like my fruity scents in the shower and much prefer using scrubs from the Senses range. This product costs £4 for 200ml which seems quite reasonable though it is slightly watery so do not think this is a major bargain.
The final product I have tried from this range is the Vital Day Cream which was again using my daughter's in place of my usual choice. I really liked that this is SPF20 as that is a slightly higher sun protection factor than most day creams and makes it more suitable for fair skin. I found this was very easily absorbed into my skin and that it left my skin feeling silky soft. As it has no anti-aging properities it is probably best suited to those in their 20s and 30s although more mature skin may find this a good day cream combined with a suitable night cream from an anti-aging range.
Out of the products I have tried I have been extremely impressed with this range. It is not all natural and it is not the next Simple range, but it is part way there and a good compromise for those who want a combination of effectiveness and natural ingredients in one range.
