I am a big fan of Avon Pur Blanca perfume. Because of my liking for the fragrance, I recently purchased the Pur Blanca shower gel and matching skin softener as a treat for myself.
The skin softener comes in an attractive little pot (150ml) and a screw top lid. I'd say the packaging is "minimalist" and rather basic.
The gorgeous rich cream more than makes up for any dissapointment you might feel at the lack of imagination given to the packaging, however. With the subtle scent of Pur Blanca, and a rich almost "velvety" texture to the cream, I'd recommend it to anybody who likes a scent that is not overpowering or heavy. (I'd say this cream is ideal for daytime use).
After using, my skin feels soft and moisturised. I particularly like using all three products together. I.E using the shower gel first, then applying the cream, and finishing off with a few sprays of the fragrance.
This may seem as though the scent would be overpowering, but I find that the Pur Blanca fragrance is very light and fresh.
My only complaint is the price. At £3.50 for a fairly small pot, it isn't cheap when compared to other body lotions or creams, and with everybody feeling the pinch financially at the moment, i'd say it's probably best suited to using on special occasions, or as a treat. That said, it's probably a bit more expensive as it is part of the perfume range, as opposed to other body creams.
And don't forget, there are regular offers in Avon, and i find that this is usually the best time to purchase products like this one, as then they become much more affordable.
I could not possibly have the perfume from the Pur Blanca range and the shower gel without buying this skin softener too! A skin softener is a posh term for body lotion for anyone who is not aware of Avon's terminology. This usually retails at £3.50 for a little pot which I think is very reasonable. It was even better value when I bought it half price for £1.75 just recently.
The pot is quite an attractive little shape with a curve to the middle of the pot. It looks neat and stylish sat on my dressing table. The packaging is a plain white with grey piping that could be a little bit more exciting but it is adequate and good quality nonetheless.
Inside, there is a foil seal that needs to be removed before first use and this is a little bit scrappy to get off. Once I removed it, I could smell the Pur Blanca scent straight away. Nicer still was the gorgeous scent that was left on my skin after I had rubbed a little of this in.
I found the lotion a good thick consistency that was well suited to being tubbed rather than bottled. A little bit went a good way and I imagine that a pot of this would last for a good six months even with regular use. I cannot realistically say how long the scent stayed put for as I use the perfume after dressing and this obviously outlasts the body lotion scent. There is a good strong scent there on initial application though and I think that is the important point to note.
