Avon Solutions Hydra-Radiance Night Serum is a serum that helps to smooth your complexion its primary use is to rejuvenate skin this is why its best to use at night because that's when your skin has a chance to breath and make new skin.
Well, I dont use this anymore but not because of the product because i have to use a cream my doctor gave to me for the night. But, i used to use this every night without fail. It does exactly what it says on the box! I bought this for about £4.00 from avon. You can also get the same product but from the different brand from avon that is planet spa for about £2.00 and it works just as well as i think this brand has been discontinued. i'm so glad i found the reviews on this because im going to start buying it again. maybe even once a week because the acne cream i have dries my skin out alot.
How to apply it and how your skin will feel when you wake up: You apply it at night under your moisturiser if desired. Or even in the day in the same manner. It doesnt feel thick or cloggy on your skin and does not clog your pores. In the morning your skin will feel smoother, firmer and it will be glowing.
I most certainly would recomend this product to someone that wants glowing skin everytime they wake up it's also good if you want to a quick fix maybe the night before a party. and, its also great it wont give you spots and all you have to do is sleep to see the results!
I will start by saying that I've never used a serum before. I bought two bottles of this product when it was 40% off at Avon, and I am very happy with it! It is just the boost I needed to add to my regular moisturizer. When I treat my acne-prone skin with benzoyl peroxide, I always get very dry and flaky no matter what moisturizer I've tried. But, when I apply this over the benzoyl peroxide and under my moisturizer, I end up with soft, smooth, beautiful skin and no dryness! I'm very disappointed that it just got discontinued after I just discovered it. I hope they will bring it back, but if not I intend to either purchase it on ebay or use another serum from Avon.
I would definitely describe my skin as radiant when I wake up in the morning after applying this serum the night before. It really works well and is a wonderful addition to my skincare routine.
I have tried much more expensive nights serums and creams in the past, but this is one of the best in its price range. This light weight silky formula glides on easily, it does not leave a sticky residue and leaves your skin feeling soft and radiant. Which is really useful because I have sensitive skin which can flare up. When used in conjunction with the night cream it works wonders! I found that it really helped to disminsh the look and feel of the lines on my forehead, and my skin still felt clean and fresh the next morning. This product works best when used on a regular nightly basis, I found that the tube/vile lasted around two and a half months, using one and a half pumps.
Night serums like this are intended to be put on before your night cream in order to help your night cream work harder. It helps to prolong the effect of the active ingredients like retinol in your cream.
When it comes to my skin care routine anyone who reads any of my reviews will know by now I take it all very seriously and if I find something to add to my beauty routine to already boost the results I can achieve from my preffered brand of Olay then I will buy it!
I hate Avon. I really do. I love to shop and pick what I want to buy after careful consideration and thorough testing. I love the whole experience and not only do I not get that with Avon products but I find the lack of information on the products really rather annoying and that in a lot of cases the stuff is over priced. I can pick up a leading brand lippie in somewhere like T.J Hughes for 2 quid where as I buy one out of Avon priced about a fiver (after not seeing the colour before I own it) and I don't feel good about the purchase cos I'm a brand snob anyway! So really I could do with knocking buying out of the Avon catalogue on the head.
However I really like my Avon representative, Anita. She works hard for her pennies and when I left an ex (a long time ago now and fled with nothing) I had little money and stood in my now bedroom at my folks house with nothing to my name. I did get all my stuff back eventually but at the time I had only what I stood up in and not even a deoderant. The catalogue came and there were so many deals in it I got myself everything I needed for about a tenner and Anita gave me loads of freebies and stuff from the book she had to help me out. So I feel like I owe her kindness so I always make small purchases and take it on the chin!
Looking through the catalogue last time she popped it round there was nothing I wanted at all till I saw this and took a fancy to it. It's something I knew I could add to my beauty regime easily and I would use it opposed to all the stuff I have hanging round my bedroom and bathroom which is a habit I'm trying really hard to break! So I plumped for buying it and got it the week after and it was actually an item I was looking forward to receiving to be truthful with you!
Well the bottle came in a light turquoise coloured oblong box. On the front I'm told it's Avon Solutions, Hydra-Radiance, Intensive Nutrient Night Serum (Soin Nourrissant Intensif De Nuit) and the size is stated which is 30ml (and the only size this is only available in). On one side of the box there is a load of information in foreign languages on there (I don't understand), and on the other side of the box there is yet more stuff written in foreign languages and then in English the ingredients are listed, the recycle symbol is displayed and I'm told the product is made in Poland and contact details for Avon are given. On the back of the box I'm told it 'Provides a burst of supercharged skin nutrition and a radiant look overnight' and how to use it 'Apply every evening. Smooth over cleansed, dry face and throat until fully absorbed' and a warning is given and then I assume told that over and over again in foreign languages and that's it for the box. Inside the box there is a leaflet that once again tells me a bit bout the product and what to expect, how to use it and a warning is given and once again (as Avon always does) is it is put in several foreign languages once again). The bottle is 30ml (states that on the front), heavy, thick glass with a light turquoise push button dispenser to the top of it. On the front of the bottle in silver, blue and grey writing I'm told it's Avon Solutions, Hydra-Radiance, Intensive Nutrient Night Serum (Soin Nourrissant Intensif De Nuit and there's a orange coloured band of colour on there and three small orange coloured circles as a pattern. On the back (all in grey writing) I'm given a warning (to avoid contact with eyes), lots of information in foreign languages and finally given contact details for Avon. It's a plain and simple looking bottle and overall there is plenty of information available with this product. I like the way I can see the clear/peach liquid (with darker orangy coloured beads throughout it) so that I know how much product I have left within it etc.

My Experience Of Using The Product....
I have used this nightly now for about a month without fail under my usual night time moisturiser.
The consistency of the serum when you first dispense it is like a gel to look at. Not too hard and not one bit sticky it's not runny and appears clear on the skin but for a couple of beads. As you gently rub it into a clean face it goes to like a serum but with no greasy feeling to it. It evenly coats the face and you only need a small amount of it for both the face and the neck. It absorbs very quickly and the beads completely melt and vanish.
Smell wise there is a small detection of like a fruity smell that is none distinctive and once applied and absorbed that smell pretty much disappears anyway. All in all this is incredibly simple and fuss free to apply. It leaves a none sticky feeling on the skin and there is no heavy mask like feeling with this on either. It simply vanishes and leaves skin feeling a little smoother and refreshed but with no tingling sensation or anything like that. It's simply nice to use and leaves skin feeling ever so slightly hydrated but not overly so. Then of course you add your moisturisers and eye creams etc as you wish. They sort of mix into this and again it's not messy or anything and your usual lotions and potions go on to the skin the same as they would without using this product.
Well for all the positives in using this and the fact it feels nice I haven't noticed any change in my skin and like I say I've used it religiously every night for a while now. The only benefits I've felt is comfort when it's on my face and felt my skin was a little smoother to the touch but that's where the benefits end for me. I don't think I look more radiant when it's on my face or in the long term and my skin just doesn't feel any better at all.
Uncomplicated to use and worth a go (if on offer) if your interested Avon did run a trial and people did say they got some benefits from using this (but not all of the panelists). I had hoped for some results of course but this really isn't suitable for me and in my case a total waste of my money!
The usual price of this is £8.00 a bottle but at the time of writing this review it's on offer at £5.00 so do look out for offers and it's only available from Avon.
I've reviewed a few skincare products now, and I always point out that my skin is a right pain in the ass and that's why I've had to try so many different things. I think my new medication is also not helping, and this winter my T-zone has been ridiculously dry, to the point that my forehead seems to be constantly flaking..which I will be the first to admit is really gross.
My usual daytime moisturiser that I use year-round, Body Shop Vitamin E, just doesn't cut it at the moment, and I was beginning to think that nothing would, unless I reapplied every couple of hours, not exactly practical. My mum has always drilled into me the importance of a good moisturiser and when I told her of my troubles she ordered some of this night serum for me from Avon, having liked it herself.
The 30ml bottle has a pump top without a lid, but which locks into place when not in use to avoid spillages. The packaging is simple enough, and you can see the product through the glass. It is full of orange "beads", something I've only ever come across in scrubs or exfoliants, so I did wonder how gentle the product would be, my skin also tending to be irritable at present (can you tell I'm not all that pleased with the skin I'm in?!)
Well, I'm not entirely sure what those beads are, the website being less than helpful about the ingredients at all, but let me assure you, they aren't scratchy! To be honest, I didn't feel them at all and while it would be lovely to know WHAT they are, I don't recall the box being too helpful in that regard either..
Although 30ml doesn't look like a lot, you really need very little and my skin didn't feel greasy, which I was concerned about having never used a gel-based skincare product. It didn't completely sink in and disappear either, my skin was perhaps a tad shiny! My hands, however, did feel a bit slick, and I tend to wash them after use. Be warned that if you don't, and you put your hands anywhere near your mouth, it tastes bloody FOUL! If anyone ever was forced by their parents to use that Stop-and-Gro stuff to stop biting their nails, it is very reminiscent of that!
Avon suggest using this underneath your usual night-time moisturiser. As I have written my other one off as being useless, I know it only lasts a couple of hours, if that, I didn't bother with this and was pleasantly surprised to be greeted by smooth (eg not flaky!) skin the next morning. Some kind of miracle if you ask me that my skin had somehow not got thirsty for a whole eight hours!
I now use my regular moisturiser in the morning still, and this at night, and while I do sometimes still get dry in the day, there's an improvement.
It's hard for me to say whether or not I think my skin was "luminous" upon waking as Avon claim, but considering how problematic it was to begin with, a definite improvement. A 30ml pump usually costs £8 but is currently half-price on the website (avonshop.co.uk). Even full price, when I consider it is around the same price I pay for my good-for-nothing at the moment Body Shop cream, I would be happy to shell out that amount again. Unless of course I can swindle my mum into buying me some, being as she approves of moisturiser so much!
Definitely one to try if you have winter-time skin troubles. My skin is moderately sensitive, and I fared okay, but if you have extreme sensitivity issues, it might not be gentle enough.
