My mum's young neighbour is an Avon rep and I always feel a little guilty if I do not purchase something from her each month as I know she relies on it for a little extra income. But one thing that I always look out for is there Solutions Complete Balance Mask. It is the best face mask I have found so far and seems to work perfectly with my skin and complexion.
The face mask comes in a 75ml bottle and currently costs £5.00, I purchased mine from the last Avon book at a special offer price of just £2.50. I thought that this was very good value as I get around 10-15 uses from the tube as you do not need to use a large amount for it to be effective.
I have been using this facemask for about 3 years, although it has only just been re-launched in new packaging. When they first stopped selling the mask they did have it in one of their clearance books so I stocked up and have not long ran out. I did try a couple of their different masks in the meantime but they were just not as good as this one.
The mask comes in a tube with a screw cap lid which the tube stands on, the bottle start's of a pearlescent silver colour and fades into a green. The packaging is very simple and fresh looking with just the title on the front. On the back of the tube is the ingredients listing of the mask and the instructions for use although this is very difficult to read as the print is tiny and in several different languages which is all squeezed onto the back of the quite small tube.
The instructions for use if you can read them are; after cleansing to smooth the mask over dry skin. Leave until completely dry (about 15 mins). Rinse with warm water. Pat face dry. It does state to avoid your lip and eye area.
My skin type is rather annoying, it is slightly combination but also prone to breakouts at times. I use a cleanser, toner and mosituriser daily but sometimes find that using a face mask once or twice a week helps keep my skin looking fresher and brighter.
The mask itself is a clay based one, when you squeeze it out of the bottle it is quite thick and pale grey in colour. The mask has little exfoliating grains flecked throughout it. When I first apply the mask to my skin I rub it in a little in a circular motion to help exfoliate and get rid of any dry skin patches. I then leave the mask onto fully dry, I tend to find the instructions are correct and it takes around 15 mins to completely dry. The mask has quite a stong fragrance which is a little antiseptic smelling but not unpleasant. The mask does take a bit of time to rinse off but when it is finally all off it leaves my skin feeling fantastic. My face is left smooth, fresh and cleansed, with my pores appearing much smaller. Overall I am extremely happy with this face mask and would recommend anyone to try it.
So, as I've mentioned before, I work in a rather hot, oily environment and don't exactly have perfect skin to begin with. After a long stressful week I decided that I was going to have a day of pampering myself a bit, so after a nice long hot bath I thought I'd give this face mask a go, in the hope it might help reduce some of the shine on my face.
The mask comes in a small, green 75ml tube with a typical simple Avon design. The directions on the back are very small but also very simply explained: apply to dry skin after cleansing, massaging in for one minute, then leave on until completely dry which takes about 15 minutes.
So after the aforementioned bath, I unscrewed the lid and squeezed a little on to my fingertips. The mask is very thick with a sort of clay-like consistency and colour, there are also lots of little exfoliated beads in the mask, which you feel as you massage the mask into the skin. I spread this gently over my entire face, being careful as to avoid the eyes and lips as recommended and then sat down to watch TV as I waited for the mask to dry. It didn't take very much to cover my entire face, so it seems you would get quite uses out of this tube.
It's quite difficult to put my finger on the exact smell of the product, it's sort of like a very weak alcohol smell - the sort you might find on an un-fragranced wet wipe that contains alcohol, but even that doesn't fully describe it. Not that it's too much of an issue as once you've washed the mask off the smell (not that it's unpleasant) doesn't hang around for long.
After 15 minutes, the mask had most definitely dried, it felt a little tight on my skin, though that's what I would expect and I went to wash it off. Washing it off was simple, just using warm water and my hands it was all off in just a few rinses and I could instantly feel the effect it had on my skin. My skin felt incredible smooth and soft but when I looked at it, I noticed it was not at all shiny, which is exactly what I had hoped for. It didn't feel dry at all which some masks have made my skin feel, just clear, smooth, non-greasy skin, so I am very pleased with the result.
Without a doubt, I'm very happy with this product, it's only meant to be used every now and again, but isn't particularly harsh or drying and the thickness of the product means you'll get several uses out of the tube. Well worth the £4 or so paid for it!
I like to use a face mask now and again. I decided that I was going to use 1 once a week, but got a bit lazy and only pick up the tube now and again. I bought this one a few months ago when it was on offer, and just got round to trying this the other week.
Avon has a few different ranges for different skin types and this one is part of the range for Oily and Combination Skin. I have really bad skin and although Avon do their Clearskin range, I find that too harsh for my face as it tends to dry it out and make parts of it red.
The normal price for this was £4 for a 75ml tube, but I got it for £2. i love a bargain and tend to stock up when there are offers on things I like or things I want to try.
When I applied this it seemed quite thick and gloopy and you didn't need a lot to cover your face. It seems like this tube will do around 8 goes, so not too bad value for money. You leave this mask for 10 minutes and it hardens during time. it washed off alright and I just had to use the sponge the normal way I do with other masks.
Not sure if this reduced pores, but it made my skin soft, quite tight and it had a bit of a nice sheen to it. It didn't seem to irritate my face and it was slightly perfumed, but not too much.
The tube was an alright light green colour and just looked like a normal face mask tube, which was triangle at the top and got narrower at the base.
A good buy when on offer and since it is Avon it is on offer ever other book. Haven't seen this in the current books, hope it is not been discontinued!
I do not use this mask very often these days as I do not really suffer from spots any more but my daughter still uses this during time of the month and has great results from it every time.
This is a clay mask that works by being applied in a smooth, liquidy formula and then tightens as it dries to absorb oil and shrink your pores. It really is very effective at doing that you will find that your pores are noticeably smaller after using this product, if it is that you have enlarged pores to begin with.
This product can be a bit of a pain to wash away like any clay mask is, but you'll find that if you use a flannel or a sponge to help rinse it away with it is easier and quicker to get all of the residue off. I have to say that since my daughter has starting using this regularly, there has been a noticeable improvement in her breakouts during time of the month.
I also like how soft skin feels after using this as that to me is a sign of an effective cleanser.
This is £4 full price and it is often on sale for £2 so watch out for that. It is very good value for money and one tube will last for around 10 applications so that is only 40p per mask.
I've explained before in my reviews that I'm really none to chuffed with Avon. I'm a self confessed consumer snob and I feel for the price I can get better branded products on the high street. However I do like my Avon lady, Anita so I make small orders to keep her coming and there were times I really relied on Avon when I had nothing and bought all their special offers that got me back on track to where I am now lol
Not being keen on the make up or fragrances I tend to buy skin care stuff as a whole which is deadly cheap as chips and perusing the catalogue one evening with the obligatory cup of tea that goes hand in hand with the little catalogue I come across this.
Avon-Solutions Pure Pore-Fection Skin refining Mask.
I love face masks and I use them often. I use mild ones, deep cleansing ones, exfoliating, warming you name them I've had a bash at most, so when I saw this one on offer for 99p I was unable to resist seeming as the ones I usually buy are about a tenner a time!
Green, 75ml recyclable tube with a screw on matching lid. Clearly tells me what it is and who it is by on the front. Round the back tells me to leave on after cleansing to dry skin, massage gently for a minute and leave on till completely dry (about 15 minutes). Rinse with warm water. Gives me warnings, avoid contact with eyes and lips and if it does to rinse well with warm water. Also gives me list of ingredients. Then tells me stuff in different languages I fail to recognise lol. The tube opens at the bottom for ease of use. I'm very impressed with the information that Avon have given with this product as normally I find Avon lack in this area big time which is one of the main reasons I choose not to buy, I mean I prefer to know what I'm slapping on my skin after all.
The Promise...Formulated with Alpha and Beta Hydroxy Acids. Deep cleansing formula gently exfoliates leaving skin smooth, shine-free, even toned and refreshed.
So the reason I bought this is cos I have the worst combination skin going. I need something that takes on my oily T Zone without then going and upsetting my dry areas such as my chin. I need something that helps to unblock my black and white heads and tighten my enlarged pores that take residence on my cheeks.
You have to squeeze the cream out of the tube. It's a thick consistency and it comes out a similar colour to the tube like a greeny color. You don't need loads of it and it spreads on easily. You apply it to the face and you can feel the little grains gently scrubbing your skin. However they are not rough and they don't hurt or scrape your skin. I have found with a few face masks in the past that I have either been to vigorous or they just contain glass like particles and I have ended up slightly grazed. Not with this one. As your applying you can feel it actually being absorbed rather than just sitting around o the skin. What your left with is a lighter paler looking skin with greeny flecks, and the skin appears mattified. It's easy to wash off as it doesn't look or feel like a clay mask. It's not like trying to remove cement, thank goodness! It just simply washes off with minimum time and effort.
Well my skin tingles with clean for want of a better cliche lol It really does look rejuvenated and glowing. Pores are visibly tighter and over time with this product I notice that black heads are taking a back seat on my face and giving room for the wrinkles to set in lol
Being only lightly fragranced (sort of a fresh alpine and fruity smell) it doesn't irritate my eyes so upon removal I'm not crying which makes a lovely well received change! I also notice after application that I don't get greasy looking patches on my skin which is something I do have to watch out for. This isn't a cure but it certainly holds off my oily T Zone. I'm very prone to spots. The big sore ones with no heads in particular that threaten to erupt like a volcano over someones dinner and although I still get the odd one they are less, there are not loads of them as I said and only the occasional one rather than an army of them marching all over my face.
It's odd cos when I first tried this product and applied it it did feel a bit greasy and I thought great, 'dinner time zits' your gonna love this. But no. Also after applying as I mentioned earlier it did tighten up my pores. Again though after rinsing it off you don't feel like your wearing a mask anymore. Skin feels soft, supple and hydrated and really clean, but it is gone. Usually after going near water or using a mask or something, I have to immediately search out some toner as skin can feel chalky and tight, but again not with this it really is excellent.
I'm a huge fan of this product as you may have guessed by now lol. It really does what it says it will and it's one I will re buy. As you don't need much at all It'll last ages and ages as mine has. You can use it as many times a week as you wish as well as its mild enough to. Perfect for male or females of any age. It's soft and gentle but is tough as old boots!
Well done Avon I'm so impressed!
Usually £4.50 a tube, Avon only.
