Does what it says on the tin but requires some effort

This product came in a small handy tin, the tin is colourfully decorated with a badger. The tin fits easily into your pocket or bag. The lid screws open which means that it didn't come udone in my pocket or bag and thus avoided making a mess. The first thing you noticed when you opened it was the smell, it was very medicinal and reminded me of Germoline - great if you like that smell (which I do), but I'm very aware that some people don't. I have a habit of(discreetly) applying hand cream if I'm not doing much else, in a restaurant, in a meeting, on a study day etc etc but was actually put off doing that with this cream because of the smell. The cream is like a very hard wax - quite difficult to get out of the tin in any decent quantity and it took me AGES and I mean AGES to apply, and then I had to leave it for 5-10 mins before it sunk in. This meant I sat doing nothing - ok if you are watching TV but not practical if you have knitting to do, or if you want to use the laptop, or if you want to use your iPhone or if you want to read a book. It left grease marks everywhere. I put it by my bed to use at bedtime but then I couldn't read my book or use my phone. Completely impractical. The actual cream works well as a hand cream - it did an excellent job of getting rid of the general roughness of hands and I was pleased with the results but I was put off by the difficulty of getting the product out of the tin in sufficient quantities to use and applying it onto my hands. I did find that keeping the tin in my pocket warmed it a little and it was a little (and I mean only a little) easier to apply. I am not sure I would buy this again because of the impracticalities but I was pleased with the results.

A little goes a long way with this wonderful balm

This is a great product! A fresh and herby, though slightly medicinal smell and a non greasy texture - but a little goes a long way. It is very useful on hard working, chapped hands (such as my other half's hands after a hard day in the garden) as well as chapped lips (although the taste/smell might put some people off) cracked heels (great with moisturising socks overnight), sun and wind burn.

It does need to be well rubbed in to avoid a feeling of a coating on your skin, so be careful when using on sunburn.

Price wise, is a bargain as it will last for absolutely ages due to the small amount you need to use each time. Like the 8 hour cream, it is one of those use for anything products.

I would highly recemmend getting youself a pot and stashing it in the cupboard - I guarantee you'll use it!
