Advantages: Many uses
Disadvantages: Can feel greasy
I purchased a large bottle at the wholesalers because my mum had raved about it so much, I just thought I needed a bottle. No real reason for it at the time of purchase but I just knew it was one thing every bathroom shelf needed.
I picked up the 200ml bottle for just £9 bargain looking at the prices I have seen it for everywhere else. It stayed on the shelf doing nothing for ages.
On my little finger I have a really sore patch of skin, it's bright red and the skin can go from flakey to feeling like someone is sticking pins in it. It's incredibly itchy but I have never seen the doctor as its only the size of a five pence piece.
On this particular day I was scratching it with the blade of my daughters scissors (yes it can drive me to madness when it's sore) and my husband said would that bio oil help that.
Well seen as it had been on my bathroom shelf for months I thought it was worth a try. I applied it about six times a day at the height as it relieved the itchiness and stopped the skin looking so red. Six times a day is not recommeded, on the bottle it says twice a day but I have never been one to follow instructions.
At first I found it a bit greasy which I didn't like but the fact it was greasy stopped me wanting to scratch the skin. After just three days the redness had died down and after a week the patch was looking almost like normal skin. It still felt rough to the touch but by looking at it you wouldn't have known there was a problem.
I have been using it for about three months and although the skin complaint hasn't gone it keeps it at bay. I sometimes forget to use it as the itching has almost stopped.
The bottle says it can be used on
uneven skin tone
and dehydrated skin
I had not realised until I read the bottle that it was suitable for dehydrated skin because I have only heard people saying it was great on scar tissue. And all the advertising I have seen just concerntrate on scars and stretch marks.
I am going to try it on my daughter as she has mild eczema, not bad enough to break the skin but the itching drives her mad. I feel happier trying this on her skin than all the creams and potions the doctor gives her.
Worth adding to the bathroom shelf like I did.
The Colour reminds me of the 1980's, my parents had that peach colour on the bathroom walls.
Summary: Great for dry skin
