Bio Oil 200ml
Advantages: The smell, the price, actually works.
My mum bought this Bio-oil for me a couple of years ago for stretch marks around my shoulders and hips. I honestly don't know why I've got stretch marks on my shoulders to be honest, but at one point they were quite visible so she bought this to try and help the problem. I can't remember how much this cost at the time, although the price can vary between different shops and good offers but I understand that its normally between £9 and £15. This seems like a really good price to me for a quality product which actually stands up to the claims made on the packaging and smells pretty nice to boot.
It comes in a tall and thin bottle which is clear and you can see the orange/peachy oil inside. I've found that I only needed to use a small amount of the oil rubbed into the marks did the trick and went quite a long way too. I also have an odd patch of darker pigment on my leg which the Bio-oil helped to make a lot less uneven. The oil itself is really moisturising as well and I reckon that if they put it in a body cream it would be the ideal product! It never felt greasy on my skin and once it rubbed in it felt no different to having a standard body cream and it never stained any of my clothes. The smell really is very nice and is a bit herbal, although it does have rosemary and lavender extracts in it :)
The way which I use it is to the rub a small amount directly onto the skin. I do this sort-of daily, when I remember to(!) and it works just fine. I swear I've also read that you can put a few drops of it in the bath water!
I'm not sure what the science behind this product is, all I know is that it works, doesn't cost the earth and smells nice as well!
Summary: Good for stretch marks and uneven skin tones.
