I do really like Biotherm products, they are expensive, but on the whole I do think that they are worth the money. There are a couple of ways to get the products a little bit cheaper; Boots do have the Biotherm products on 3 for 2 occasionally, and they also sell Biotherm products in a lot of duty free shops. I do normally wait and buy them either on 3 for 2 in Boots, or duty free when travelling.
One of my most recent Biotherm purchases was this Biocils Make Up Remover Gel for Sensitive Eyes. It costs £15.00 at full price, and you get a 125ml bottle.
This make up remover is suitable for contact lens wearers, and to be honest this coupled with the fact that it's for sensitive eyes were the main reasons that I bought this. I wear contact lenses all the time, and you are supposed to take your contact lenses out before you take your make up off, I don't do this because then I can't actually see what I'm doing! So I always leave my contact lenses in until I've taken my make up off to ensure that it is all removed and that I don't have panda eyes in the morning! I have had problems in the past with some make up removers that have stung my eyes and so the fact that this one is for sensitive eyes really appealed to me. I've had no problems at all with this make up remover, it doesn't sting my eyes even if I accidently get a small amount in my eye, and it's not damaged my contact lenses at all.
This is a gel formula make up remover, the gel itself is a transparent aqua blue colour, it feels really fresh and cooling on my eyes when I take my make up off. It actually really seems to soothe and help if I have tired eyes at the end of the day. To use this I squeeze a small amount onto a cotton pad, I then find it best to hold the gel filled cotton pad on my eye for a few seconds to 'dissolve' my make up and then just wipe it off. There's no need to rub or scrub at my eyes using the the make up remover this way i.e. holding it on to 'dissolve' my eye make up, and it works really quickly. It takes off all traces of my eye make up, including mascara and dark heavy liners or eyeshadows very easily. It doesn't take off waterproof mascara, but then again it doesn't claim to either.
It is really very gentle, it doesn't sting or irritate my eyes at all, it also doesn't dry my skin out, and it doesn't leave a film behind like some other make up removers can do. I do always use a wash off cleanser afterwards, but that's personal choice, it's not to get rid of any film or excess make up left behind by the eye make up remover.
This is very expensive for a make-up remover, especially as it is quite a small bottle - 125ml. However it does work very very well. I find that you do not need to use an awful lot of it to remove eye make up completely, unlike some cheaper brands whereby you end up using loads and loads to take your make up off - making them not so cheap after all as you are constantly having to replace them.
I will definitely buy this make up remover again, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
I tend to use only one make up remover to take the bulk of my make up off and use a cleanser to wash my face afterwards. I thought it was strange getting a separate eye make up remover however the brand is known to be of good quality giving great results although the price is expensive i was still happy to take a freebie to try,
Biotherm biocils soothing eye makeup removal gel costs £19.99 and can be purchased from Debenhams and John lewis stores. I always recommend asking for free samples before buying expensive products because if you don't like it , it would be a waste of money.
Biotherm biocils soothing eye makeup removal gel comes in a lovely blue plastic bottle with the silver Biotherm brand written on it, the bottle clearly states that its a eye make up remover. The bottle contains 125ml of gel. The lid of the bottle is white, when removed there is a pump action dispenser to dispense the gel.
The texture of the product is gel and is clear in colour, it has a strong perfume smell from it. It smells like fruity like passion fruit. The scent of the gel did put me of using it because i don't like strong scents especially on my skin as its sensitive.
To use the gel its best to use cotton wool balls to squirt the gel onto making it easier to apply to the eyes. One squirt from the pump is enough to remove the eye make up and you just gently start swiping the cotton ball with the gel over the eye. You should use one cotton ball for one eye and a new one for the other. As i wear both eye shadow, mascara and sometimes eye liner it can take a lot to remove. The gel is cold as it goes on but after a few swipes over the eye it does remove most of the eye shadow but this Biotherm gel does not remove the mascara easily and takes some going over with the gel before it is all removed.
The gel is soothing on my eyes to start with and feels somewhat relaxing but as i have to keep going over the one area it starts to irritate my skin.
You also have to avoid getting the gel into the eyes as it stings like mad and will need to be rinsed with cold water, i have done this a few times.
Biotherm biocils soothing eye makeup removal gel is meant to be cool, soothing, relaxing, hydrates the skin, this is just not worked for me at all. Instead my eyes were tender, irritated, burned and left me with dry skin around my eyes.
I personally don't like the Biotherm biocils soothing eye makeup removal gel and feel its very disappointing product for such a good brand. I recommend avoiding the Biotherm biocils soothing eye makeup removal gel.
