This is a great eye cream from Biotherm, like all of the Biotherm products the big drawback with this propduct is the price, I paid £26.99 for a 15ml jar and I have seen it retailing for £35 a jar in some department stores so it certainly pays to shop around before buying. The product is intended for use on the skin around your eyes, its aim is to reduce wrinkles and to firm up the skin around your eyes to prevent them forming. It is also very effective as removing darkness from around the eye as well. It works by stimulating the production of collagen in the skin to help it retain a healthy look. Like pretty much all of the Biotherm products it contains plankton. The jar itself is a very stylish purple colour with a screw top lid, the lid is a darker purple to the jar itself and the two tone effect is very appealing.
I tend to apply this cream at the end of the day to give it the whole of the night to work, I apply it to dry skin and before I mositurise the rest of my face. It absorbs easily into my skin and very quickly as well. The instructions say that it can be used twice a day however I have found that applying it in the evening is more than enough, only if my eyes are dark in the morning would I apply it then.
You only need to use a little at a time so despite the cost it does last for a long time, after all the area you are using it on is not big and that means you only need to use a small amount to get the whole area covered. The cream has a thick consistency and it absorbs easily, it has a slightly greasy feel to it but it did not leave my skin looking shiny at all. Cerationly the morning after my skin felt lovely and smooth and there was no darkness around my eyes, I see this as being preventive for me as I want to avoid the onset of any wrinkles for as long as possible.
It is very kind to my skin, it is meant to remove mositure and prevent puffyness and I certainly have not had any issues since I started using this cream. The only real negative for me is that I dod not like the smell of the cream, it is not pungent but there is nothing appealing about it.
Overall I would recommend it however I drop a star because of the cost and the smell.
The older i get the more tired i seem to look even and i would nothing more then to look fresh and young. Unfortunately that's easier said than done. You have products out there from different brands all promising great things but most brands fail. Biotherm is one of those brands that have products that should make you more fresh and look younger. One of these products is Biotherm Biofirm Lift Yeux.
Biotherm says that the product should give you eyes that look younger. It says it does so by firming the skin and preventing new wrinkles from around the eyes. For the wrinkles you already have it says it fills them and help to banish the dark circles and maintains the skin elasticity. The creme works but stimulating the production of the skins collagen improving to firm the skin and it helps with generating new skin cells. Also the product has thermal plankton which helps to stimulate and rejuvenate the skin. Further on it product contains caffeine to dehydrate the skin and prevents puffy eyes.
The jar only contains 15 ml for the price of 30 pounds which is quiet a lot but then again you don't need a lot. You only need a tiny amount which you dab onto the eye area. You dab the cream until it has been fully absorbed. You can use the cream twice a day in the morning and in the evening. The cream is very thich but it absorbs quickly into the skin. I feel that the cream hydrates the skin even only after using a little bit. It feels a bit greasy and at first shiny but only for a little while.
I can see the difference after using the cream. The skin feels soft after using it and it looks like it strengthens the skin. The whole tired look seems to dissapears and the eyes look less puffy. The only thing i don't really notice is that the wrinkles i already have don't seem to dissapears. Also i'm doubtful if it really prevents any wrinkles. It does moisturizes the skin which should help.
All in all i think this cream is great for making u look younger and more fresh but i doubt that it actually prevents wrinkles. Also i don't see much difference to the wrinkles i already have. I give this cream four stars.
As my eyes are one of the only things I like about my physical appearance, I do not mind splashing out on products that will keep the skin around them looking as young as possible for as long as possible. I have purchased a lot of products by Biotherm over the years and I am usually very impressed with the quality and the natural ingredients that they contain. When I saw the Biotherm Lift Yeux eye cream on offer in Italy recently, I had no choice but to snap it up.
What does it do?
The product promises to give you younger looking eyes by firming the skin which prevents new wrinkles from forming around the eye area. It also claims to fill in wrinkles that you may already have, making you look instantly more youthful. The product also gets to work on the eye contour and helps to banish dark circles and ensures that the skin maintains its elasticity.
How does it work?
The product contains what Biotherm refer to as Expansor Bio-Peptides. The ingredient is basically a protein which stimulates the skins production of collagen, meaning the skin will be firmer and plumped up making you appear more youthful. It also encourages the skin to generate healthy new skin cells and allows the skin to retain its elasticity by holding onto moisture. The formula also contains Bio Elastide which lifts and tones up sagging skin.
The cream contains Thermal Plankton which is a healing substance found in natural springs and this ingredient helps to stimulate and rejuvenate the skin. It encourages the skin to heal itself and restores it back to its former glory.
The formula also contains Caffeine and this is because of its ability to dehydrate the skin. The substance will draw out the water that leads to puffy eyes, making you look fresh and awake. It also encourages the circulation of blood so it will banish dark circles as well. And finally, it contains Ginkgo Biloba which increases blood circulation and tones the skin.
How do you use the product?
In order to use the product, you take a tiny amount from the jar and warm it between your fingers by running them together. It is to be used on the clean, dry skin and before you moisturise or use any make up. The cream is to be dabbed onto the entire eye area and you need to pay particular attention to the areas where wrinkles have already formed.
You dab the cream in until it has been fully absorbed ensuring that you don't drag or pull the delicate skin around the eye. You can use the cream twice daily so I use mine most mornings and sometimes just before bed.
Packaging and Price
The packaging of the product looks very cute and follows the pattern of many of Biotherm's facial cream. It has a curved deep purple lid that you twist in order to remove. The body of the jar is a curved glass that is a lighter purple than the lid. The whole packaging looks expensive and it is convenient as you can remove every last drop from the jar.
Biotherm's products don't come cheap and this is no exception. Although I was lucky to catch mine on offer, it will usually cost you around £30 for 15ml of the product. This is understandably a tiny amount but as you use it on such a small area, it should last you a fairly long time, even when you use the product daily. It can be bought from most large department stores and a variety of online websites so if you shop around and keep your eyes open for offers, you may find it for slightly cheaper.
As a moisturising cream, this product works well. It is very concentrated, thick and rich and you can feel it hydrating the skin thoroughly. Because of the consistency of the product, you only need to apply a tiny amount of the product in order to get the desired results.
When I first applied this cream to my skin, it worried me. I have very oily skin and avoid anything that will make me shine more than I already do. This product feels very greasy on initial contact with the skin and it also looks very shiny and oily on my face. However, when it is dabbed into the skin and once it has been completely absorbed, it actually disappears and goes matte which I was very happy about.
It leaves my skin feeling soft all day long and it feels very moisturised. I don't experience any tightness which I thought I might have as the ingredients are supposed to tone the skin. I couldn't feel anything happening and it felt like nothing other than a normal moisturiser. On the plus side, this also meant that I didn't feel any discomfort, stinging or irritation on the delicate skin and the product didn't cause any blemishes to form.
The cream lives up to its promise of reducing my puffy eyes in the morning and making me look more awake. This could have easily been due to the fact that in order to apply the product, you are tapping beneath the eye. This action alone can help to drain the liquid and reduce puffiness. Whatever the reason, my puffy eyes are banished. As for dark circles, the cream is artificially coloured so the darkness is reduced slightly. It doesn't make a huge difference though and there is no way I'll be binning my Touche Eclat just yet!
As for preventing wrinkles, I would say this would probably work but only because it makes sure that you are moisturising the eye area with a thick cream twice daily instead of skimming over it with your normal facial moisturiser. Maybe the special ingredients are working but I can't feel them working.
Luckily, I don't have many fine lines yet to comment on how well it covers up and remove wrinkles that you may already have. I looked closely at the fine lines at the outer corners of my eye and although this cream does seem to fill them in and banish them, they are back when I wash my face at night time so it's more of a temporary measure. I haven't noticed them becoming fainter so if they don't work on my fine lines, I wouldn't think you'd see results on wrinkles.
Although most products of this type actually include Collagen, this cream relies on the ingredients within it, to make the skin produce its own collagen. Maybe this lengthens the process of firming the skin and means that I will see results eventually but so far there's been none. The smell of this cream is not altogether pleasant and as it has been artificially added, you would think Biotherm would have chosen a fresher one. If you end up being a fan of this product, there is a version for the face and neck too.
All in all, this is great as a moisturising eye cream but I'm not sure about its ability to reverse the signs of aging. They do offer a money back guarantee if you are not happy with the results but I wouldn't say I am disappointed enough to do that. It leaves my skin soft, smooth without causing irritation. That said, if I did have lots of wrinkles, I would not have been satisfied with the product. With the cost in consideration, I'm sure you'll find better products out there for less and I'm just glad I didn't pay full price.
