“ Brand: Biotherm / Type: Face Mist / Skin type: for dry skin and for all types / Product line: Biotherm Biosource „
WHAT IS IT?
A cooling mist designed for use on the face by Biotherm. The mist is suitable for all skin types including sensitive and also has toning abilities.
A simple slim white can which looks good but a little basic, it's typical Biotherm where they put more thought into the product than the packaging.
IS IT ANY GOOD?
I am over eight months pregnant and am finding my face gets very hot at the moment, I had been using a less expensive cooling spray until a friend recommended this to me. It costs £14 for a 125ml can, but it's designed to give only a short burst of mist each time and even though I've been using it several times a day there still seems to be plenty inside when I shake the can.
It cools the skin on my face instantly and my skin feels tighter after use. You have to avoid your eyes but I find that if I close my eyes before spraying there is no stinging and my eyes don't water. It is such a fine mist that it won't smudge or interfere with your make up, the mist leaves your face feeling slightly damp but this disappears quickly. For a while after use my skin feels refreshed and cleaner, there's no limit to the amount of times you can use the mist and the effect is just as good on the 20th spray as it was on the first.
My skin isn't usually sensitive but during this pregnancy I've been reacting to products that have usually been kind to my skin, this mist is soothing when I am having a reaction and when my face is just feeling hot through my pregnancy hormones.
4 Dooyoo Stars.
It was my mother who gave me this cool down spray a couple of years back. We both suffer from "Prickly heat" which I think is hives caused by overheating. I also get very bad hives from being too cold and any extreme change in temperature brings me out in giants lumps all over my neck and arms, and stomach. So, I have to be so careful.
Biotherm is very expensive, and it's not something I could normally afford to buy, but since my mother bought it for me and it didn't cost me anything I was willing to give it a try.
I have very sensitive skin and it doesn't react badly to me
It does cool me down when I feel overheated.
Small enough to carry with me in my bag
It actually soothes my hives
Overpriced for what it is
Doesn't last that long if you use it everyday
For the price I would expect something more, something a bit special. I think it needs to be priced about half of what it used to cost. I can't even seem to buy the stuff any more anyway, even if I wanted to, and I finished up the bottle last year when I was stuck in hospital for 4 weeks.
Usually, I just buy the cool water spray from the pound shop, and that works in pretty much the same way. It isn't as soothing on the hives, but it is only £1 so you can't really complain.
All in all, this stuff is good, but not amazing.
~Cool and hydrate with Biotherm~
Having tried a good number of Biotherm products and found them to give quite variable results I am reviewing this rather over priced so called skin toner spritz type skin refreshing spray that goes by the name of Biosource Instant Cool Down Mist. I had the pleasure of using this product after being given it by a friend who was totally unimpressed with it after just 2 uses. After having used this product I feel that it can be of use although there are other cheaper ways to achieve similar cooling effects on the skin that offer very similar amounts of hydration in my opinion.
As someone who has bought and used many Biotherm products and found some of them to be far better value than others, I suppose I am not overly surprised that this simple facial cooling and toning spray is quite expensive to buy. At its high sales price I feel this is something that I would consider using in future only at a greatly reduced price as you only get 125mls of product for your money. It has been a while since I used this product and far as I am aware this spray is no longer on sale online via Biotherm, but can still be purchased from other sites for between £14 and £22 which I feel is extortionate for a product like this.
~Using the product~
What you get for your money is a simple spray can which has a minimal look and feel to it. I feel the product container and spray applicator are functional enough (if rather understated to look at), as I found it easy to spritz a little of this on to my skin to help cool and hydrate my face as and when needed. I only used a very small amount of the product each time and found it to be quite helpful at cooling and soothing my skin on very hot days for a short time after use.
You get a nice light and fine mist that comes from the product can with each spray and I found that just a light application was better for me, as too much of this tended to effect the finish of my make up. Too much of this sprayed on to a make up free face can leave your skin feeling a little sticky, but using a light touch does work well enough. As with other similar products that offer the same cooling effect on the skin you do sometimes tend to feel that you may as well be simply misting on a blend of mineral water and a light toner as thats what this feels like once on the skin. Less is more when using this in my opinion as if you spray on too much, you will be waiting forever for it to dry off.
I used to have this as something to keep in the car for those super hot days when you get back from the shops or a day out and feel hot and bothered. I found that a quick once over with this product can be of help at times such as these and this is where I see this type of product being most effective. A cheaper option that I have bought and used since having used this (and gone for instead of this product) is the Vichy Thermal Water Spray which you can pick up for around £7 for 150mls. I feel that the Vichy product offers far better value and offers very similar cooling and hydrating effects making it a much more affordable option in my opinion.
As far as rating this product goes I feel that I can only give this 3 stars as the high sales price is something that I feel outweighs the effectiveness of the product. At a lower sales price I may have rated this a little higher. I wouldn't say that I found this to be particularly good as a stand alone toner product, but when used to cool my facial skin down on a hot day it was of some benefit and this is where I see this product being used to best effect. For use when travelling by plane or car etc, when your skin really does benefit from a little extra hydration this can be something that works well. For anyone who wants a cheaper yet still effective product I would say that the Vichy Thermal Water Spray product is a good alternative to this that is much cheaper to buy.
For one of our holidays this year we went camping in the Vendee and one of the things I made sure I packed was a bottle of this Biotherm Instant Cool Down Mist as without the luxury of air con in a tent I knew that if it was sweltering hot I would need something to cool me down especially at night when trying to sleep. Fortunately we only really had two uncomfortably hot nights to contend with even though the weather was good for the entire holiday. This is not a cheap product, a bottle will set you back about £12 and the bottle itself is not very big.
On the plus side it is an excellent product that really does cool you down and it certainly helped me get a better nights sleep in the heat. I have also used this product when travelling around in London both on the tube and a taxi that was stuck in traffic. The packaging is a simple white coloyred can and a simple spray nozzle on the top
The spray delivers a fine mist and it really does work to cool you down and helps to reduce that flushed look that you can get when you are too hot, whether it is as much to do with the psychological effects of the spray or the active ingredients I'm not sure but it does leave with a wonderfully refreshing feel on my skin. i mainly use it on my face but also around the back of my neck and upper chest as well. It contains something called a thermal plankton which is what is meant to give it the cooling down effect. It is pretty much odourless with a barely detectable smell that soon dissipates
It certainly works to refresh my skin and to leave it with a more natural glow rather than a flushed, hassled look and I would certainly recommend it.
This product is designed for sensitive skins that can become flushed or react to various environmental factors (like heat, stress, pollution etc). It seemed perfect for me when I was looking for something to stop be flushing like a beetroot when I was running around at work in the summer. I bought mine from Boots and it was around £14 on special offer for the 125ml can. Now I know that sounds really expensive, but I think that it's worth every penny.
It comes in a lovely white can with a silver Biotherm logo on the front, I think it looks very sleek and smart. the product itself is sprayed from a nozzle, which you hold 20cm from your face. It comes out in a mist and doesn't make you wet. It doesn't smell of anything in particular, but feels very cooling and seems to reduce the redness on my face almost immediately. You don't need a lot so one can has lasted me all summer, but then again I just use it on my face when I'm having a moment. If you used it as directed morning and evening I suppose you would run out rather quickly.
All in all a must have for me at work in the summer!
Biotherm Biosource Biosensitive Instant Cool Down Mist is a product that is used for cooling down hot and irritated skin.
The packaging for biotherm biosource biosensitive cool down mist is very simple but nice and expensive looking. It is white with silver logos on it.
I have used this product for the last two years mostly whilst on holidays to cool down my skin and help with my bright red face whilst I must say it does instantly make my skin feel very cool and refreshed, the sensation doesn't last very long, maybe five minutes. Although the feeling doesn't last that long the redness in my skin does disappear for a lot longer.
It is very easy to use the spray you simply hold it at lease 15cm - 20cm away from your face and spray, it dispenses just the right amount on to your face so you don't feel soaking wet, you just get a lovely cool and refreshed feeling.
This cool down mist doesn't really have much of a smell to it to be honest but if I was to try a describe it I would just say that it is very subtle and fresh and it doesn't leave any hint of fragrance on your face.
When I use this product it leaves my skin feeling not only refreshed but also moisturised.
I usually use a Bodyshop spray to set my makeup/ cool down but received this off a friend after I complained to her about how hot and bothered I get travelling on the train to work, I find the Biotherm mist spray instantly helps to cool me down, destress and not look like a tomato!
As I didn't buy it, I don't know how much it actually costs but after doing a little bit of research, you can buy it off ebay or from Boots for about £14.00, which seems a little bit expensive initially.
However, it does come in a lovely looking and very expensive looking white bottle with the Biotherm logo on the front. You use the spray nozzle to dispatch the spray, I find it sprays just the right amount out. The bottle makes the product look like it costs double the price.
I personally just use this on my face but you can use it all over your body, which is great when you are sweltering on a rare hot sunny day. When you spray, it comes out in a mist so doesn't feel like you've got a water gun pointing at you. It's important to hold the bottle at least 20cm away from your face when you spray the mist, so it disperses and to keep your eyes shut. I immediately feel my face reacting to this and cooling down.
I would say that it doesn't really have a scent to it but it is quite fresh. It is also important to note that it is rich in minerals, which are good for your skin. I can really notice this, my face feels very moisturised, smooth and soft.
Biotherm recommend that you use this once in the morning and once in the evening but I just use it whenever I feel hot, I don't think it really makes any difference.
It might seem a little bit expensive but you only need to spray once, so the bottle lasts for ages and I only use it in the summer. Definitely worth its price tag.
Hello, im reviewing one of my fave beauty items Biotherm Instant Cool Down Mist. Im having a huge clear out of my beauty items and will be reviewing alot more soon.
I bought this product 12 months ago from Boots the chemist. It cost £14.00 special offer. I must tell you that i dont smoke or drink but my bad habit is spending money on over priced beauty products. This is only available in larger boots stores.
The reason i bought this product was it came recommended by a friend. I work very hard as a nurse and am always running around crazy. I dont sweat very often but i get a flushed face and was looking for a product to cool me down.
The bottle is a spray can with a nozzle and clear lid, the bottle is mainly white with silver logos and writing. Its a elegant looking bottle. Has ingredients listed on back of bottle. Not going to list it as its a bit boring.
I found this product very easy to use and effective. You simply take the lid off and spray towards your face holding the can at least 15cm away from your face. A fine mist then gently lands on your face. It then instantly starts to cool and sooth the skin. It is very refreshing and calming. The mist does not need rubbed in as it sinks into your skin instantly. This toner is designed for sensitive skin like mine.
I have found myself many uses for this, i use it after the gym, took on holiday helped to relieve sun burn, after hubby attacks me with his stubble and leaves a rash! Its so useful. I got it 12 months ago and use it daily and there is still a little left.
There is no harsh chemicals in this product, just natural ingredients which biotherm is famous for. The spray also helped my skin and left me with glowing radiant skin.
I give this 4 dooyou stars. I have took a star away because of the price.
I love those little bottles of cooling mists you can buy as they really come in handy on hot days. I travel alot on the London Underground so when it is the middle of a hot day and the carriages are packed tp the brim so that you feel like a sardine, you end up getting hot and flushed. I found the Biotherm Instant Cool Down Mist helps fight this.
You can purchase a 125ml bottle of Biotherm Instant Cool Down from eBay or you can purchase it from Boots for just over £14.00 like I did. It is not available on Biotherm's website as it is apparently a "store exclusive".
It comes in a nice expensive looking white spray type of bottle with the Biotherm logo on the front and what the product is. It is easy to spray with just a spray nozzle.
It is designed to cool down the skin when you are feeling hot and flushed. When your spray it, it comes out in a nice little mist rather than just shooting at you. You can spray it all over the body but it feels really nice on the face the most. I keep it in my handbag at the ready for when I have one of those days on the tube and I spray it on to my face as soon as I have got off at my stop and I immediately feel my face beginning to cool down and I feel better within a couple of minutes. When you do spray the spray make sure it is at least 20cm away from the face and keep your eyes closed.
The spray doesn't really have a scent to it. If this makes sense it smells fresh. Biotherm boast that the main ingredient in this product is pure thermal plankton. Thermal plankton is a mircoflora which lives in the thermal springs of mountains which makes it rich in minerals and makes it good for the skin.
Biotherm advises that you use this once in the morning and once in the evening but I have no hesitation in using it at any time of day when I get hot.
The product not only cools you down it is also very moisturising and makes my skin feel nice and smooth. My husband also comments that it makes my skin glow after use as well and coming from a man that really means something!
You don't have to use lots of spray in one go. One spray is more than enough and that really makes it last. I always keep my bottle in my handbag but I tend to only use it in the summer months.
Highly recommended and definately worth the money!
My mother in law recomended the biotherm range to me a few years ago and to be honest untill then i had never heard of it, we both buy our products from there web site online and the majority of the time there are free gifts from them if you spend around £50 which is very easy to do.
I spotted this product in particular about 12 months ago now wholst browsing there web site, it realy appealed to me at the time as i was heavily pregnnt and in the midst of the summer so found that i was very hot a lot of the time this isnt available on there web site so i brought mine from ebay.
This is a mist spray that is available in a 125 ml container it is designed to be sprayed directly onto the skin all over your face to give instant cooling, there are no nasty ingredients in this spray just pure thermal plankton so it is suitable to all skin types, you are directed to apply this morning and evening to your face to stop your skin from getting hot during the day, i must say i used this on my neck area too and it worked just as well.
This spray worked realy well for me and stopped my skin burning up during the day and me feeling realy flushed, this would be ideal for other women who are pregnant or suffering hormonal changes due to the menopause.
I paid £25 for my bottle of this which lasted around a month so i wouldnt recomnd it to just anyone as a cooling mist for general use but if like me you only need it for a short while it is well worth the price
Biotherm Face Care - Toners - Biosource Biosensitive - Instant Cool Down Mist
You can buy the 125ml spray can for £14 at boots chemists and from other online fragrance stores but you may pay a little exta depending on where you choose to buy it from.
It comes in a nice looking white can with the biotherm logo on the front.
The fragrance tones the skin so that when you spray a little onto your body it feels nice and refreshed,
This toner is designed to cool down the skin and for me at my age this is a great skin care product as i am going through the hot flush stage of my life and can keep this spray in my handbag for quickly cooling my face down when the dreaded hot flushes strike.
it works quickly and cools and soothes the symptoms of hormonal cycles. I personally wouldn't be without it and think it is worth every penny it costs.
It is created especially for sensative skin and can be used daily and often to help cool the skin if it's under attack from allergies, hormonal cycles, urban pollution or if you just get stressed it can cool the skin and help you feel a little more in control.
it has been aimed at women but i really can't think why a man couldn't use it too.
It is like having a light cool mist decend onto your face but you have to avoid the eyes and it cools the skin quickly and leaves it feeling taunt, refreshed and cleaner than before you used it.
it advises to use daily morning and night after using the cleanser but i use it during the day for if I have a hot flush and it works alright for me, you have to hold the can about 20cm away from the face with your eyes closed to apply, a little spray will do.
The ingredients are pure Thermal Plankton which is a type of microflora that lives in the sulphurous thermal springs of the mountains, rich in minerals.
Biotherm boast that pure extract of Thermal Plankton instantly soothes the skin.
A concentrated source of vitality and rejuvenation for the skin, it leaves skin feeling and looking soft, smooth and radiant. it really doesn't have a scent that I can discribe as it's not like anything I have used before, there's no flowery or fruity scent to speak of just a slight scent that I can't quite put a name to, but it doesn't smell once you have used the spray so doesn't linger on the skin.
I think Biotherm have come across something unique that really does what it says on the can.
You only need a small amount of the spray and it is good value for money as it will last a few months, it can be used everyday for a fresh feeling and is a toner that can easily be used as part of the daily beauty routine, although it seems a little expensive the results are worth the price.
I would give this a 10 out of 10 for quality, perfoemance and ease of use.
