*~*~*Looking After Our Skin*~*~*
Many brands offer cleansing routines for daily use. Skincare experts advise us to cleanse, tone and moisturise our skin to keep it healthy and clean. Cleansing the skin is the first step and this can be carried out my foaming washes, liquid soaps and also milks and lotions. This task is then followed by toning and moisturising the face.
The Biosource range from Biotherm, includes 8 products allowing you to have choice depending on your preferrance and skin type. You can choose from cleansers, toners, milks, gels etc and there are products specifically aimed at those with really sensitive skin.
*~*~*Clarifying Cleansing Milk*~*~*
This Cleansing Milk is from the Biosource range and claims to be suitable for normal/combination skin. One for super dry skin is also available. The purpose of this cleansing milk is to remove makeup and cleanse the skin. This allows the skin to be clean and fresh and prepared for the toning and moisturising part of the regime.
As with many products from Biotherm, the milk comes simply packaged in a curvy, plastic bottle. The bottle is a mint green colour and comes complete with white writing and a white, click on lid. The larger size of the milk comes with a pump dispenser for easy usage.
Using this milk is very easy and hassle free. You can apply using your fingertips or a cotton wool ball and directly on a dry face. Once applied, rinse with some lukewarm water or go straight onto using your toner.

I have been paying more attention to my face over the past few months and like to ensure it is hydrated and cleansed. Before this, I only ever applied my day cream and night cream and used facial wipes.Just before Christmas, I purchased a huge lot of Biotherm samples from ebay and have been using some myself. I reviewed a toner that I had in the full size version but I have been using the Clarifying Cleansing Milk and the Clarifying Lotion for the past 2weeks and decided to review them.
I have used a cleansing milk before and I quite liked it so I hoped that the Biotherm one would be just as good if not better as it is certainly more expensive. I have noticed a dramatic improvement in dryness on my face and felt confident using the normal/combination milk as opposed to the one for dry skin. The bottle is nothing special and is easy to hold whilst dispensing the milk but the pump dispenser on the 400ml bottle would come in handy.
*~*~*Lets Get Cleansing*~*~*
My preferrence is to apply this cleansing milk using a cotton wool ball. The milk itself is thicker than I expected and is a vibrant white shade. The scent omitting from the bottle is inoffensive as it is a delicate, creamy sweet scent with a hint of soapiness about it. A gentle squeeze is needed to dispense a small blob of milk onto my cotton wool and with my hair swept back in a hair grip, I apply it to my face.
The milk despite its thickness, soaks into the cotton wool very quickly so I only apply a small amount and then take it from there. I have applied this in the morning and at night so can discuss both aspects as my skin is in different levels of dirtiness each time! Applying in the morning to complete bare skin is pleasant. The milk is ultra cooling on my skin and gives me an instant wake up! I tend to start off with my forehead and work my way down my face.
The milk transfers to my skin with very little provoking and offers a gentle, tingly feeling to let me know it is going deep into my skin. It feels creamy and luxurious against my skin. Although it doesn't foam or lather up, it does actually feel like it cleansing my skin gently but sufficiently. The scent lingers around but doesn't make my eyes water or sting, it is just gentle enough to know you have used something.
I didn't expect to have to rinse this off with anything as it soaks so far into my skin that nothing is left on the surface of my skin except a soft and smooth texute. My skin feels clean and fresh after use. I normally need 3 or 4 cotton balls with small blobs for full facial coverage. If I use this at night to remove any make up (face powder and blush - never my eye makeup), I find it works incredibly well. My makeup by this time, has usually gone patchy and ready to be removed and the cleansing milk sweeps it off with little effort. The evidence is really on the cotton ball which usually ends up orangey due to my powder.
I follow up with the Clarifying Lotion which is also suited to normal/combination skin. I will just put a little about this product as I will review it seperately though I feel neccessary to put how the matching products interact with each other. Whilst I could see any surface dirt rising and imbedding itself onto the cotton balls, the toner really brings it all up to the surface. It tingles slightly as I apply it but refreshes further than the cleansing milk alone. I follow with my No7 day or night cream and my skin remains soft and feels clean and healthy due to the 3 products.
I have thoroughly enjoyed using this Cleansing Milk from Biotherm as it leaves my skin clean and fresh for the day ahead or healthy for going to bed. It did work well alone and didn't leave my skin tacky or in need of rinsing off but I have mainly followed with the toner just for reassurance and excellent results. Only a small amount is needed to full cleanse my face and taking this into consideration, I would be happy to purchase a full size bottle if I can find it reduced as it is well worth the money.
I fully recommend this cleansing milk to you all and the Biotherm range in general. Thanks for reading x
