==Bio source Foaming Cleansing Gel==
I got treated to a good few lovely items on my birthday back in March and I am still happily ploughing my way through the majority of them. One such nice present was a little hamper of a lot of Biotherm goodies. This Foaming Cleansing Gel was in this hamper and I must say I really do like and am using it very sparingly because I really don't want the bottle to run out or come to an end.
The tube itself is a regular sort of size for this type of product and it holds 150ml of the cleanser. It has a good bottle design which stands on its lid meaning that all the product runs to the lid and is easily dispensed. The look of the bottle is quite nice and I love the aqua marine colours as it is light yet refreshing.
The price of this bottle of cleanser is £15.50p on the Biotherm website but it can be bought cheaper when looking around. This price is quite high and its probably not a product i would purchase myself on a regular basis but for a gift for someone or a special treat for oneself I find the price not bad for the product you are getting.
The cleanser is just like any other to use and the idea is to use it like a soap and to wet the face first with warm fresh water and then get a small amount of the cleanser onto your hand and work the product into your skin. This will cause it to lather up ever so slightly with the gentle circular motions that are to be used. The product then needs carefully rinsing off, all the while avoiding contact with the eyes.
The claims of this product as opposed to other similar cleansers is that this Biotherm one is enriched with added zinc, a product that allows the skin to be effectively cleaned well without aggravating it. With use every morning it will leave the skin feeling clean, fresh and invigorated.
I must say that I have been using this product rather sporadically with a few weeks of every day morning use then I will go on to using one of my other many bottles of cleansers. However the weeks that I do use this product I know that my skin is left feeling very clean and very fresh and as invigorated as possible on an early weekday morning. I don't think that there was any real noticeable improvement in the texture or general look of my skin but it feels really nice using this product as it seems a little bit luxurious. However I do have to be careful that the gel doesn't slide off my hands before it gets to my face as the gel type of product that this is tends to be a little slippery.
There also isn't much foam produced even when giving the face a wet wash but I can't say I mind this too much as too many bubbles usually means I end up getting some in my eyes or up my nose! The smell is not too strong but just enough to give you a fresh and slightly spa like aroma which is really very appealing indeed.
I think that this product on the whole is pretty good. You have to be careful with it as it doesn't stretch that far but I really enjoy using it and like the clean affect my skin is left with. Its possibly not the best ever cleanser I have used but then it did feel like generally a top end product and something a little special. I will definitely be buying it again or at the very least be putting it on my Christmas list!
I think it is worthy of a good score of 4 out of 5 stars and I would recommend that anyone give it a try!
I do hope that this has been of some help/interest to you
Many thanks for taking the time to read.
I have used Biotherm Biosource Foaming Cleansing Gel on a number of occasions, although it is not a product that I am completely loyal to. It is worth hunting around to find the cheapest price because it is a product that is often on offer, but the most recent price I paid was £15.50 from House of Fraser (www.houseoffraser.co.uk). This price is obviously not the cheapest for a cleansing gel, but Biotherm is a really good brand and I think you do get what you pay for.
The Biotherm Biosource Foaming Cleansing Gel comes in a tube which contains 150 ml of the gel. The tube is not transparent and so it's not possible to see how much of the gel is left in the tube and I would prefer it if I was able to see it, but the fact that I can't isn't the end of the world! The gel itself is a cool clear pale blue colour and it has a nice fragrance to it which is hard to describe because it's quite nondescript. It is a fresh fragrance that smells clean and refreshing and I actually like the fact that it is not heavily fragranced.
Using it is simple. I tend to squirt a little bit of the gel into my hand and then mix in a little bit of water so that it lathers up. It lathers up really well and so actually a little of the gel goes a long way. Generally about a teaspoon full is all that it needed to wash my face and my neck - and so a 150 ml bottle will last me about a month. The lather is actually quite light and airy and so when it is applied to my skin it doesn't feel heavy or cakey (which I have found with some other cleansing gels in the past).
After applying the gel and massaging it into my skin, it is just a matter of then rinsing it off. Like all cleansing gels I have used, I generally don't like the feel of my skin once the cleanser is rinsed. I feel that it leaves my skin feeling quite tight and dry and this seems to be the case with every product I have used. However, as soon as I tone and moisturise my skin, it feels really good and it does leave my skin feeling clean and oil free.
Overall, I do like the Biotherm Biosource Foaming Cleansing Gel and I will continue to use it.
The Biotherm Biosource Foaming Cleansing Gel is a great cleanser that comes in a 150ml tube which is a lovely green - blue colour with a white flip up lid that the tube sits on.
I normally buy my Biotherm Biosource Foaming Cleansing Gel from Boots for around £15 which although it isn't cheap it also isn't massively high in price and I don't mind paying a little bit more for products in the biotherm range because I do find that their products have always lived up to what they claim they can do and have never let me down.
My skin does has a tendency to be dry on my forehead, slightly oily around my nose and also a little bit sensitive especially in the cold winter months, I use the cleansing gel every day and find that it always leaves my skin very clean and soft, which with combination skin like mine I have found other cheaper brands of cleansers have found difficult.
The gel is squeezed out of the tube with ease and is clear in colour. I do find I need to use a fair amount to get the cleanser to lather up in the way I like it to but when I apply it to my face it gives me a lovely refreshing feeling and after I rinse it off with warm water my face feels very fresh, clean and oil free. There isn't much of a smell to this product just a very subtle and clean aroma that is similar to the rest of the biotherm range that I have tried.
I have used a number of Biotherm products in the past and one of my favourite cleansers has to be the Biotherm Biosource Foaming Cleansing Gel. The Cleansing Gel can be bought from the usual suspects like Superdrug and Boots and costs around £15 for the 150ml tube. The price is a little steep, but for such an effective cleanser I think it is worth the expense.
I often have greasy skin, but it is also quite sensitive so I don't want to use something that is too harsh. The Biotherm Biosource Foaming Cleansing Gel is gentle enough on my skin as not to give me a reaction, but is also strong enough to clear my skin of greasy deposits and therefore aiding the prevention of acne.
The gel is light blue in colour and is quite thick. I simply put a small amount on my hand and use warm water to create a lather. The lather is very rich and it is easy to apply to my face before rinsing off. The 150ml tube goes a long way as I don't need to use a large amount of product for each use. The back of the tube says this cleanser contains Thermal Plankton which is said to rejuvinate skin to its natural healthy state.
I would say the Biotherm Biosource Foaming Cleansing Gel has given me better results than other cleansers I have tried, but I feel obliged to mark it down one star for price. The results are hard to fault, as I find my skin refreshed and much cleaner to the touch. Removing grease and impurities from my skin gives me confidence that fewer spots will form on my skin.
When i was younger I had a real problem with acne, I went to skin doctors bought treatments at chemists, tried loads of stuff on the market but to no avail, then someone suggested biotherm and I decided to give it ago. I'm glad I did, I bought the old version of the cleansing gel and after about a week started to see the difference. Less spots, clearer and healthier looking skin. now biotherm is one of those makes that isn't sky high pricey like sisleys, chanel, etc, neither is it lower price loreal, etc. It's basically not too expensive but neither is it cheap. I have no idea if maybe higher priced products would have worked better for my skin, but I consider this product good quality for the price you pay and definitely does most or all of what it states on the package. Now I've past the teen years my face is much much better, i recommend this product for anyone with spot problems and a word of advice: wash your face twice daily, use a toner and moisturise and you will see the results in a short period of time.
When looking at my best friend with her soft skin with tiny pores I sometimes have the urge to strangle her. Since puberty I was fighting against my combination skin, dry patches and spots without much success. The spot problem stopped after a while but my skin was always what you would describe as sensitive and problematic.
My mum works for Douglas and therefore has access to beauty products that I could never afford while still being at university. Being a professional beautician she suggested Biotherm and declared war on my spots and uneven skin. Although she never found a wonder cure for my big pores she certainly was on the right way when giving me some Biotherm products last Christmas. Using these products for around 6 months made my skin look healthier and more beautiful than ever before.

Let me just say a few quick words to describe you my skin type before I start telling you about my experience with this cleansing gel. When describing any type of skin care it is always important to mention this as it makes the results much easier comparable; the gel will have a different effect on dry as on oily skin and therefore please only take my review into consideration when you, like me, have combination skin. Combination skin basically means that I am blessed with oily as well as dry patches with the rest of my skin being somewhere in between.
Having somewhat complicated skin I have tried quite a few different methods of cleaning, be it cleansing foams, creams and peelings. Most left my skin feeling to dry, others didn´t clean well enough and I had to rely on products like toner and some even caused me to get loads of spots. Being in the lucky position to have a mother that works for Douglas I could always chose from a wide range of beauty products - even those that would normally be far too expensive for me. Last year Christmas she got me the Biotherm Cleansing Gel, the Toner and Cleansing Water. All in all this would cost around 50 pounds when buying in a shop so understandably I was very pleased with my Christmas present.
The 150 ml tube looks just like you would imagine a cleansing product to look like - something about the blue/green colour makes it look very refreshing. The gel itself is almost transparent and not as runny as I would expect it to. I found that a blob the size of a 20p coin is more than enough which makes the Biotherm gel a good investment as it will last for ages. The best thing about the gel is that it does not have a strong fragrance - the light and fresh scent is much better than a strong and artificial fragrance many other cleaning lotions have. My skin doesn´t feel clean enough after using perfumed lotions and a neutral scent is one of the most important things for me when buying any kind of beauty product.
The gel lathers up nicely and creates a very fine foam on your skin. The foam itself was surprisingly firm and not bubbly as you would get it with soap. Only a little water was needed and a small blob was more than enough to cover my face. Massaging it in is easy enough and the gel does not burn much when it came into contact with my eye. This prompted me to use it instead of make-up remover for my eye make-up. Unfortunately it seems to have its problems with certain mascaras (usually the water proof ones) but apart from that it was a great substitute. However, I have to admit that I don´t normally use foundation and powder so cannot comment on how good it would remove those.
The cleansing effect is actually surprisingly good, my skin feels very refreshed and "lighter" if that makes any sense. Using some cleansing water proved to me just how clean my skin was - the cotton ball stayed clean. This actually caused me some concern as I thought that my skin might be a bit too dry now; however it felt absolutely fine and very soft. I cannot tell you if the massaging or the gel caused this but I always get the impression that my blood circulation is improved afterwards which gives my skin this extra refreshed look.
All in all I am very pleased with this cleaning foam and will continue using it. My skin tends to be rather spotty from time to time so therefore I was very happy to notice that, since using the gel, my skin does not only look fresher but I am also less likely to wake up in the morning with a face covered in spots and black-heads. It is very hard for any skin care product to find a balance between too oily and too dry but the Biotherm product found the perfect state in between those two extremes.
- - - - - - - Would I buy the Biotherm Biosource Foaming Cleansing Gel again? - - - - -
Well, technically I did not buy the Biotherm Cleansing Gel at all and for 15 pounds a bottle I will certainly not ever buy it myself. Please don´t get me wrong here; this is a great product and surely worth its price but it is simply far too pricy for a student´s wallet. I am very lucky to have a mum that works at Douglas and therefore I will gladly continue using Biotherm products as I am convinced by their quality ingredients and positive effect on my skin.
Having very sensitive skin I am used to spending a lot of time cleaning, toning and applying moisturisers - more than often the products I tried were no good and I had to look for another brand and start my search for the perfect skin care all over again. Now, I don´t want to say that this cleansing lotion is the best thing I have ever tried but it certainly very high on my list and will - again - end up on my wish list for Christmas.
I can highly recommend the Biotherm Biosource Foaming Cleansing Gel for everyone with not too dry skin. As I already mentioned above I have combination skin and the gel seems to be absolutely perfect to clean my skin but at the same time leave it moisturized enough to prevent drying out. I guess that if you have very dry skin you should better use a product designed for your skin type - I know that there are a few in the Biotherm range as my mother tends to use those products.
Due to my positive experience I would award this product 08 out of 10 possible points. The two other points were deducted due to the high price. 15 pounds for 150ml just seems too much and is unfortunately far too expensive to justify as a regular purchase when living on a rather tight budget.

Thank you for reading and rating my review!

I had totally forgotten until a few weeks ago that I even owned anything from this range - until I found a gift set in my bathroom that had been gathering dust there since April! You'll be happy to know that since I found this set Ive been using the products in it ever since and been really impressed by most of them so I'm going to start reviewing them for you over the next few days starting with this "Biotherm Biosource Foaming Cleansing Gel" which I got a small 50ml tube of contained in the set. I'm always really wary of trying out new products for my face especially face washes because Ive had some really bad reactions to them in the past but as this one came from a really well known and expensive brand I thought Id give it a go anyway.
Price: Around £14
Stockists: Amazon, Debenhams, House Of Fraser & I Think Boots.
For: This is a refreshing, foamy face wash that removes impurities and all traces of make-up. Helping to provide a crystal clear and super soft complexion - made for normal or combination skin.
This comes in a quite large mint green squeeze tube which you guessed it simply needs squeezing slightly to produce the gel. Don't squeeze it too hard though because you don't need too much of this at any one time and if your too heavy handed with the tube a lot will come out. The gel itself is actually more or less clear in colour and has the same consistency as hair gel in my opinion so it is a bit sticky at first but that has never bothered my skin at all so I wouldn't worry.
You use it same as you would any face wash - simply lather it up on your face with warm water, rub around in circles & then rise off with warm water - this one doesn't say you should apply lotion afterwards but I highly recommend doing so as it just helps your face to be even softer and smoother after applying this.
Ive read a few reviews on this in which people have said they really like the smell but to be honest I didn't think this had much of a fragrance to it at all. You could smell that slightly chemical odour but it was masked with that lovely fresh, clean scent face washes tend to have so it wont annoy your nose at all and the scent doesn't stay on your face for very long anyway. The smell is okay but nothing to write home about in my opinion. Also this doesn't foam as much as I would have liked it to. It does go very creamy and feels dead luxurious on your skin but I would say it foamed very much at all - not as much as my usual No7 face wash anyway!
Now on one of the claims it really works and on another it docent so Ill start of by being nice. This does clean my skin very well in general. My face always looks and feels much better after I have used this so I guess it does deliver on getting rid of impurities and things like that because my skin is always glowing after Ive used this and stays that way for a good few days afterwards so I do like using it for that purpose. For taking off make-up though it is actually useless. I might wear too much or something but when Ive tried to use this as a make-up remover it has never worked at all - it just smudges everything around rather than actually removing it and that renders it ineffective in my opinion so I am going to knock off a star for that and knock off one because it didnt foam up as much as Id like.
So 3 out of 5 overall which is quite good but I think Ill be sticking to my No7 face wash/cleanser after Ive finished this one - it does the job so much better!
Thanks For Reading

One of my favourite cleansers is this Biotherm Biosource Foaming Cleansing Gel and you can buy it from Boots chemist for £15 a tube which is a 150ml tube.
it may seem a lot to pay for a cleanser but this is a product that once you have used you will want to buy it again as it really works well at getting the skin cleansed and in good looking condition.
I have combination skin which in some parts of my face is greasy whilst other parts are dry and I have very sensative skin so really have to watch what I put on my face otherwise I am prone to coming out in a red rash, which takes ages to get rid of.
This Biotherm Biosource Foaming Cleansing Gel is very gentle on my skin and so far I have not had an allergic reaction or been irritated by using the product.
What you get for your money is a nice light blue tube of clear gel which is a nice thick consistancy and applied lightly over the skin will cleanse and leave the skin feeling fresh and clean, not at all greasy or dry.
The ingredient is thermal plankton which is used in all the Biotherm products and this has healing properties which invigorate, cleanse and help clear the mind and refresh the skin.
I like the unique quality and ingredients of the Biotherm products as so far I have not come across any other beauty product that uses thermal plankton so it's quite novel and really makes a difference to the condition of the skin.
The gel once applied lathers up a little like soap but it more creamy not bubbly and it can be rubbed into the skin gently before rinsing off to see the difference it makes to the feel of the skin.
If you use this product first to cleanse the skin then use the Biotherm toner they really compliment each other and the condition of the skin feels soft and supple.
On it's own I found it to be a good cleanser but you really have to rub it in and get it creamy, massaging it into the skin for it to work well. You need about a good pea sized blob of the gel to begin with and add a little more once it has been applied.
Value for money wise you need a big tube to be able to apply it liberally.
If your looking for a good cleanser then this one is a good brand to think about, although it's not a make-up remover it is good for cleansing the skin before you go to bed using it after washing your face and before you put your night cream on.
I like the Biotherm products and even though they are expensive they are a good quality product that really do help to imrove the condition of the skin and for me with my combination sensative skin, this cleanser is a winner.
For Xmas I bought my mum a set of Biotherm products from Debenhams and with it I got a free gift set of sample sized goodies in a GORGEOUS gold cluch bag. I was mega chuffed with the free gift because there was 5 products in there and they were all 50ml.... this Cleanser Foaming Gel is £13.50 for a 150ml tube so I reckon there were a few quids worth of luxury toiletries in the gift set!
I LOVE this cleansing gel, it feels gorgeous to use and is proper kind to my skin. It's very hydrating and the gel is lovely to use in the summer when my face needs cooling, it's a thick gel and unfortuntely you do have to use quite a lot each time you wash your face but I think the effects are brill.
You can feel the cleansing action of the gel and even though you don't get the thick lather you are probably expecting for the price, the bubbles do feel luxurious on your skin. As you rub the cleanser into your skin you'll feel it turning creamy, the gel texture disappears and this is when the cleanser feels best I think. It's a bit hard to rinse it all off and I reckon I'm rinsing for about 1 minute longer than with the other cleansing gels I use, that's because of the thick texture of it when it's still a gel.... it feels like it's kind of putting a coating on my skin and it's that I struggle to rinse off. Sometimes I'll be sat down after having a wash and suddenly I'll feel a patch of skin that still feels a bit sticky like it hasn't been rinsed properly.
When I've got it all off though I'm always mega pleased with the look and condition of my skin, I always look a bit pink for a few minutes after I've used this cleansing gel but that disappears quick and isn't noticeable through foundation so you haven't got to worry about looking weird if you go out as soon as you've cleansed! I've used exfoliators that have put me under house arrest because of how red they left my face, this bit of pinkness is NOTHING!
I love the smell of the cleanser too, most of my facial cleansers have got strong smells and are usually fruity but this one just smells..... fresh. It's lovely and definately not the sort of smell that is going to get in your face and start messing about with your perfume. It's not quite fragrance free but it's not a product that you are going to say is too strongly scented, actually people who like smells to their skin care stuff might think this is a bit boring.... I do like a bit of a smell and that's why I swap and change between my cleansers because even though the fresh smell of this one is nice, it's not the sort of thing I'd want to use every day forever!
I like the moisturising effect of this cleanser and was surprised about it actually because gel cleansers usually make my skin feel a bit dry. My skin isn't particularly ANYTHING but I always notice how soft it feels after using Biotherm products in general including this one. My mum DOES get dry skin and that was the reason for buying her the Biotherm Xmas present in the first place, she hasn't used this cleanser but I don't actually think it would be as moisturising as she would like it to be. Like I said, my skin isn't dry and the cleanser just about makes it feel a bit different... I'm not sure it would be all that effective on mega dry skin because of how gentle it is.
Even though I like this Foaming Cleansing Gel I can't see me buying the full sized version, it's lovely to use but doesn't really do anything a cleanser for half the price wouldn't do. The packaging has changed now and it looks a lot more classic, the tube is white with silver writing instead of that Avon looking blue tube. I know mine was a sample but I've checked the current design for the full sized version and that too has the stylish white and silver design. I'd LOVE to get another freebie like this from a brand I wouldn't have even looked at otherwise, I don't think my budget will stretch as far as Biotherm for every wash but reckon a couple of the products in my gift set were worth splashing out on.
This is worth the money, it's not that I'm moaning about the cost. If it works wonders for your skin like I know it does for some people then £13.50 is peanuts, for me with my normal skin though I can buy 2 or 3 excellent cleansers for that price so it definately doesn't work out economical enough.
Recommended though.... for people with drier skin and more free cash than me!!!
Like I have mentioned in my other Biotherm reviews I bought this in a combined set of cleansing gel, toner and cream. My other reviews can be found on dooyoo and they review the Aquasource non stop range for normal combination skin.
About Bioterm Biosource cleansing gel.
The core ingredient of the biotherm range is thermal plankton which is found in thermal spring water. This unique ingredient is said to increase the skins moisture levels and hydrate your skin like no other product can. Well we all know that water is good for your skin, so this doesn't sound so bad.
The gel is in a tube with a flip cap which it also stands on. The smell is like the other products in this range, fresh with a scent that reminds you of the ocean. The texture is gel like, as the name implies. It does however, vary in fluidity according to the temperature of its surroundings. My bathroom is very cold in the morning and so when I apply it, it is a thick gel, however if I turn the blow heater on, like I did one evening the gel was runny almost like a liquid.
To apply this gel I first rinse my face and then squeeze a small amount in my hands, I find that this gel doesn't foam up very much and a little doesn't go a long way. It isn't the best face wash I have used and doesn't remove makeup so well. Instead of a soapy face wash it is more like a creamy face wash and therefore doesn't spread over your face as easily.
The 50ml bottle I bought in the set, did not last a long time. It did however feel very skin friendly and didn't cause my skin to break out in a rash like the toner and cream did in the beginning. I did notice a difference to my skin, it felt softer and I no longer get dry patches between my eyebrows but my pores also seem to be more dilated. However, since I used this gel in combination with the toner and cream it is hard to say what role it really played.
Price and value for money
I paid 40 euros (40 pounds) for the set, the cream was 50ml, the foaming cleansing gel was 50ml and the toner was 125ml. They usually sell this product in a 150ml bottle which costs about 20 euros (20 pounds, but more like 15 in the UK). Because you have to use quite a bit to really get a lather I wouldn't say this product is the best value for price. I also like other facial washes better, even much cheaper ones, that gave me the same effect namely a feeling of clean skin without harsh dryness that soap can cause.
While I wouldn't buy the toner again I would perhaps not be so harsh on the cleansing gel. Personally the range doesn't seem to be quite what my skin type needs as the toner and cream did cause some initial irritation, but if the cream suits you then the gel isn't so bad if you can afford the price. It has a pleasant smell that goes well with the cream, and doesn't dry out your skin.
Three stars for skin friendliness and smell as well as the proposed attributes of thermal plankton, two minus stars for price and the fact that you have to use a bit to work up a proper lather.
