I got a sample of this overnight skin treatment and really wanted to like it. I knew the Biotherma brand to be excellent (and rather expensive) so I chose an early night to apply the sample I had been hoarding of this skin cream.
I loved the flashy silver packaging and the purple accent colours. I thought the consistency of the cream felt good but then the fragrance of the product let it down a little bit. It had a bit of a herby smell to it which probably reflects the contents but I was not so keen.
what does it do?
Biotherm Skin Ergetic Overnight High-Recovery Moisturiser is an anti fatigue night time moisturiser with a fresh and fluid texture. It is formulated with five tea and seed fractions. Helps purify skin and diminish the dirt created by free radicals on skin surface.
I used a small amount to cover my face and neck at bed time. I was feeling a bit stingy and sensitive due to an eyebrow threading session earlier in the day so I was a bit cautious about using it but it felt OK.
My skin did feel nice and soft after using this product but I was not keen on how it smelt. I think it is quite expensive for a night cream but it did a lovely moisturising job on my skin.
£45 for 50 ml on the lavish choice website.
I won't be rushing out to buy this because it seems to be quite hard to source in the UK but where it is available it is rather expensive. I thought the sample was OK bar its fragrance.
==Biotherm Skin Ergetic Anti-Fatigue Night Cream==
My little hamper of Biotherm goodies was greatly received on my birthday back in March and I am slowly but surely making my way through all of them trying to be as sparring as I can as I know how expensive these products are. The Biotherm brand is not something that I would purchase for myself because of the price and to receive this hamper was such a lovely surprise although it has made me want to top it up myself I am going to hold out for getting a few of the items I have used up replaced at Christmas.
This Biotherm Skin Ergetic Night Cream was actually one of the first products from my little hamper that I did actually use up. The reason for this is that I was so pleased with it I made sure I used it every night and didn't steer away from it by using any other night cream. This of course meant that it was soon to run out even though Iw as super sparing with it and made a little go a long way as opposed to what I usually do with my cheaper night creams and thickly lace my face with them!
This pot of 50ml of the night cream will generally set you back around the £30 price range which is quite expensive for me and probably around double the price of what I would normally pay for a cream such as this. However you can probably get it a little cheaper were you to hunt around online.
The reason this product is expensive is because Biotherm is a high end company who try to use only natural ingredients in their products and this night cream for example has a high 97.5% of its ingredients which are natural. There are no added colorants or fragrances and the cream is suitable for those with sensitive skin.
The look and design of the product packaging is really quite nice although nothing majorly special in my mind. The purple pot that the cream comes in, is more than adequate to do the job but I can't say that it looks as expensive as it is and I would probably like it better if it looked a little more luxurious. The shape of the glass pot is really quite nice and makes for the lid to be removed easily and the cream to be used without too much faffing about.
The product inside the packaging looks just as you would expect a night cream to appear and is a thick cream which has an off white colour to it. There is not any real fragrance from the cream although it does have a light fresh aroma which I can't say is like an actual fragrance but it smells appealing nonetheless. The cream, being a night cream is thicker than the Biotherm day cream and this means that a little of the cream does go a long way and as I was using sparingly I needed only to dip one finger in to get the desired amount to sufficiently coat my entire face in light amount of the product.
The cream glided on easily and as I can sometimes be prone to areas of sensitivity on my face I wasn't sure if this would do as the product suggests and be kind to sensitive skin. However I found the cream to be light and gentle on these areas and in the morning there was no redness only lovely soft skin which seemed to take on a really refreshed tone. This was one cream I have used that really did seem to have a noticeable affect on the tone of the face the next morning.
The cream is said to have 5 tea and seed extract contained within the ingredients and I am not entirely sure what these are but I must say they do seem to work wonders on my skin. The fact that the product claims to give more radiant skin and give a more rested and smoother look to the face was something I really wasn't holding out too much hope for but believe it or not that is exactly what I found after using this product. Not only did it feel nice on application but the after affects were faultless too. After several weeks of using it I seem to have a few less fine lines around the corners of my eyes too which I am sure must be down to this particular cream.
All in all I think I really couldn't rate this highly enough and for that reason I have added it to the top of my Christmas list for this year. I really enjoy using the cream as it does feel very luxurious even if I don't believe the packaging of it does it justice. But none of this matters when I think of the results that this product seems to give me and for that reason I really can't fault it. My skin certainly looked more radiant and like I had had a much better nights sleep than I ever did! I think it is a well deserving top scoring product getting 5 out of 5 stars from me!
I do hope that this has been of some help/interest to you
Many thanks for taking the time to read.
Biotherm products are not cheap and this night cream is no exception as it costs £30.00 online at Debenhams however it is a good product and just about justifies the mid range price tag. You can use this product on a daily basis but I have tended to apply it about three times a week and after three weeks of use I'm rather pleased with the results. I apply it last thing at night after removing all the debris of the days activities from my skin and cleansing and toneing my skin so it is nice and clean.
The cream has a subtle sort of fruity smell to it which does not linger very long but it is nice enough as I apply it to my skin. It is a non greasy cream that blends into my skin quickly and does not leave my skin feeling either greasy or damp and as it absorbs nice and quickly I can hop straight into bed after applying it.
My skin is nice and smooth after application and when I wake up it still has a nice healthy glow and is well moisturised as well. It uses a blend of tea oils and mineral water in it and the vast majority of the ingredients are natural ones however it is not 100% made from natural products. It is certainly very kind to my skin and leaves it nice and healthy looking. The cream is well suited to my mostly normal skin tone and there has been no irritable reaction to it at all. It has a nice soothing feel to it and a slight cooling effect as I apply it, it is nice and rich and as I said absobs easily into my skin.
The packaging is quite neat, a glass jar which is a sort of darkish plum colour with a white lid that is very secure. There is a bit of weight to the jar and it is well designed with distinctive lettering.
Overall this is a good quality night cream and well worth giving a try.
I purchased this along with a few other biotherm products a while back. I've never really used a specific night cream before, I usually just use a day moisturiser but I thought it might be good to try something a little different.
The product comes in a small glass jar in a aubergine colour with white writing and a white lid. I think the design is very clean looking, it represents the product well as something fresh and clean. I think the aubergine colour, though not typically associated with skincare, is very nice for a product that is designed for night use. Overall I really like the look of it and think that while the design is simple this only suggests to me that the main focus is on a quality product. I do really like a jar container for moisturisers as it allows you to get everything our of the container and allows you to see how much you have remaining. I do, however, think it encourages to use slightly more than you need to despite the option of putting it back if you take too much.
The product has a light and creamy texture which is very nice and smooth to apply. It has a undistinguishable and yet pleasant scent. When applied to the skin it absorbs relatively quickly but leaves you skin feeling hydrated so you know it is continuing to work. I don't have particularly sensitive skin but I do suffer from slightly dry patches and found the cream to be sensitive and not irritate any sore or broken skin. I found it made my skin feel noticeably softer, even though I already use well-established and effective skin products. I also thought it made for a nice change from my normal day moisturiser. My only problem with this was that as a night cream I was hoping for it to be a little thicker in consistency so that is felt like a more luxurious, indulgent cream for my skin. I can't knock the results though so this isn't pivotal for me.
Overall I would say I am pleased with the effects of using the cream at night and it is something I would use again but probably only as a rare treat or if I received it as a gift. The pot costs £30.00 for 50 ml which really isn't cheap. Obviously I bought it in the first place so it isn't something I would never considering buying for that price but I wasn't completely blown away enough to consistently use and buy it. If in the future though I find my skin goes through a particularly bad phase I would definitely re-purchase this to give added night hydration as I did find it effective.
Good but pricey.
~Biotherm Ergetic Night Cream~
Ergetic Night Cream is part of a new range of facial skin care products produced by Biotherm that includes a concentrate, a day cream and this useful night cream. I have found the night cream is easy to use at night time after cleansing and toning and it also works well as a stand alone product that can give a your facial skin a boost when used as an intensive once or twice weekly skin boosting treatment. I have found the use of the night cream to be something that can help to give make up free skin a more radiant slightly softer and more even tone, which can be further enhanced by the use of the matching day cream to give a smooth freshly moisturised look.
The mix of ingredients in this night cream seem to have a lovely light and natural, almost fruity wheatgerm kind of fragrance when the cream is applied freshly to the skin, which softens over time and finally fades away. The texture of the cream is light and smooth with a non greasy feel, making it easy to apply to the skin when needed, with the cream becoming absorbed into the skin quickly and leaving no oily or greasy residue behind. When I use this cream it leaves my skin feeling smooth and velvety soft and there are no nasty creases formed in the skin over night, which I find some heavier and more intensive night creams can cause when over used.
~Presentation and ease of use~
The night cream is held in a neat and smart glass tub/ jar that is presented in a bold aubergine shade that gives the product a classy yet modern feel. The shape of the tub is almost like a slightly larger than normal egg that has a cut off top and base section and I find that it sits well on flat surfaces when the tub is in use or being stored away when not required. The glass tub Biotherm have picked to hold the night cream has neat rounded lines that I feel gives the product a smooth and modern look in keeping with recent trends that is easy to handle when applying the cream. I feel the tub works well when in use, with it also making the night cream stand out well amongst other products when looking for it amongst other Biotherm products on the various in store displays.
Biotherm say the night cream is the 1st 'radiance recovery night time moisturizer' that uses a special blend of '5 natural tea and seed extracts' in its make up. The cream is also synthetic fragrance, paraben and mineral oil free and Biotherm uses natural mineral water to make it. There is a simple look to the text used on the front of the glass tub which tells you this is a 'high recovery overnight moisturiser' and the Biotherm name sits proudly at the top centre underneath the lid. The white plastic and sliver trimmed lid has a neat shape that is easy to grip when opening or closing it and it seems to seal the night cream inside the tub with no leaks or spills. There is a small protective cover inside the lid that you can dispense with if you find it fiddly to take off and put on all the time, although it has been placed there to make sure that the night cream doesn't end up coming into contact with the lid and clogging it up, so removing it may cause some mess.
~Made using natural ingredients~
Biotherm say that their products are tested and proven to be safe for use on most skin types including dry and sensitive skin with the cream being made from 97.5% natural ingredients. The skin care consultant I spoke with when I opted for this night cream assured me that Biotherm would take note of any reported reaction to the product up by looking into it, as they were confident that the night cream should prove safe for use with almost all skin types which I felt was very reassuring. Having used the night cream I am happy to say that it glides onto the skin well and seems to cause no redness or reactions even on freshly washed and toned skin, which makes it soothing and calming on the skin each and every time I have used it.
According to the blurb on the box, the information printed on leaflets in store, plus the discussion I had with the in store representative the night cream is not packed full of synthetic colourants, as any colour comes purely from the natural ingredients used. Having used this night cream I am able to say that it has a light creamy colour to it which appears colour free, so I cannot see how or where any secret colour additives might have been hidden, which leads me to say that I feel I can agree the product looks completely as promised. The night cream makes use of a combination of ingredients that includes extracts of tea and ruscus leaf as well as buckwheat wax extract, which is possibly where the light fruity wheatgerm fragrance comes from when the cream is fresh out of the tub.
~Results when using the cream~
Since using this product I have found that it never stings the skin or makes it feel sore or tender and it seems light enough when applied sparingly to be applied to all areas of the face including over the eye lids, under the eyes, across cheekbones, the chin, nose, brow line, forehead etc with no ill effects caused. I have used the night cream after cleansing in the evenings and have even used it after a light exfoliation of the skin during the day as a skin booster cream. I have had no burning or redness when using this, on freshly washed and toned skin although I have experienced these types of issues at times when using other skin care products. I have combined my use of the night cream with the other items in the range including the the concentrate and the day cream, all of which have worked well and been a pleasure to use. I have found that this night cream soaks in well and leaves facial skin softly hydrated, soothed, calmed and well cared for which is what I always hope for from a skin care product.
~Summary and rating~
Over all I have been pleased with this night cream as I have found it easy to use with it giving good results each and every time I have used it. The cream is something I would buy again in future should there be a special deal or promotion that seems beneficial and makes the price you pay slightly lower than its normal rrp. At the moment the night cream sells for £33.70 for a 50ml tub which may make this an expensive buy for many people, although there are some promotions offered by Biotherm from time to time which may make this a slightly better buy. I feel that the quality of the night cream is very good, with just a small amount going a very long way when in use, although I would like to see it on sale for a little less as it would be more accessible to a wider range of skin care buyers.
I feel the night cream is very calming and soothing when applied to the skin with it leaving a slightly brighter appearance to my complexion in the morning after use, which is good to see. The night cream is both light and soft when applied to the skin and it does manage to leave a soft velvety sheen without being overly greasy if applied lightly. I have found that the texture of the night cream is good, with it never feeling too thick or heavy and I have used the cream for my facial skin as well as for my hands and found it works equally well leaving nice soft hydrated skin after application. As I have enjoyed using this product I feel it ought to get a 4 star rating as it is easy to apply and leaves my skin feeling clean, soft and well cared for after use.
