“ Brand: Blanc Cachemire / Type: Day Cream „
I subscribe to a couple of beauty boxes, I pay whatever is asked once a month and return have a lovely box filled with plenty of beauty samples for me try. The reason I love these services so much is that it gives me chance to try different beauty products I wouldn't normally pick myself for whatever reason.
I'm a big skincare junkie and I'm forever looking for the perfect products in this department so receiving a new day cream in my July Birch Box I'd personally never heard of let alone tried was quite exciting for me. I was particularly excited to give this a try when I learned its retail price. A 50ml jar of this cream will set you back a hefty £54.75. This would have be pretty amazing for me to feel it worth that price tag, personally I think you can get a face cream which does all you need and much, much more for less than half that price, it seemed like a very excessive price to me.
As you may have guessed this brand is a French one, apparently a fairly popular high end one over there at that. The brand is only just being introduced over here in the UK and the only place I can really find this currently is Amazon or the Birch Box store.
The full sized cream comes in a rounded, clear glass pot with silver screw on lid. It looks fairly expensive with its sophisticated less-is-more look and I was quite pleased with my 15ml trail size, probably worth what I paid for the entire beauty box alone. My smaller version, however, comes in a white plastic tube which stands upside down on its white plastic screw off lid. The Product name is written across it in bold, easy to read grey font with 'crème de jour protectrice' being its original name and the one written on my tube.
The cream is made with 100% natural ingredients, is paraben free and is cruelty free. It includes a bio-organic calcium complex and proteins from cashmere extracts. The day cream apparently boosts cell renewal and stimulates the production of collagen making it an anti-aging moisturiser as well as a protective one.
It's used the same way you'd use any day cream. Just apply to the face each morning after cleansing. If you've got much more money than me you may like to cleanse with Blanc Cachemire cleansing milk (another £24.60) and finish with their eye cream (another £41.90)!
The cream is relatively thin and white in colour; it does smell really nice too. It has a very fresh, natural and subtle fruity smell to it which I had no problems smearing all over my face. Thankfully a little of this cream goes a long way. I only need a pea sized blob to cover my face and a little less than that do my neck too. It's absorbed into the skin effortlessly, leaves a matte effect and just feels really high quality.
I suffer from really sensitive skin so I have to be careful about what products I use on my face but I've experienced no negative effects from this one whatsoever. It's really light weight, once rubbed in there are no visible signs that it's even there and you wouldn't even know yourself if it wasn't for the softness and hydration this cream leaves behind.
My skin is really left beautifully soft, I cannot stop stroking my face when I've applied this! It not only feels really smooth and supple but it looks it too. Obviously this is just a day cream so it doesn't cover imperfections as such, blemishes, spots and uneven skin tone, these are still there as ever but the condition of my face just looks better. The skin looks and feels much healthier. I'm really pleased with the results this gives.
The results are long lasting too. I get a really soft and smooth face for the entire day. My skin is quite dry and this definitely hydrates it a noticeable amount again, that hydration lasts all day.
Long term results are not very apparent. I can't really comment on the anti-aging claims. At twenty years old I suspect I'd have to wait a fair while before writing this review to tell you if those are any good. I'm not sure what the day cream is protecting my face from exactly and I can't claim I've seen any results which make me suspect my face has been protected any more than usual. I would certainly prefer an SPF in this cream, sun damage is the only real thing I'm really bothered about protecting my skin against and much cheaper face creams offer this protection whilst still giving me soft and hydrated skin.
All in all I do enjoy this day cream. It certainly leaves my skin looking and feeling amazing. It appears safe for sensitive skin and it's just a very effective day cream. I still don't think it's worth the price though. I'd more than happily receive this as a gift, even buy it myself if I were to find it very heavily reduced. For me though it's £55 price tag isn't justified. I've used face creams which have offered just as good results for much, much less. A nice splurge if you have the money but if not, just as effective alternatives are available.
